- Finally let’s get 2022 season started! We returned to one of our favorite tracks of all time, Circuit of the Americas, for the annual Super Lap Battle showdown. With a good amount of upgrades, we were feeling confident, but the oppositions have also turned up the heat.
Excited for the prospect of a battle on our hands all year long!

That 2:15.0 was quite a lap sir. I’m super impressed with performance Jackie. Bummer you didn’t take the W but that’s the nature of sport. To me what’s most impressive is your driving from the first lap on practice day is the lap I aspire to land for a weekend. Thanks for being an inspiration!
Always fun battling it out with you, Jackie! Things were in my favor this time, but with how quick you and the Supra are it could easily be the opposite next event. I'm sad our street class rivalry is coming to an end!

Great driving man. COTA is my local track. I run a 2:24, but that's on the motorcycle; can't cut those apexes and the braking zones are much earlier. Awesome to see it from the perspective of a fast driver.

Man, i'm so glad to see another driver with the same driving style than me, I watch a lot of others racers and it always feels off, like IF they are doing something wrong, but you Man, it feels natural what you do, the way you turn in and corrects the car, even braking and trottle, it feels like a brother from another mother.
The helmet mounted wide angle footage is SWEET
I will experiment with it some more I think!
You need one of those windshield stickers that reads "Powered by BMW" to fully appreciate the power of the A90.

Damn that NSX just blasts down the straight, you guys are a fair chunk down on HP compared to it.
I thought you guys looked like you had much better corner entry speed, especially in high braking corners.

Amazing bro!!! I have to say it sounds like the trans is lagging in the top gears, like it might be slipping a little. Once it’s starts slipping making 600+ HP it will be toast. I’m sure you already have the pressure maxed. But I seriously didn’t go to Sonoma the one time and you guys show up!! lol. I’ll try and see you guys next time!! Keep up the amazing POV style driving.

Not to rag on Amir but don’t worry he only beat you because of a faster car. You can tell by when you were chasing him you quickly caught him in every turn then he pulled away on the straights. All in all great driving!

If the trans slip becomes an issue, Williams Performance in the UK can supply and/or advise on upgrading to the ZF8HP70 gearbox. That one is “rated” to 700nm whereas the HP51 in the Supra is “rated” to 500nm iirc.
We are looking into building the trans, and there are shops in the US that can work on the ZF8HP. Definitely considering

Last lap was baller. Less high speed over steer and a higher minimum speed on the slower corners may have gotten you in the 13's too!

It might be because of the re-paved roads, but the car looks a lot less tail-happy.
You might be right, the repave seemed to change the balance of the car before the setup change
Great camera angle and driving? On the helmet I assume? Did you have to adjust the exposure so the outside wasn’t washed out?

This angle ain't bad. Atleast we all learn few tips. How every pro driver should drive. Look and steer. Some driver don't move their head to the directions :). Would be nice if it's slightly higher ?.
2.8 G’s on street tires, that’s modern tires for you imagine future tire grip
Some of the other cars are fast mainly because they have been modified to within an inch of their lives, certain components are basically on the brink of exploding into a million tiny little pieces, the GR Supra still has much more potential left.
Hey Jackie, with the supra, do you manage your pedals with two feet? one for brake, one for gas? Just curious.
When you make the dampers softer for more mechanical grip you give up aero stability.
Jackie, just wondering if u are gonna built the b58 engine.
He seems to have you on acceleration and top speed but you catching up probably on the corners and on the brakes
Car would be sick with a higher redline so you could power through some of the low speed corners

nice...i think you should play with the gear ratios and diff...you lose too much time from that...Amir has 10-15 mph more in the back straight than you plus better mph increase when full throttle...just some thoughts from a racecar mechanic from greece as i see from your videos, both Amirs and yours
I think we are about even in terms of raw power, but the Supra with all its modern bits is about 800 lbs heavier. Like you said we lose time every time we get to a full throttle section. Fairly limited in terms of what I can do with the trans ratio and diff unfortunately
weight savings it is...carbon fiber is your friend...
@@athanaste 800 lbs is a lot of weight, almost like 4 heavyweight boxers. Even if they change all the body panels to carbon, i doubt they'll lose 800 lbs. Maybe they'd have to strip out the car too, but i don't know how much the rules allow for their class.

Less than 10%…..10% of the old 640 would be 64….so it could be another 50whp and still be “less” lol. Love it though

@@faizalmohd9536 generally not, higher average corner speeds = quicker lap times. HP matters but only to a certain extent
@@allyoucan69 true. But jackie is already at the limit on cornering wise. But he is slowww compare to others on straight especially on certain track like COTA. IMHO improving straight line speed will result a much faster time than cornering speed - at least for jackie since the supra is limited by its weight.
