My high school band director, Carl Dephouse, was a tubist in the band and also equipment manager for the Russia Tour. The photo is the band playing the Creston Saxophone Concerto with Donald Sinta as soloist. The end of the Weber is a mind-blower.

Between Chester Overture and the von Weber piece is "The Three Trumpeters".

Rather accomplished clarinet playing on the Weber piece too! Richard Kruse was principal clarinet I believe.

Before the Weber there is some kind of novelty number for muted trumpets. Nicely played.

The Three Trumpeters [Agostini] was played by the entire section, divided into 3 groups. No mutes as I recall.

My former trumpet teacher, Don Tison, was solo cornet in this band!

Byron "Barney" Pierson sat next to Don at "M" and in symphony orchestras after. Barney played the top note at the end of the trio.
