I blurred out the actual killing scene because I actually had really hard time watching it - same reason why I didn't explore much of the other dialogue relating to Gale being dead. All your other companions turn against you if you don't manage to deceive them, the reason why Astarion is still there is that he's my bf's character in this run, he's playing Astarion origin. In the warning dialogues, all other options give the "as in now and not first light morning" and "scewer my heart" responses from Gale. Being only friends with him does change fundamentally the dialogue with the butler, but not much with Gale other than the line shown and his response to "is it all right" is the same "chin up" comment.
