We were camping at the Davidson river campground, when the Sheriff’s department came through warning everyone to evacuate immediately. We jumped in the truck and left, when we crossed the bridge the river was inches from over topping. Thanks to the Sheriffs quick response all got out in time.
TS Fred did a number on the entire stretch of that river. Reliable old pools and runs are now gravel beds with the waterway diverted 15 feet to the left or right. Crazy!
Love that stretch of water in graveyard. Just went there yesterday and was told by the park ranger to leave cause they're shutting the parkway down. There's a great camping spot off the MST we like to say during the end of August for the brookie fishing + blueberry picking. 2nd spot curious if thats the big east fork. We were actually out there the weekend after the tropical storm and saw a bunch of dead fish washed up on the creekbed and all way to parts of the trail. The waters seemed dead there.
Loved that second stretch, I can't believe that pool and calls ha e changed like that!
