Right? What a PHENOMENAL interview. I'm 2hrs in & this is one of the best I've seen.

@@ZillaMesh Never expected a popstar to be so nuanced but then again all of them choose to show only one side to us, Jewel though has been through a lot and still seems so put together and decent. With all that she accomplished while being at the very bottom and then becoming as successful as she is and still remaining kind and insightful is really admirable.

Definitely one of my favorite JRE episodes. Always loved this woman and saw the clip on youtube and instantly went to Spotify to see the whole thing. Great stuff. And to see her sing on the podcast, awesome sauce.

This was Jewel’s first tv performance. Conan’s music booker Jim Pitt put her on and put all of us on to Jewel. Awesome 👏🏼

That was a mythical night. I was six years old in 1995, so I didn't know anything about her existence. In those years there was no internet yet... but when I discovered her two years ago, suddenly just listening to her album “Pieces of you” I cried because I had visions of my childhood in the early 90's that I no longer remembered that they were there, in my mind, in my soul. It's amazing the power of music (even the one that is not in your own language) to connect everything. So Jewel is one of my favorite singers. Maybe I don't sound or write objectively, but I'd like to say that she is one of the best things and faces (culturally I mean) that United States has. She is an authentical cultural ambassador. Congratulations to the US-american people for having singers of this quality. Greetings from México City.

What hurt Jewel was the 1999-2002 of trying to break into mainstream pop. I think thats why she hasnt had the legacy of pieces of you.

@@Konverteraren Nobody cares about your opinion about Joe. Keep it to yourself. Jewel seemed to care about him (somewhat at least) and although not in the reaction section she is here since she's in the movie. And I care about Joe so also from that perspective you were wrong.
Now the question becomes, are you man enough to admit your mistake and learn from it? I doubt it for good reasons that I gained from experience in similar situations.
      Have a nice day, bye!

Listening to her audiobook never broken which is her story. At this part of the story she is still unsuccessful though she has an album. It is languishing for far far too long and she is thinking she's probably going to lose her deal. She has had no hits and is thinking none are possible at this point in the story
