I just love how they redesigned Ashley in the remake. In the original, she was more of a brat - in the remake, she's facing her fears and she's really helpful in certain situations. Way more likeable and interesting as a character. Love the playthrough. Glad the autosave saved the day!

I did on my first runthrough as well. I didnt realise the intention was for you to just fend him off until the timer ran down until I saw clips of speedrunners clipping into the elevator door with the scoped rifle so the Verdugo couldn't hit them while they waited on it so they didnt have to fight it xD
On hardcore difficulty, I don't seem to have enough ammo to kill him. So I had no choice but to run away. Did you manage to kill him on hardcore? If so, how did you do it?
@@TurnerTurnip me I just upgrade my StingRay Rifle firepower, ammo, & fire rate up to level 4, make some enough ammo and whenever he’s frozen by the nitrogen I just unload everything into his face and make sure you aim in his face (which is his weakness by the way) and then should be good, that’s how I beat him in Hardcore
@@TurnerTurnip I only play professional now and kill him every time. Fully upgraded magnum finishes him off the fastest if you use it when he's frozen, but if you don't have that you can use shotguns, though make sure you have 30-40 ammo. Magnum only takes maybe 10-15 shots. Heavy grenades/grenades work well too, if you are short on ammo. & flashes stun him if you get cornered. A couple of times I've even killed him the first time he appears without him going back into the vents with magnum shots/heavy grenades but i think its luck based, depending on whether you are getting enough crits and landing every head shot. My record was 8 magnum headshots. Of course on HC it will take even less ammo. Just make sure you have the damage, ammo capacity & fire rate upgraded as much as possible for your main damage dealing weapon & that you land your shots.

Especially if he develops games himself. And design as the author of the video. 05:50 - I don’t know if they said it earlier, but you can remove the sight from the rifle, and aiming is more convenient for hitting close targets (like in COD).
Glad you were able to continue the series. I'm sure others have mentioned this, but evade is contextual for certain attacks only. The knife parry is the thing that will work in almost all situations and attacks, aside from the contextual evade prompts.
10:45 Fun fact, you actually can make Ashley wait in one spot in the original version of the game and its very nice to have. One of the few small gripes I have about an overall great remake
The Verdugo feels indestructible cause it has an absurdly high HP, it takes about 5x more damage when frozen and you can just run around till the elevator arrives so the devs didn’t hold back. Nice job killing it.

Thank goodness for autosave! Was very happy to see this after the cliffhanger in the last video. Chapter 9 is one of my absolute favourite parts of the entire franchise (and any game, honestly). Just the gothic atmosphere, perfectly paced set-pieces, Ashley's amazing section and seeing the trust between her and Leon really solidify as she grows more confident and trusting in herself, it's absolutely PERFECT. Leon is a calm and supportive king, and we love to see it. 😌 (FYI this game is full of completely intentional 'skips' you can do to make certain encounters MUCH shorter, easier or just bypass them entirely and one of the best ones is in the Gallery in the Grand Hall puzzle section - lob a grenade at the balcony where the lever is right before the cut-scene pops and you'll blow up the zealot that pulls the lever and lowers the bridge. It's hilarious 😂 It's been so long since I've done that gallery fight the way it's 'meant' to happen I'd totally forgotten what a bloody nightmare it is 😂). Your gameplay and commentary is super fun to watch, as always! Edit: but damn girl, you can ONLY evade contextual attacks that SHOW the evade prompt in this game! Randomly pressing crouch is never going make anyone magically evade. Your knife is right there! It is your friend! 😂

If the charms of the characters looks different from this game is because those are the designs of the original game. It was done this way to honor the classic.
I try not to do that so much, because it wears out my knife. Or does it? If it doesn't wear out my knife, then I need to change my tactics. I generally only use my knife to parry as a last resort. For the most part, my knife is used to either get out of a grab, or to execute a fallen enemy right before they transform into a tentacle zombie.
I've not finished the video yet but I have to say your luck with the tokens was insane, I've frequently put in 2 golds and a silver and just gotten a common out of it, you got rares out the ass.
I agree, Genevieve Buchner has a great voice and she did a great job with portraying Ashley. Loved her playable segment. You are so used to playing badass Leon by this point that it really brings that element of horror back to the table for a moment. It's great. And congrats on defeating Verdugo! Probably the most stressful miniboss in the game. (Or any RE game I've played so far.)
Glad your save issues last episode weren't fatal. Really enjoying this RE4 playthrough, one of the best I've seen. And I've seen a few. You’ve now got the loadout I finished the second half of the game with. Red 9, Riot Gun and Stingray. That’s all you need really as you upgrade them, although a magnum in reserve is always useful. The assault rifle is tempting but not as good as the Stingray IMO.
This is a great episode. Ashleys section and verdugo all in one episode. Even Gab Smulders who plays Japanese supernatural horror games like they're nothing was stressed out by Verdugo lol.
Hey, Amber! Great video as usual; just one thing: remember that you now have the Merchant Charm that will give you a discount on all weapon upgrades! You can easily put it on from the Typewriter next to the Merchant, do your upgrades and then go back to your combat charms setup. You would have saved a lot of money at around the 55:00 mark, for example!
I'm so glad there was a usable game save! I would miss seeing this playthrough as I'm really enjoying it, plus you seem to be having a good time so I'm glad you are able to continue. Certainly wouldn't have expected you to replay the whole thing if the save didn't work so glad it did.
Fun fact: in the original when you played as Ashley you would throw lamps that burst into flames at cultists and, due to a little..."exploit" (shoving open a door caused damage to cultists, making them kneel and giving the melee prompt) Ashley could suplex cultists until they died lol

Probably because I was told by practically the entire internet that RE:6 was such a horrible game. It really wasn't that bad. And well worth a playthrough.
Verdugo is certainly a tough customer, well played. Pro tip moving forward: Using a flashbang leaves enemies in a state where you can use your knife to instantly kill them with little effort. Great way to trade 1 flash grenade for usually 2 reliable kills, and they’re relatively cheap to craft too!

Congratulations on killing Vertugo! For my first playthrough, I thought he couldn't be killed besides temporarily being knocked down. I thought I was just wasting bullets and made a run for it. But killing him is definitely worth the reward.
Good job mixing the yellow herb with the already mixed green and red herb. If you mix all three herbs together, you'll get an even greater permanent health increase, than just eating a mixed green and yellow herb.

A: unlike you they didn’t see this coming, Ashley got slung over an enemy’s head and the streamer attempted to headshot from afar. What happened next was hilarious, but also ended in critical mission failure. They landed a headshot on Ashley, not the bad guy with a sniper rifle and she instantly died. You however saw this coming, and she barely got picked up at all because you periodically checked what was around here watching like a hawk. You are amazing and have natural talent for games. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
She learned that it is not good that Ashley is picked up the same way, in the water room, when she accidentally killed Ashley the same way. Nevertheless, she learns very quick, and do games cleverly

Just so you know, you don't have to worry about selling a gun with ammo in it, your new gun comes full of ammo...I really think the Stingray would have helped you alot earlier...Anyway I love the videos as always!

I did not know that the lantern stunned the knights, I had to avoid them and it was awesome. That part was one of my favorites and pretty scary.
Small tip if you want it - the evade is for specific attacks; the game wants you to prioritize parrying.
