Using the entire 6.75T federal budget of 2024, if you remove social security payment (1.46T, 22%), medicaid (912B, 13.5%), net debt interest payment (822B, 13%), medicare (874B,13%) and defense (874B, 13%), you are left with 1.75T. I don't see how you can cut 2T without massively cutting the all of the above programs and expenditures. Cutting 2T is not the best case scenerio, it is simply impossible in the practical sense. Musk is blowing smoke.

Not to mention over 60% of the federal budget is mandatory spending, so unless Congress passes new law, it isn't happening. About half of discretionary spending goes to the military so only about a trillion is what we hear all the noise about. When utilities are hot, you're looking at an almost 100% chance of a general bear market as far as stocks are concerned. At least that's what the historical data suggests.

Tax cuts are 'phenomenal' for those that are getting them. It's why wealth among the top 1% of earners has skyrocketed. But virtually every penny that goes to people in 'entitlement' programs (which is a misnomer) goes back into the economy to keep it chugging along. Unelected Elon and Vivek are billionaires. Forbes estimated Ramaswamy's net worth at more than $960 million; his wealth comes from biotech and financial businesses. Musk's net worth surged after the 2024 United States presidential election, and in December 2024, he became the first person to have a net worth of more than $400 billion. As a primary customer, the federal government of the United States has signed contracts worth $20 billion with SpaceX as of November 2024.

Envy is a wonderful thing, but not very profitable. No wonder you are broke and they are not.
