Great to see that your decluttered places stay tidy and organized! I love 2nd and 3rd passes! Great job.

Melissa, here are some encouraging words for you. You mentioned your closets, drawers etc. are clean & organized & it's the messy areas out in the open now. I will tell you if this is the case then be really proud because my friend you have come a long way. We all from time to time have messy areas but you have gotten the hidden areas under control. Thats the hardest part. You have accomplished getting the base of your home under control & now day by day you'll see that the open areas will fall into place as well. Just be sure everything /item "has a home" & your family knows where every item's homes is. Be patient with yourself. I think you've done an amazing job!

For your cabinet with the cleaning bottles and paper towels, I would put all the paper towels above as they fit well, and put all the cleaning bottles down below. And for a more aesthetic look, you can put them in a bin of some sort.

That’s a great idea! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I think putting the paper towels on the top shelf and the cleaning supplies on bottom in bins or baskets will probably be what I do. Thanks so much for the tip! ♥️

December is my declutter month for most of the house. I've done this for a few years, and it works well for me.
I don't touch my husband's stuff - a closet, the bonus room, and our home office are all his territory. However, I have boxes with "to be donated or recycled" written on them and in his spaces. I clear those out multiple times a year, as he will place things in them when he sees fit. Staples recycles so many items (not just electronics!) and that helped him feel less inclined to keep items in his office.
I wonder how that museum gel would stand up in our Florida humidity. I'd love to have your clean, clear drawer look!

Hi Kimberly! December is a great month for decluttering! Especially with the new things you will get during Christmas time and a great way to start the new year. I need to put a box out for my husband hopefully that will help his hoarding lol! I’ll let you know how the gel does with our humidity! The real test will become summertime 😂 Thanks for watching! ♥️

In your last video you asked about something to get those old baby clothes/ blankets white again. Try "bluing". Its sold in the laundry supplies. It whitens any fabric. Its amazing stuff.

I did a ruthless decluttering for the first 9 months of this year. Starting in Jan 2025 I’m going to start deep cleaning going room by room. I’m not waiting for Spring. I also have some touch up painting to do on the kitchen cabinets.

Hi Cynthia! Love that you decluttered. It’s SO cleansing I swear. The more I purge, the more I want to get rid of more. I am also not waiting for Spring. It’s too much. I want to break it up by room and just work on it slowly . Good luck and thanks for watching! ♥️

You are doing so well! Biannually (when you do the smoke detectors or January/July) you can hunt for the expiration dates. If you haven't used something consider not replacing it. I did this recently with baking powder. I replaced it twice because you are 'supposed to have it'??? Then I stopped myself and thought. 😂😂😂I can be slow sometimes. 🐢😂 You might want to consider placing a drying mat underneath your scrubber for water absorption. I hang mine and the few drips just go into the tub. I have a bottle brush by my sink that is suctioned upright and drains into the kitchen sink. The last brush actually hangs from a wire shelf by the litter box and is used only monthly and only for it.

What essential oils / start kit would you recommend? I've never used a diffuser before. Would love some advice! Do you remember where you got the little boxes at the top of your closet? The gray ones. This video was a fun reminder we can always eliminate more!

@@TDGenX Hey TD! I’ll say sorry ahead of time for the long response, but I really love essential oils! I use Plant Therapy. They’re high quality, but also more affordable than some other brands.
Essential oils are pretty easy to use, just add the oil you like to a diffuser w water. How many drops depends on the size of your diffuser. Consider the size of the room as well. For example, I use less oil drops in my living room vs my kitchen. The diffuser directions will usually tell you how much to add, but 5-7 should be a good general number to go by. Most are safe for animals, but double check when you get new ones.
You can buy individual oils, like lavender or lemon. They can be used alone, or blended together. I use lavender in my diffuser every night by itself. It’s my all time fav. I also like to combine lavender and peppermint together downstairs sometimes bc it reminds me of a spa.
An example of combining them: I needed some motivation today so I googled motivational blends, and put some Spearmint, Bergamot, and Eucalyptus together. There are actual recipe cards for different combos online.
You can also buy premade blends that combine several oils. For example, one of my personal fav blends from Plant Therapy is called “Relax”. It has Lavender, Marjoram, Mandarin, Patchouli, Geranium Egyptian, and Chamomile Roman. It’s meant to encourage a sense of ease.
Some of the blends might help w coughs, relaxation, stress, etc. You can search on their site what you’re looking for and different options come up (stress, sleep, worry, sick).
That’s one of my fav things of essential oils - yes they smell good (most), but they can be used to help you. I will run “Germ Fighter” when one of us is sick for example. It’s a premade blend. When I have a cough I might also just use Eucalyptus by itself.
You can also run an oil simply bc it smells good. I’ve been using “Candy Cane” blend lately in my kitchen bc it smells like Christmas. You just have to experiment w the different oils to see what you like. I love the lavender and peppermint, but my daughter doesn’t.
You can also blend some together with fractionated coconut oil and use it on your skin. Don’t apply straight essential oils to your skin though w/out prediluting with a carrier oil.
Here is a link to the diffuser I use in my kitchen: a.co/d/3mB7pXD
I know you have young kids - there are many more options on Amazon or even Walmart the are plastic and less breakable (and also more budget friendly).
      Hopefully this helps lol!!
