for some reason THIS is the video that finally taught me how to do the stitch properly after I went through like 10 vids, thank you. can’t wait to make my toque ☺️
I'm going by your measurements (18x10inch) since I'm using thinner yarn (I think weight 3 and 4mm hook) We'll see how it goes! Edit: Two days and 3000 stitches later, mine is done! I did 60 stitches and 50 rows, using hobbii's butterfly (color; sakura pink butterfly) yarn, and 4mm hook!! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Okay, I am dumb, but the very first row (foundation row I guess) counts as a row or no? Like do we make 50 MORE rows (total of 51) or 50 rows in total?
Hi! Just a note that when you said to go into “the first chain” I thought you meant the first of the two chain stitches. After seeing my rows were increasing, I realized that when I think you meant was to go into the first stitch (the first V). I don’t know if other noobs like me might find that confusing! I figured it out after a few rows 😅 Thanks for a great tutorial!
Just completed this crochet cat hat and love how it turned out! I used size 4 Sugar ‘N Cream cotton yarn and went off of her size recommendation in inches instead of stitch counts since the yarn can sometimes make the project turn out different and/or I usually crochet tighter than normal. Highly recommended this tutorial if you are a beginner! ❤️
I have tried two different methods to make this hot and those patterns always had some kind of zigzag or straight line or diagonal line across part of the Hat that took away from the Perfect Image. Finally I thought there has to be an easier way like making a rectangle. I am so glad you have done this and I am so eager to make all my kids and grandkids and great grandkids these hats now. Thank you thank you thank you
Had to unravel my first attempt because im using a bigger hook and made it wayyy too tall, but just finished it and it's SO CUTE and cozy, thank you!! ❤
I saw a TikTok vaguely teaching how to do this and I've been a week stuck in the part where I turn the rectangle to a tube, no video was clear enough for me until I saw this one, using exactly the one stitch I used. The only thing that concerns me now is that I didn't do the texture bit with only using half of the v to do the half double crochet stitch so I'm considering frogging the whole thing but it frustrates me to think of days, weeks of my beginner struggle being frogged away 😭
I really love this tutorial, and have made three hats for my fam out of it, but also find it a little bit wool consuming… Is there a way I can save wool whilst doing this anyone?
What you could do is chain a length and either compare it to where it falls on your head, or use a sizing chart for measurements and then compare it to a tape measure.
why does mine is getting "smaller"? at the beginning there was 60 chains and now, after some lines of double crochet (chaining two on the corners) it's like 40 at the actual line. Is it right? idk why this happened.
Personally I can‘t stand to wear pure acrylic on my body, it makes me sweat. For very cold weathers it might be better than cotton. Cotton is better in not so cold weather :)

what is the name of the stitch tho
@@Mari-fh4ft it's a half double crochet (hdc)
This turned out so cute!! I'm a baby crocheter... and this is the easiest pattern to follow. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thank you. I finally found a video that helped me make this hat.

This tutorial was the best! made my first cat hat and it turned out amazing!!
I did this once not meaning to make one & it was my favorite hat 😋

You're so very welcome! I'm so happy that you love this pattern!!
thank you soooo much for this tutorial 😭👍 i was unsure of how to join my rectangle together after finishing it and this helped so much!!!!
This came out so cute thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! I made a video about it and I credited you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Super cute and easy
I loved this pattern but I need to make it for my five grandkids of various ages. Do you have a size chart?
I love it, thank you for sharing.♥️♥️♥️
thank you for this! the other method for making this hat wasn't working out for me well at all, so I needed this so much!
Had to unravel my first attempt because im using a bigger hook and made it wayyy too tall, but just finished it and it's SO CUTE and cozy, thank you!! ❤
having the same issue, i don’t know if you remember but mine is about a foot tall at this point and i’m 10 rows in, do you think that is too tall?
Do you chain 2 at the end of every row? Mine is looking weird
Wondering if you'd know where to change colors if you wanted the ears to be a different color yarn?
hopefully you figured it out but i guess just diagonally work up when you reach the right place

would it ruin the design of the hat if we were to sc on the sides and top rather than ss? I'm worried about big heads popping it open lol
Do the ampunt of chains i need change depending on hook size?
I am trying to figure this out too. I am using a 8mm hook.

Any help with shrinkage? 🥺

Maybe you skipped a stich ?
Do u think it’s better to use Cotten or acrylic yarn for cat beanies

How many chains for an infant one?
❤❤❤
How long did this take you?
2:20 (progress)
We’re did you buy your glass model
This particular one is a vintage one that my mom gave to me. She got it years ago, probably at a yard sale. You can find them on online sometimes.
Hellllppp!
It is way too big for me.
