Man, I've probably watched this a hundred times and I am still so blown away. I don't know any other amv that changes the narrative so much through editing to create an almost fanfic abridged movie version of FMA without Alphonse accompanying Ed throughout the story. I was privileged enough to see it back when the creator was still on TH-cam and I am so grateful that you've kept it alive so we didn't lose a genuine piece of art. Silvermoon was a legit genius and I would be shocked if he isn't making incredible art now still.
God, it's hard to image that it's been 7 years since this amv first came out (back in 2006).. I feel more than just a little nostalgic. Times were so much simpler then..and now..ugh now I'm so much older and shit.. dsfkjhsajgh. Still an epic AMV to this day. I'd even dare to say it's a classic.
I’ll still return year after year, I’ll be here till I pass I’m sure. I’ll never get over just how this video has stuck with me all these years. THE amv of all time. Thank you, truly.
I came back just to see if this amv was still on TH-cam. I remember watching it oh so long ago. Hell, I still have the original mp4 file of this that I downloaded using a TH-cam converter. Oh the memories.
It's AMVs like this that remind me of why I spent five years obsessing over FMA. This brings back many memories and emotions that I don't think will ever leave me.
The ending wasn't bad. It was made that way to give an intended effect and to get the meaning to the audience. No matter where Ed and Al were they always cared for each other and were determined to do what they could. They learned some of the realities of the world and gave up on their dream that they pursued because some things were more important. They learned that the world does not revolve around them and that they had to help what was around them. It didn't matter which world they were in.
Ok so this is nerdy but I used to be heavily into encoding video as a young lad, I would have used my own custom encoding settings for this video for optimal quality on TH-cam, glad someone noticed!
So glad to see this legendary amv live on. I saw it way before I actually got into full metal alchemist and thought the entire anime was a quest to save the brother he lost.
This series is just so very... It has this hold on you that WILL NOT let you go, even after the series is finished. And you won't want it to. This is what anime can BE when the creators put their hearts into it. And for that I thank them.
I have nothing to say after watching this.... it was amazing, just amazing. This, right here, is something for all FullMetal Alchemist amv makers to aspire to. It truly, 100%, is the best FullMetal Alchemist AMV out there. Bravo!
the makers of the first did a phenomenal job to make such a great anime even know the manga wasnt even finished. very original. And tremendous amv you got my vote!
They're talking about the overall morale of the anime. Both the first anime and Brotherhood have so many little things in there that connect with our everyday world, and both the stories are overall amazing.
CHILDISH?! Wow you made my day xD your such an idiot dude. Now I don't like the war between FMA and FMAB, I think it's stupid as shit, but Brotherhood is better. It follows the manga anyways, so it has originality. O and something being more classic doesn't make anything more original. Today's video games aren't as "classic" as things like the Super Mario for N64, but today's games are substantially better anyways. Naruto: Shippuden is better than the first Naruto series by a shit ton. It's like an expansion to a game, while all the elements of the original game are still there it adds new and better things. It's not childish, there aren't many childish animes... I mean if you want your child watching an anime where people get there limbs ripped off and an anime with a god damn war in it then sure I GUESS THAT IS CHILDISH FOR YOU. Fucking idiot...
Well, your language and crude analogies certainly don't support your argument. By your logic, you say that the Star Wars prequels are far superior to the original trilogy, and you'd be a "fucking idiot" for saying that. In any case, FMAB was childish in how they handled certain moments that the original dealt with superbly, largely because Brotherhood follows a medium that was largely aimed at a younger audience (and even if older ppl followed it, doesn't change the fact that it was meant for a YOUNGER AUDIENCE), whereas the first anime, in an attempt to appeal to a broader TV audience went for a bigger scope. Its wildly successful movie certainly reflected this.
I'm normally so helplessly unable to feel any appreciation for this type of music. Thankfully, there exist videos like this that enable me to feel such a depth of expressiveness from such compositions--a depth that I would otherwise sworn blind was impossible. Absolutely stellar. Thank you so much!
Oh my god... I remember watching this 5 years ago when it first came out by the original uploader. It was so epic, but she took it down for some reason. I haven't seen it since, and I just found it... I praise you for uploading this (even though it was 4 years ago) THANK YOU.
ppl say brotherhood is more epic but the old series i feel was way more better n more emotions in it n just watchin this amv makes me realize even more how even more awesome the old series really was
Why do the best FMA AMVs have so many Spoilers? Anyway, artfully done, beautiful. The love and care is evident in this. Kudos to the creator. The only flaw is in the flaws of the source material, the 2003 version. itself. So much bologna, I pray everynight all who became fans through the older show either read the mangas or watched Brotherhood, and didn't stay convinced that THIS was how the story went.
damn, I used to watch it every night before sleep in 2007. Can't believe it was 17 years ago... Still this AMV is so good. Too bad this is the only good song from the whole album (didn't listen to other albums).
I've been watching anime ever since I could. I've watch thousands of amv. I might have to say this one is on my tom list of done above and beyond. Hours had to have been put into this to get the same feelings of music to images. Perfect.
the entire AMV is based around the fact that Al was never put into the armor. its a "what if" AMV where a lot of things are different, its not misleading, its amazing.
Oh thank jesus Someone got the video before he had closed his account or it was removed. This was my favorite AMV and it still is, the only one that EVER gave me chills. (S)he put a lot of work into it (:
omg i love this brings me back memories of ed. that feeling just comes back. made me cry because i havent watch this in forever. i miss it just popped up out of nowhere. I'm crying so many memories of anime books and just. it makes me cry
I've been following FMA from since the first series came out on Adult Swim in 2004...I was 13 years old then. Now sitting here, 20 years old and not really much of an anime fan now days it is STILL not only the best anime I've seen in my life but the best SHOW I have seen in my life and I find myself having a deep connection with it. The series will forever remain in my heart. And I recommend to new fans to watch BOTH series regardless to BH following the manga. Hell, read the manga too!
Amazing. Utterly amazing. I couldn't look away and my voice wouldn't work when watching this. I was awe struck. Amazing. This one video has earned my subscription.
I like how its sort of AU, not showing alphonse after the human transmutation event, like al died that day and ed had to go it alone, I think its an interesting take on the story!
The anime is about two young alchemists on a great adventure :) Lol its a bit more complicated than that. My advice would just be to buy this series on dvd and watch it all, there basically a 0 percent chance that you won't love this anime.
i like how you changed the story and made it seem like he lost his brother trying to bring his mom back. Then how he got his brother back in the end from the dead
I remember watching this at a measly 3000+ views, glad to see it got more attention, sad to know how much older I am now then I was when I first watched this haha
The music is called,
Submersed - Hollow
... like this comment so everyone can see! x3
Omfg i searching it 10 years, ty
Man, I've probably watched this a hundred times and I am still so blown away. Quite an amazing series
Her editing skills still hold's up to this day.
18 years later and here we still are! I’m so glad this is still out there.
Если бы первый сериал был таким эпичным, то к нему не было бы претензии.
Автор - ты молодец.
До сих пор пересматриваем и пьянствуем =)
Damn I haven't seen this amv in years!... Glad it's still on here and I've found it again :)
Find again
2021. This amv has aged like fine wine. This and jihaku-best of you will hold the test of time.

I couldn't agree more FMA: Original got me into anime. Still my favourite anime. Hands down.
Now this is how you make an AMV!
The original Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 was one of my very firsts. I'm proud to say that...
Warriorcat666 Same here.
I came back just to see if this amv was still on TH-cam. I remember watching it oh so long ago. Hell, I still have the original mp4 file of this that I downloaded using a TH-cam converter. Oh the memories.
11 years since I first watched this. How time flies, Still a great amv
after watching this AMV about 20 + times threw out the years, it still gives me chills every time i watch it.
2021. Still one of the most amazing amv's I have ever watched.
2020 and I keep watching this videos
It's AMVs like this that remind me of why I spent five years obsessing over FMA. This brings back many memories and emotions that I don't think will ever leave me.
This video has been blocked in Germany due to copyright claims on the audio!
Poor German people :(
now its not
Wow ppl weren't kidding when they said this is the best fma amv ever!! This is incredible!!
I like how this person used the original full metal, instead of the brother hood version.
Vi esse vídeo a 15 anos atrás, e msm assim continua Incrível .. 🥳
Обожаю экранизацию 2003 года. Почему все говорят, что она не динамичная... Я смотрела эту трогательную и лушевную историю на одном дыхании.

I love it too, it's awesome!
THIS WAS MY FAVOURITE FRIKKIN AMV! They don't make 'em like this anymore!
I'm right with you there :)
this anime has taught me so much more than brotherhood this was such an awesome show
This is amazing, upload in 2007 with this good quality.
I wonder if silvermoon ever comes back and watches their own masterpiece...
Probably has made greater masterpieces since then.
2:26 Breaks my heart when I see Al smiling away like that. :(
Man this brings me back, back to the days of when AMV making required a lot of skill and time.
first view 2007
now viewing 2018
good as always!
This series is just so very... It has this hold on you that WILL NOT let you go, even after the series is finished. And you won't want it to.
This is what anime can BE when the creators put their hearts into it. And for that I thank them.
2018 still ONE of the BEST AMV ever!
seeing this since 2006!
I like this FMA of 2003 much more then FMA: Brotherhood and this AMV is the best.
16 years after loving this video i finally followed
And silvermoon is also the creator of the "She's Just Oblivious" amv for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.. *[faint]*
I have nothing to say after watching this.... it was amazing, just amazing. This, right here, is something for all FullMetal Alchemist amv makers to aspire to. It truly, 100%, is the best FullMetal Alchemist AMV out there. Bravo!
Hello from 2019
I still love this amv
the makers of the first did a phenomenal job to make such a great anime even know the manga wasnt even finished. very original. And tremendous amv you got my vote!
This was SO good! I never heard this song before, but I love it! You did a great job matching the song to fullmetal alchemist. Nicely done! XD
Your editing was so ahead of its time for youtube, it still holds up now.
From which band is the song?
Hollow
one of the greatest AMVs I have ever seen. That outro holy
esse é top.nota 10
They're talking about the overall morale of the anime. Both the first anime and Brotherhood have so many little things in there that connect with our everyday world, and both the stories are overall amazing.
still watching in 2018
So many good AMVs lost their fight with YT and forever gone, it's good to see some of the old ones that survived.
little overkill on the effects
sounds like a Brotherhood fan.
Derek Bates Your putting fans of FMA, the entire series in total, in different groups? People these days.... so baka.
IceWolfShadow1 NO, wuts baka is considering that childish show Brotherhood is on par with a classic that is the original.
CHILDISH?! Wow you made my day xD your such an idiot dude. Now I don't like the war between FMA and FMAB, I think it's stupid as shit, but Brotherhood is better. Had to come back and watch this
The best Amv of all time
man this is is like an amv classic
I'm normally so helplessly unable to feel any appreciation for this type of music. Thankfully, there exist videos like this that enable me to feel such a depth of expressiveness from such compositions--a depth that I would otherwise sworn blind was impossible. Absolutely stellar. Thank you so much!
fma is one of the best anime to make an AMV about, combined with the best special effects and the most fitting music, its a perfect AMV.
The AMV tells a story of FMA
It's amazing how epic this video is! Whoever did this is so EPIC!!!!!!!!
Oh my god... I remember watching this 5 years ago when it first came out by the original uploader. It was so epic, but she took it down for some reason. I haven't seen it since, and I just found it... I praise you for uploading this (even though it was 4 years ago) THANK YOU.
See this is the type of amv I love to see. The editing is so good. It’s emotionally impacting
ppl say brotherhood is more epic but the old series i feel was way more better n more emotions in it n just watchin this amv makes me realize even more how even more awesome the old series really was
my favorite amv of all time

I remember watching it from game magazine CD/DVD bonus materials way back in the days, when I was a kid
Hella nostalgic
That's such a strange place to find the AMV!
Esse foi o primeiro Amv que vi na minha vida hehe
89 people were jealous of this editors talent and pushed the 'dislike' button out of spite. ;)
Back when the creator had it up on youtube omg, first FMA amv I ever saw.
Awesome song + awesome anime = awesome AMV. Very simple editing, but that simple editing was taken to the max. That is the mark of an amazing editor.
Fullmetal Alchemist is such a good anime
the entire AMV is based around the fact that Al was never put into the armor. its a "what if" AMV where a lot of things are different, its not misleading, its amazing.
Damn. I am absolutely speechless. I have seen many AMVs (never made any, but love to watch) and I have to say that this is among my top 5.
Alchemy, chemistry just stepped up a level.
Oh thank jesus
Someone got the video before he had closed his account or it was removed. This was my favorite AMV and it still is, the only one that EVER gave me chills.
(S)he put a lot of work into it (:
omg i love this brings me back memories of ed. that feeling just comes back.
made me cry because i havent watch this in forever. i miss it just popped up out of nowhere.
I'm crying so many memories of anime books and just.
it makes me cry
... No words to say how awesome that was
This video is really awesome. I mean you could feel the emotions from both the sound and the an. Respect to the one who made this.
This is the best Amv I have ever seen.
one of the best amvs I've ever seen, it makes me sad it isn't for brotherhood
great job, cant believe i stopped watching this anime.

This is a master piece and you have a good taste in music.
Amazing. Utterly amazing. I couldn't look away and my voice wouldn't work when watching this. I was awe struck. Amazing. This one video has earned my subscription.
your right, i do love it :). It really is an awesome Fullmetal amv. props to you, Askitaka.
Easily the best FMA vid ever made and possibly one of the best AMV's ever made well done!
. . . That was fucking amazing. Whoever made this, it was amazing how they switched the scenes up, making it look like a completely different story.
This is the best amv from the first anime ever!!!
really...one of the best amv´s ever made. i havent seen this anime. compare with what?
Very well made amv
i like how you changed the story
and made it seem like he lost his brother trying to bring his mom back. Then how he got his brother back in the end from the dead
I remember watching this at a measly 3000+ views, glad to see it got more attention, sad to know how much older I am now then I was when I first watched this haha
