I've only ever done this with adding the parents ghost to the family, setting the parent as hates children and lazy and making the kids lives absolutely miserable with possessing their items. I did have the kids can paint mod, however so they could afford to replace the broken items. It's pretty fun. Make the ghost cook meals and the kids little famous artists. 😂
How did you do it without the kids getting adopted away when the parent dies
You can also have a drawing table instead and sell their drawings if you want it must be more challenging tho since it is much less value

For those who play on console (like myself), there is a way to have children live alone. Enable testingcheats, then just highlight/click the adult and remove them from the family. No need to go into CAS and no grim reaper necessary. You will not get a game over and if you want to, you can invite the adult back over to take care of things the child can't, like cooking.

The strength of the moodlets should decay and weaken over time. Such as grief of witnessing loved ones passing away should be one of the strongest sad moodlet that overshadow any other moodlets until it gets weaker the days later. I wonder if there's a mod for more dynamic moodlets.
Kids sometimes find toys if they search through the bins in the street.
Oh and btw another way for kids to make money is by getting them to mental level 3 and having them start gardening 👩🌾
I woulda sold the counter and the lemonade stand, and then, instead of fishing, I would've had them forage in the neighborhood. I mean, that's the fastest way with no skills.
When you're broke, frogs are your friends. Get two, breed them, then sell the highest priced one. When the best you can breed is for ten simoleans, then you sell them both. Flowers pay out well, and so do metals and gems... and all this can be done twice a day and takes less time than fishing.
"The Grim Reaper assuming the head of the house" could be an interesting video.

YES!!!! Someone finally made a mod that I’ve been searching for since before toddlers existed in this game. I’m so happy! Most of my gameplay is normally about children but I always have to have someone as a teen or teens or they get taken away. ❤😂
I did this challenge,but I saved up for the voilin and played for money..was still hard but way easier then fishing

I think children can make candles you know! And sell using the market table and use the price mark up! They should be able to sell even the fish at the table for higher prices

Use the drawing table and sell the drawings/ crafts for money . Since you don't need the stove you could sell it . And maybe get sleeping bags instead of sleeping in the tree house.

Sims can take family leave, why can they not take bereavement leave? Perhaps that's because that would mean that on short lifespan they'd never have to go to work/school.

You don’t need a mod to sell lemonade, you can just use the drink tray and have the kids live on a retail lot.

Kids can’t cook on their own without mods. The mod gives them the ability to cook like older sims can

Oh btw for people who can’t or don’t want to use mods, another idea is to just lock the adult in a room of their basic needs not allowing them or the kids to go in and out. That’s another way to have the kids ‘living alone’

Even though this mod allows the children to live alone, this is not remotely realistic. No competent society would allow children to live alone. Now, if the mod gives an adult to replace the lost adult, that would be closer to real life.
Can you pls post a video on how you got MC command center bc I saw 4 videos with 3 different ways how to do it and I’m scared of doing something wrong that breaks my game😭
