Guess what? Costco just opened up in Shenzhen, making it the first Costco in Southern China. There are 5 other costcos in China, but they are all located closer to the Shanghai area.
Anyways, Costco opened up on Jan 12, 2024, and I decided to go the week after hearing about the 2 hour wait to get inside. I guess it was a little better to go the week after…? I only waited 30 minutes lining up in the parking lot to get in. When I got in it was so stressed because there were too many people with giant carts. So I opted with just using my rolly box, which is really popular in Hong Kong.
To get there from Hong Kong, you take the East Rail line to Lok Ma Chau, cross the border and take the 4 line to Hongshan station, which takes about 20 min. Then you get out of Exit B and it’s like a 25 min walk or you can taxi there for about 10 RMB.
