Haven’t seen an air show in a long time. Really enjoyed that. The Mustang and the Spitfire especially. Such pivotal planes in the history of the world.
Nick, as a fan I am gutted you didn't come and say hello to us on the red arrows display tent. I've never been to Paignton before but loved it, we even got treated to a night on the water aboard the Dart Princess as we felt left out seeing you all out on the water. Glad you enjoyed the show, we work hard to keep the pilots in the sky.
Sir Nick, greetings! This is one of my favorite SB2 videos of the year. We just had the commemoration of D-Day yesterday and while I just watched this fantastic video, WWII planes are flying over my own head, as we are having WWII Airshow and display weekend, here at our airport in Reading PA. I flew for 30 years in the Air Force, basically my whole career so I'm just in heaven right now! Thank you, as always, for everything you share with us! Cheers, to you, Sir Nick!
The Red Arrows are evidently fans of Aquaholic - they'd heard you were around and came to pay their respects! Maybe they were marking you reaching 500k subscribers??
What a fabulous way to view an airshow - Ringside seats while floating aboard one's own pocket of serenity, with all the comforts you could want, and the peace cut only by the thunderous roar of snot-nosed jockeys buzzing your tower at over 400 knotts!! Love the shirt, love the film references!!
Brilliant video. The best of British, The Red Arrows, the Typhoon and Aquaholic and Smugglers Blues 2, it doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for sharing Nick, absolutely fantastic. Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍 👌 😀
Trying to keep my emotions in check here watching our brave boys in the air. I have so much respect for these chaps bravery and commitment its hard to put into words. Bravo men, and clear sky's ahead ...G...
Dear Nick, here a great fan from Holland. We just bought our own Leader 805, we will pick it up coming Friday. I just wanted to thank you for all great content and advice. “I own it because I think that, not I the other way around”. Legendary…
What a great day weather wise for an air show. You need an engine change in Smugglers Nick. A Merlin engine, No other sound in the world like it. Pure Goose bumps every time I hear one. Red Arrows are an institution, but have you ever seen the Italian Air display team? Tricolore Italia I think they're called. They fly like Italians drive Fearrai's. You would have teeth marks in your knuckles. I was lucky to see them at an air show. They dont know about altitude.
Nicely done. It's always a privilege to see the Red Arrows and some older aircraft I may have glued together Airfix models of an uncomfortably long time ago.
Now there’s a half a million good reasons to love our Aquaholic you tube channel. Thank you Nick for your dedication in bringing us so many wonderful yacht tours When I try to think of my favourite one I’m flooded with many memories… that’s a good sign . Sail on Sailor 😃
those are the sounds of freedom. oh how i admire the UK military of yesteryear and how i lament for it now. glad you were able to see the demonstration team and the restored war birds. remembrances or great times.
Perfect celebratory sort of video to coincide with breaking the half million subs mark, Nick! Well done, and very much deserved, no question. Have been binging your videos since I stumbled on the channel. Congrats again and thanks for sharing your love and knowledge of this industry with the rest of us over the years - you make the content very accessible and comprehensible even to nautical novices such a myself, so cheers to that 🍻
Absolutely brilliant Nick! Your seats and setting was remarkable, you couldn’t have been better positioned. My personal favourite WWII fighter plane is of course the iconic Spitfire with her unmistakable profile and V12 roar. I grew up in the airline industry and we loved motor yachting as well. But never the two simultaneously, well done combining these two loves. It’s tomorrow your time, so have a great weekend, cheers and thank you Nick.
Another tour de force! Fantastic air show with wonderful shots of the aircraft, especially the Typhoon and the Red Arrows. Your positioning was perfect for capturing the skills of the pilots. Followed by that idyllic run back to the marina. smugglers 2 really looks like she is running on rails and could do that speed all day! I was fortunate enough to have some involvement in the Eurofighter/Typhoon development programme, spending 5 years (1990 to 1995) in Munich working in the NATO Agency (NETMA) responsible for overseeing the development and production of Eurofighter by the five partner countries. 5 of the best years of my life. Thanks again for sharing another wonderful day!
It's always a highlight whenever you post a video of yourself and Smugglers Blues 2 nick and this latest one was no exception. Great air show nick thank you for sharing it with us all. The james Bond music on the return trip was a fitting end to a beautiful day as well, nick.
Thanks Nick, that was great! Nothing beats sitting on a boat for the best views. Years ago at the Windermere air show (not been one there since 🫤), I remember bumping into my boss who had a nice boat on the lake. He invited me and my daughter aboard, so we watched the show from the fly bridge and I pretended I was rich 😁👍🏻
I got to say that was a brilliant video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the air display. Thanks for sharing it with us. Look forward to many more enjoy your boats shows
The Sea Fury is my fav fighter of the WW2 era (although it was operational only from late 1945 so just after the war), and arguably the best of its generation.
You nailed it Nic! Thank you for an awesome day. Being landlocked in Arizona with a large family, boating is only a dream for me, but today you made boating come alive and real with an airshow to boot. I'll will have great dreams tonight!
Congrats Nick on hitting 500,000 subscribers on AQUAHOLIC! Not many TH-cam channels get an airshow to celebrate their achievement! Keep boating and soaring, Nick!
A few years ago we were kayaking the Fisher Island Sound just south of the Groton-New London (CT, USA) airport. We hadn't seen the announcement and were quite surprised (and elated) when, while bobbing in our 12-ft plastic boats, we had a couple of P-51 Mustangs and a B-29 Flying Fortress come overhead quite low. It's a special experience when you're in a boat. Thanks for the video!
Excellent trip Nick spectacular Red Arrows display nicely done holics for the big target reached well done Arrows for recognising the Aquahollic milestone and a spot of Toto on the way home.. look forward to the next one 😎👍
AWESOME video, Nick! The Red Arrows are world class! This Yank for one is very happy we're on the same side! It was funny to see Tracy holding on for dear life with both hands--just like my wife does--and one wonders how many good shots Adrian got that with that super long 450mm lens on a rocking boat (my money's on Tracy's phone camera), but it looks like all three of you had a great time, and made lots of memories. That's the whole idea, isn't it? OH! And you need a longer pole for your jack!
Thanks for the air and water show. We have an air and water show in Chicago every year but I've never seen it from the water so thank you for the different perspective.
Thoroughly enjoyed that Nick. Thank you. We were watching from the house which is in an elevated position in Paignton, top of Marldon Road, with a magnificent view across the bay. Always enjoy seeing the line of boats and cruisers arriving and getting into position out in the bay before the show starts. Hopefully next year we will be on the water watching xx
That will explain the Typhoon flying over us into Bournemouth airport then! Great video! Hope to catch you at Southampton boat show and buy you a drink to say thanks for all the videos!
Awesome stuff. The Typhoon gave you boaters/floaters a personal display, the Spit, etc brought a tear to the eye and the Red Arrows, well, they have come a long way since I were a lad last millenia!! Thanks for bringing us 'middle earth folk' along for the ride
Excellent video Nick! NOTHING compares to the sights and sounds of a Spitfire with that roaring Merlin Congrats on earning 500K subs!! Keep up the great work with the channel. Another superb video on a Friday
The sound difference between the charming old radials & the brutalist newer jets is amazing, as is the performance. Fuel flow is about the same, but jetA is cheaper....
What a wonderful, great, spectacular day on the water and a bonus air show. That Typhoon was nasty! So happy to have gone along for the ride! Thanks for bringing us all with you! God speed, fellow boaters...
Wow what a day . . Here in NZ they used the Harvards as trainers after the war . That jet was awesome and the Red Arrows are well . Unbeatable realy. Glad you had a day off . Many congrats on the half million subs . Thoroughly deserved 🍷. Till next time take care . Bye from NZ🍻🇳🇿👋twa
Great to see you out on the boat with good friends Nick🙂 our boat gets delivered to Brixham this week, so I look forward to watching next years show from the water. All the best and thanks for all the hard work, I have learnt so much from watching you over the years👍
Too busy to get there this so thanks for this video. I've seen the Red Arrows do their display in the River Dart valley, spectacular and not very peaceful. Sadly they can't any longer. Congratulations on the 500,000 subscribers, well done.
The OV-10 Bronco was a Vietnam era delight forward observation plane that could be heavily armed but a lot of them were also lightly armed and used as forward artillery observation aircraft, search and rescue, and some were rigged to let SF operators jump out of them. They could get 5 guys in full combat gear to jump out. The Bronco could be armed up with a tremendous amount of .50 cals, rockets and bombs. They were almost as deadly as the Cessna A-37B Dragonfly which were about the equivalent to a modern A-10 Warthog today in some ways. A 7.62mm mini guns in the nose and 4 hardpoints under each wing. The OV-10 though carried 4 7.62mm machine guns and also a 20mm cannon, plus it could carry AIM-9(Sidewinders...or Fox 2) air-to-air missiles. The plane was usually outfitted with 2 rocket pods, a 20 mm cannon, and either 2 500lb bombs, or 2 AIM-9 missiles
like your stainless steel ensign staff. We were in St Peterport, returned on Sunday pm. great sea conditions. Met up with Colin of the V class club. Looks like all you guys had a good view of the display
Nothing like the roar of jet engines burning 100+K of jet fuel to gets one’s heart rate up. You should see what a F4B phantom lighting up her afterburners as she pops the sound barrier at a few hundred feet above an aircraft carrier does to your senses. Good video Nick thanks.🙏🇨🇦👍

Smugglers Blue, the Red Arrows, WW2 and more modern planes, the sky is blue with fluffy clouds and a safe place to anchor what more can Nick and friends Adrian and Tracy possibly need ????? Oh yeah the airshow to begin. Looks a fun day. The Red Arrows where something else a fabulous display against the setting sun. Om fact great displsy by all planes but R.A. topped off a great day out. Hope your friend Adrian got some good photos. Congratulations on 500K watchers. Well done Nick.
That was awesome Nick thanks so much for sharing and I have never seen the Red Arrows do such an amazing show like that before. And you made a good choice to move your position. Have a good weekend 👍
