Before coming to China, the media coverage on China l had come across was usuallynegative. Many people in my country including me mistakenly believed that China was a poor country, where there was only oppression without freedom. But when l came to China, l found China is AMAZING! l dare say China is better than the West in many ways.Modernization, convenience, hospitality, safety, all of these has left a positive impression on me. So l told my families and friends that it was only after I came to China l deeply appreciated how excellent China has developed.

From your experience, we can see the monopoly and hegemony of the Western media in the media. They can spread false information to shape the image of the country they don’t like. This was why China built its own firewall. In the Western media Under the monopoly and hegemony, the Chinese media has no right to speak and cannot compete with the Western media at all. If there is no firewall, many Chinese will accept false information like you did before, and it will affect the stability and unity of the entire country.

Thanks for speaking out and telling others what the real China is like. I hear a lot of negative comments about China, but 99% of them come from people who have never even been in China. They don't dislike or hate China. They dislike or hate the stereotypes that are perpetrated in the West. For example, I am guessing that probably 3/4 of people in the West think that China is still a country filled with rice paddies, bicycles, and downtrodden people walking in the streets with their heads down and wearing drab blue or gray peasant clothes. ALL of them would gasp is they saw what a modern shopping mall in Guangzhou or Wuhan looks like. The newest shopping mall in Wuhan doesn't just have an indoor skating rink, it has an indoor ski area! No one in the West would believe it if they didn't see it. There is still a sense of superiority when Westerners talk about China. "Those poor downtrodden people in China, living under Communist rule, must lead awful lives, right?" You've lived in China. You know the truth is so vastly different.

I like this because I get paranoid at supermarkets here in the US, I feel like they are cheating me, charging me more for the product than it's priced at. It would be nice to see the product price on a screen before I buy it. That's why I like self check outs, I can see the actual price on the screen. When go through a cashier, you don't see the price until you get your receipt.

It's brilliant 👍 As long as the trolley doesn't become this annoying endless stream of advertisements that you can't shut up while you're shopping. That's why many people use TH-cam premium or pay TV, to avoid the adverts. Maybe, after everyone gets sick of the never-ending trolley adverts, they'll start offering silent trolleys for a premium.
The best part, is not having to lug everything onto the checkout, then back into the trolley, and if you had your shopping bags inside the trolley while you're shopping you could pack as you go, and when you're finished everything's already packed and paid 👍

Well we have smart cart in Canada too: one of the wheels would lock at the exit if there was one unpaid item inside the cart and alarm would sound. Another feature of this kind smart cart is you cannot push it outside of the parking lot to prevent people from stealing it...

So Awesome and convenient about China’s Supermarkets! Here in America, some Americans consumes the food products in the Supermarkets by not paying for it and just simply walk right out. In terms of scaling products, there are two options here in China. You could weigh it by yourself by Simply putting the products and it will automatically recognize which specific product you're weighing as you can see from the LED screen the picture and price of it. Another way to scale product is by asking staff for helping to weigh it.
