Very cool video! Loved the trial and error. Have a 95 Cobra im building for a DE/Time trail car. Picked up a Saleen T1 rear spoiler and have to figure out what to do with the front to balance it. I wont have near the down force you guys have.
Love these videos man. An interesting test for another tunnel day would be one of those flat peices across the top of the rear windsheild that sits 1-2 inches higher then the roof to direct air down into the windshield. I've seen them on sti's. You get what I'm saying?
@AJ Hartman Aero Thanks I was just thinking that I might be able to do a less effective wind tunnel aerodynamic data gathering. If I were to build my own wind tunnel 'room' and see were the biggest drag concerns are.
Unfortunately no. It depends what your goals are. We just happened to find a piece of bent angle aluminum that we cut in half and placed in front of the stock hood openings.
Most people would say a 1/4" gurney flap would work best. Also why have you not worked on a flat bottom and diffuser?. I bet that gives MUCH better results that any of those other mods you were testing. All that turbulant air you see in 16:30 to 16:50 section of video would be cleaned up with flat floor and underbody with proper diffuser.
1. "Most people" have no idea what they are talking about. Totally depends on the part, setup, situation, goal for the car, etc. as to what gurney flap is "best". 2. We are well aware that a flat bottom and diffusor would give the car increased performance. The class this car races in, a flat floor is not legal, and the wing gives plenty of rear Df so a diffusor isn't at the top of the necessity list for this setup. It would be fun to test a flat floor in the wind tunnel for sure. So if you build a car with a flat floor and diffusor and want me to go to the wind tunnel with you I will.
I just knew that adding wickers to the cobra hood would help. Time to make some and add to mine! Thanks for sharing

Did the gurney flap on the trunk do anything?
Yeah. Added Df in the rear but also drag. No surprise there.
is there a way to determine how large a wicker/gourney needs to be? (looking @6:50 ). Or is about 3/4 just a go to?

How would that 03/04 cobra hood perform if you added som spill over walls to the sides of the vents like RE Amemya does to their RX7s?

I've always wondered about the rear wheel covers. What was the result of that? Also, what's the goal of the vortex generators?
Almost nothing which was a surprise. Could be cause the wheels were static tho.
