My goodness that was so so close, literally 1 hp, you really did well it's not like he won by a landslide that was a great match between you both. congrats 👏
Congrats on the result! I will cheer for you in Japan 🙂. As always: I really enjoy your commentary - it gives me a lot of great tips on how to play PVP. Much appreciated!
I’m getting so good at knowing which Pokémon Tho was going to use against his opponents team! It’s not very hard I know but I’m terrible at this game. I predicted G-Fisk, Venu, Froslass first match and I was spot on! It’s the little things. 😂
during the first battle, when the venusaur comes out against the medicham, is it not taking massive amounts of damage from the first two counters the medicham delivers? something seems very odd about that and I wonder if this is a larger issue at hand
Don't post what happens in a tournament. You're the #1 comment and it automatically pops up when you click on the video! But yeah better luck next year!
Playing super well the entire tournament and then misplaying the final game of the finals? That would never happen to me 🌚 Grats on making it to worlds and see you in Bochum!
Its more upsetting bc if you threw one more counter before that ice punch you would've won the cmp tie and ko'd the noctowl. So damn close but really well played.
@@enriquem.1861 when both players use charge move at the same time (Charge Move Priority). the mon with the higher attack stat wins it (= can throw the charge move first)
Maybe Jellycent with Ice Beam is better, bit slower but at least not weak to steel types. I like Jellicent always as it is a nice hard counter to may steels and that frikkin Nidoqueen.
It's better against the grounds with fast and charge, better against grass and steels normally don't have steel fast or charge moves and you hit with the shadow ball. Ice fast move is way better against flyers. I like it more than jelli.
I think you were better in playing quality than Collin. He just had the luck with the Noctowl everytime. I didn't see amazing play from him to get around things. And then losing on one bit of energy is not good. Luckily you both go to Japan, Congrats!
I don't wanna sound like a nerd but u could have won the last game by going for a cmp tie with the noctowl so you get a extra counter and knock out the noctowl with ur ice punch
@@ThoTechtical yeah I saw that aswell but in the heat of the moment it’s hard to remember counts & thinking ice punch would kill, most trainers would throw that quick
@@142Shimon is that necessarily true? I'm cherry-picking IVs here, but the rank 5 medi (3/15/15, 104.8 atk at level 51) should lose cmp to the rank 33 noctowl (1/12/9, 105 atk). Generally, medicham wins CMP, but there's a possibility (depending on the IVs) that Noctowl flips it, which is why I was curious
GGs again Thomas! Looking forward to representing the Netherlands with you in Yokohama!

Congrats and best of lunch in Japan. I’m rooting for you!
lunch?
japan does have some pretty good lunch ngl

Thoooo congrats again on getting into worlds!! you played very wel! this regional was amazing !
Congrats to you both. Excellent battles
Well done. Now 2nd and 1st in Worlds! Definitely gonna check that out.
What's a world championship without ThoTechtical? 😅 gl dude can't wait to watch!

Lots of fun to watch thx for the video
What are the ivs for ur stunfisk?
Whos magnemite plushy is that?? I want one. Magneton has always been one of my favorites

It's an animation issue, the hp bar doesn't update for 2 turns after switching, so 2-3 counters are (visually) applied at the same time
Well played Thomas! Heel veel succes in Japan ♡
how do you not smash everything after that ice punch not killing
Ay you did great and congratulations on getting to world's. Will you compete in another regional?
Thanks!! I'm definitely going to Utrecht and very likely Bochum and EUIC.
@@ThoTechtical nice, can't wait to see you perform
@@ThoTechtical When is the Utrecht one and can everyone come in?
That last match was so damn close!
Damn that was a very decent IVs Noctowl!
Close but at least u tried ur best, Gg, hope u win world finals in japan next year

Would you have won if you threw on cmp not giving an wing attack up for free?
Yes 🥲 if I win cmp at least, which is not guarenteed but likely
But since he thought the dmg was enough, why risk it to maybe lose cmp :D
I cannot believe that ice punch did not knock out he noctowl! ggs
Gg you’re amazing Tho
Oef that was a close call! Congrats anyways for reaching second place and a ticket for worlds in Japan

Hasn’t Colin faced a single Alolan Ninetales during whole tournament? Curious.

yeah, it depends on the IV-s, but I guess that noctowl has PvP IV, too
What does cmp tie mean?🤔

Good job! Bam!
Ok so I'm curious now, why did Froslass raise so much in popularity recently? I feel like it's a bit of a glass cannon in GL.

Don't worry, you played the best in a long time. It was a hard decision with the Lickitung.

Do you know if your medi beats their noctowl cmp? I think it's close and might be a bit IV dependent
