Our target fish that day were queenfish they inhabit coastal waters can always find them near reefs and offshore islands occasionally u do find them in estuaries they feed on small fish and crustaceans or anything that’s shiny 😂
Food wise they are great in numus soups and similar dishes other wise they are abit tough on the chew
Personally i treat them as bycatch and only keep them if i have to
East point is home to a large amount of wildlife and species of
Fish and crustaceans such as the iconic Barramundi/Barra
East point reserve is Darwin’s largest park area it’s popular for locals and visitors for its safe year round swimming at lake Alexander with a military history an museum
Since it’s a reserve you are allowed to use a rod, hand line, hooks, and lures any fish that’s less then 30cm long must be returned to the water as soon as possible for more info head to one of the nt.gov pages

I just moved to Darwin, is it best to fish here at low time on the run out? Still learning about lure and plastics as I have never used them before.

On the out going tide man that’s when I usually have most success finding the fish at east point
Roster Popper are my go to there or mad scads hardbody surface lures and prawn imitations work great too
