I feel that rare books are the lifeblood of the academic instinct in man. From the arcane codex of the prehistoric priest, to the underground street scene zines of the 1990's. A rare tome of knowledge, in any format, is a window into the depths of the human experience.
You have been a great resource to me in my business! I have now been selling rare books full time for more than 8 months and I’m very grateful for creators like you. I look forward to working with you in the future!
Long form, short form....doesn't matter. Say what you have to say. Those that enjoy, will follow. I particularly enjoy the deep philosophy mixed with the modern media humor! Please continue to bury smiles within your presentations. The exposure to items most of us will never see is a gift. Thank you.
I just recently discovered you and am in awe! My daughter will be studying public history/library science and will, ultimately, be an archivist. I love sharing the information you give us with her!!
I’ve been watching various antiquarian book collectors for several years now and I am extremely interested in creating a collection of my own. I’ve also especially been drawn to books on the occult, older systems of symbology, theology, and science. I truly adore the history of it all.
I’m not new to antiquarian books, but I am new to your TH-cam account and I’m excited to have the chance to learn from you and see some amazing rare finds. Thank you for sharing. 🤓
I just saw your book giveaway on IG, and it said to comment on YT. I did it immediately. Id absolutely love the religious text.. the history is extraordinary. God bless you sir.
2024 rare book give away. I subscribed even though I don't have to. I love antique books. Just looking at them leaves me excited. The real treasure though is how they show the steps we have taken as a species in our knowledge. It's so amazing to watch your videos and dream of the hidden gems you have.
Absolutely fascinating. So excited to find your channel! I love the idea of books as survivors. There are few objects that outlive generations and pass along knowledge. Art and books are my favorite of those! Thanks for creating these videos and preserving these precious pages!
Fantastic books! as always you have all my respect! the books you offer are particular, rare and interesting! The bindings of the specimens are beautiful!
The acquisition of a profound appreciation for literature, inherited from my father during our residence amidst the verdant expanse of the Venezuelan Amazon, has paved the way for a transformative chapter in my life. Now afforded the privilege of dwelling in this venerable land, replete with repositories of human wisdom, the stewardship of these literary troves assumes a profound significance-an endeavor to safeguard the annals of history for posterity. It is, undeniably, an extraordinary odyssey across the tapestry of time and space.
It's been my dream since my teens to collect rare/old/odd/esoteric books. Very cool that you get to actually do it! Old books with strange artwork are my favorite. It's like holding a very rare and specific point in history that most humans alive will never get to see. True treasures!
I like the long form. I don't agree with TH-cam's idiotic algorithm that's trying to do Tiktok. Seems like you're getting up there on subscribers though, to 10K, which should get you a plaque, so hopefully that will allow for more of the long form content pieces.
In the darkness of the night, we ride, Through the fire and the flames, side by side, With our steel in hand, and our hearts of pride, We're the warriors of the night, our spirits cannot hide.
Love old books...the look..the texture of the paper...the smell of the past....an old book is like a friend of the past...thanks for posting such wonderful books!
I am forwarding this to a person connected with Manoogian Museum in Southfield, MI which reconstructs the history of the Armenian people through the ages. “The museum houses an eclectic collection that spans more than three millennia, bringing coherence to the Armenian people’s history, which is fraught with hardships and glories.”
My mother was a diligent Methodist throughout her life. She died nine years ago and sadly I did not get any of her old religious texts when she died. I have been doing a bit of research into religious hymn writing after getting an antique Bilhorn folding organ and yesterday picked up an old big print Methodist hymn book from 1933 published for Australia and New Zealand where I live. I got it at my local thrift store. While the book is nothing compared to the books you have, it was published not long after my mother was born and adds to the history of New Zealand, which is a young country anyway. I mentioned a bat night light on your instagram giveaway story and seeing your light in this video I think you need to find an antique bat night light to light up your bookshelf!
Long time subscriber! I collect old Bibles, Torahs, Qurans, and any other religious books I can find from the 1700s and 1800s! I’m American but lived in remote Scotland for almost a decade and would always find the most unreal (and unwanted!) religious books hundreds of years old at random antique shops in random villages. I would buy them for a mere few £ each find, each time my mind blown no one wanted them. It brings great pride to know I’m helping preserve history. I also make sure to read every word of every book I find. There is unending treasure and wisdom in the books from ages ago! Thanks for always putting out this important content!
I’ve recently been going through a very hard time in my life and I’ve found solace in books of antiquity. I’m interested in starting a collection and I’m not sure where to begin. Your content is very refreshing in a world filled with constant change and it’s been a nice escape for me. I messaged you about the price of a book but my current financial situation doesn’t allow me to spend the extra money. So I entered your book giveaway with hopes of starting a collection of books from the 16th and 17th century. I have a small collection of books from the early 60’s that I’ve become very proud of but something about books much older has always been a fascination of mine. Anyway, thank you for your content and I hope you continue creating for a long time to come!
New Follower Intrested in the giveaways I’m a collector and have a magical spark for finding fun collectables. I’m pulling my hair out in anticipation/woodcuts lol 👀 🔥
You know what friend... You're doing great. You have a really good channel, I follow you on like two platforms now. The books you show us make me so happy, it's basically a hobby to watch your stuff at this point 😂 and the history is just crazy, you bring ancient people back to life... Thank you for that. Happy new year Adam.
As an antiquarian map collector, how could I not subscribe? What a fascinating channel. Personally I don’t get the voice reference as it’s always struck me as distinguished and of great character! Happy New Year!
Coming from your Instagram, I am so happy to see these long form videos. I would absolutely love to win the 15th and 17th century manuscript fragments. Cheers to 2024 may it be eventful yet peaceful 🥂
I wish you and Rebecca would start a show where you chase down rare books and then present it all on TH-cam.
Does Rebecca have a channel ?
@@GiftedUplifted I haven’t seen one. If you do, LMK!
