    I always used to take the fuse out of the holder as it could have a jumper around the back that you can't see without removing the fuse, have found a couple in the past.
    In the old days the time switch was always fed from the supply side of the meter so the customer wasn't paying to the T/S.

    Really enjoyed this and found it educational. On the back of this video I have subscribed to your channel
    2 Questions if I may
    1) Do the screws in the meter and cut out not need to be tighten to a specific torque of Xnm (newton meters)?
    2) Why is a double poll isolator not fitted after the meter?

      Some companies use torque screwdriver, some don't, the is no set rule , not a fan of them myself as if the torque is incorrectly set you in a pickle , when tightening by hand , once you feel the spring of the tight screw through your wrist that's tight enough . Ref an isolator you would only fit one as a customer request as the job was a like for like recert / upgrade . Thanks for subscribing. Please watch my other videos and let your friends etc know about the channel , if you need any more information just ask 👍

    How do you know that the contactor is operational on completion of the changeover?

      The office can dial into the meter and set the timer in it to operate the contactor as a test .

    Is it not good practice to install an isolator between the meter an consumer unit.

      Only when requested by the customer , metering companies will not fit them otherwise due to cost .

    Very surprised you use the terms live and neutral and not phase and neutral as they are both considered to be live conductors.

    Why once the supply is proved dead at the meter terminals, do you have to then test at every point on the tails?.
    Would’ve also thought that the least amount of times you remove the cutout terminal shield the better.

      It's meter company specific regarding dead testing blocks/Isolators before an exchange, some do , some don't , I prefer to test all equipment I work to prove it's safe . Thanks for you view though .

      @@MarksElectricMeterExchanges No worries, just seeing at a general view from someone not approved to work on meters.

    What is the point of this clock/Contactor? What does it supposed to do?

    • @MarksElectricMeterExchanges
      @MarksElectricMeterExchanges  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The contactor that was fitted to replace the timeclock is switching the customers own contactor built into the building , for example a church where a 5 terminal meter cannot be used .
