- This month of September celebrates the birth anniversaries of the two unparalleled legends, our grandfather Suchindram Sri S P Sivasubramaniam and Lalgudi Sri G Jayaraman!
Here we offer our humble tribute to our grandfather as we celebrate his 103rd birth anniversary today and also to our huge inspiration, Lalgudi Sir whose 90th birth anniversary falls on the 17th of this month.
Sangamam - a unique medley comprising compositions of these two greats! with a unique combination of vocals, violin & Konnakol.
It has always been my dream to learn a percussion instrument, and learning this art of konnakkol during this Covid period, was like a dream come true for me!
My heartfelt thanks to Sri K U Jayachandra Rao for guiding me in this journey of learning this great art form.
We hope you all enjoy this unique presentation as much as we did creating this!

"khamas -medley" . I , am wonderstruck ; what level of "puniyam" should have been done by Akkarai sisters , to achieve such an elevated level of "saraswathi -kataaksham " but for which , such an exemplary level of music could'nt be rendered . Divinity, melody , rhythm , absolutely mesmerising !

After going on listening only film songs for 29 years, and now being just 3 years old to carnatic music field I always feel so much sad within myself that why this kind of gems are getting so much less views whereas movie songs are followed so largely by people. Then I myself console that, not everyone can dream of becoming IAS or IPS, not everyone can afford to buy the BMW, Benz, Rolls royce. (I am not against anyone's choices. But I wish Indian classical music to reach everyone's heart)
Even by myself had no clue about how it tastes untill I started to follow it!!

The medley was so beautifully conceptualized with Konnakkol (vocal presentation of percussion syllables) by Akkarai Sornalatha as the surprise element. I am in loss of words, marveling at this multi-talented duo! A very unique Khamas medley that I will forever cherish. Thank you Akkarai Sisters for this beauty! I wish today's musicians promote this great patriotic song in their concerts, and take it to millions of rasikas, especially the youngsters of Tamil Nadu!

It occurs in between charaNam 'தித்திக்கும் தமிழ்' and the swara sAhithyam 'இன்பத் தமிழ்.'
Can you please include the missing lines? The tremendous effort you have put in, in presenting this song deserves it to be made really perfect. Excuse me if you think I am a hard-to-please-task-master! :)
Those lines are from Sri Lalgudi G Jayaraman Sir’s Tillana. As you may see the title, we have fused two compositions.
