The game may suck but damn they did a good job with the music. Yoko Shimomura came back to do this, she did the music for Parasite Eve 1, Super Mario RPG, the Secret of Mana series, all of Kingdom Hearts, and FF15 to name a few.
Can't we all just get along and just ENJOY the music? I mean, the theme is all "Fight worthy," but everytime I go to enjoy some music, someone says something that starts a fight with no intention, and keeps responding to add to the fire of the fight. Just leave it alone and enjoy Squeenix's awesomeness. :3
I probably wouldn't have disliked the game if I wasn't so big on the original, since this is more of a spin off. The soundtrack was produced by the same woman who made the original soundtrack, and it's the only thing I like about it. I did hear it was a good stand alone game, but yikes. If square was looking for a way to spit on the faces of Parasite Eve fans, they achieved that pretty well with this game.

I remember those days where that amazing intro started up...and seeing that woman with glasses transform in the cafe...PE2 manages to be dark and disturbing, but never outright cheesy or corny like the original Resident Evil (it was probably an inspiration, which gives it more appeal). Nor was it a shitty bag of shit like this crap they spit out.

@Mounce2 It's not that bad that they reuse a theme for a game series. Kingdom Hearts uses Dearly Beloved to connect all of their games together under one unified title. This is just the sound everyone recognizes most from the Parasite Eve franchise. In a way, the theme embodies the series itself. In that sense then it is truer to the original games if they keep the same theme instead of abandoning it through the passage of time. :)
I didnt really like how they threw in the shower scene in there, 'cause well the shower scene in PE 2 had a purpose, to show that a boss was coming, whereas the shower scene in 3rd BD served as fanservice.

Square Enix you got lucky because of Yoko soundtrack but you ruined Aya's character and killed the franchised. i feel like the only parasite eve fan that was actually HAPPY with this title. i found it to be on par with parasite eve 1, and definately WAYYYYY better than the disappointment that was parasite eve 2. sure, its not perfect, but its every bit as unique as parasite eve 1 was back in 1999. plus, it returned to the setting of parasite eve 1 and everything just looked amazing. still not too keen on the overly sexualized aya, but it really does make sense why she is that way in the end.
Pe2 for me is far better than pe1. i dont mention the shitty 3rd birthday (because 3rd birthday is spinoff not a sequel) only blind people think 3rd birthday is good. the people that care for the playstyle only graphics etc not about the story. so better dont talk when u dont know. funny when i hear people comparing 3rd birthday with pe2 or pe1. Just better dont talk u are humiliating yourself.

This game was way too short, the difficulty curve made me want to tear my hair out upon reaching Insane mode, but the music is amazing.
The best thing about this monstrosity of a title was Shimomura's score. I actually prefer T3B version of Primal Eyes over PE1's.

The original was great! But this is EPIC! I love the upgraded sound and use of what seems to be true musical instruments throughout the song. :)
