I’ve seen a million salmon videos, shorts, whatever and have cooked it similar to this so many times. So he didn’t exactly tell me anything I don’t know, but I’m still subscribing cause he’s just pleasant to watch do his thing
I personally haven't ever seared salmon, but a seared Tuna steak with a side of pickled veggies and a little Thai coconut rice brings all the boys to the yard
It's a spoon that he was using to scoop the butter within. If you ruin your pans through that process i feel like the issue is more about you and how you cook than it is your utensils
A fun watch. I'd baste with clarified butter or ghee. The water in butter cools the pan and steams the crust. Remember why you patted the fish dry earlier. That handful of whole herb is photogenic, but it is wasting flavor. I don't put salt in my cookware if I can avoid it. Salt is both abrasive and corrosive. Seriously, a nice vid. Lovely fish. Wow.
A questão é q é um dinheiro fácil, pq não precisa entregar nada, nem produto nem serviço, é literalmente arrecadar a grana e meter no bolso, não precisa de praticamente nada além de pegar uma parte dos prêmios
I wouldnt pepper it since the pepper will just burn. Basting salmon that heavily is wild imo but do you. How you cooked 7/3 and ended up medium rare is what really escapes me. I do my salmon well and use about the same timing, so not sure whats going on there. But the real crime is no lemon.
When he baste it, notice he tilts his pan and have the salmon on the "off heat" section? hes basically using residual heal + basting to cook. At least that's my take.
That skin crunch was on point for sure.
"Basting is the coolest thing."
I love when people are in awe of simple parts of their passions.

Love this guy ever since he made the faux burnt ends out of hot dogs.
Well done sir. Well done.
I have salmon steaks in my freezer.. you got me thinking about pulling them out now 😂😂 That looks so yummy!
Love it❤
Was it slightly raw/under cooked ? It was a chunky piece of salmon… I would’ve cooked it longer to get a consistent cooking
I thought the same thing she was raw
No, it's medium, just how it should be
It’s perfect
A little known fact is that salmon, like steak, can be cooked rare/ medium whatever you want to call it
....nah he could have added 2 more minutes
Perfect. I've been cooking salmon like this since I was 13. ☺️

Looks magically delicious 😋
shouldn't use a metal utensil on non-stick

@@itssnover9000it’s a rule. Don’t mess w teflon. Cook in carbon steel if you wanna baste
@@tonygabagool you are free to be overly cautious if you wish, that's your prerogative.. but what I said still stands

You say med-high heat, but the flame in your pic is med at best. So which is it?

Medium salmon is the best 👌🏾
A fun watch.

Salt, white pepper...after cook, black pepper. It burns when cooked. S&P to taste.
Pro tip: Cajun seasoning. Thank me later
How do you know it is properly cooked in the center?
Is there a way to keep the skin on after it's cooked and I cut in to it?
❤
Little raw but looks delicious
😀👍👍
Picasso
Undercooked, gross. Should have put the thick side up against the bottom curved side of the pan after he put the butter in
Why baste the skin side and not the flesh side?
Ben Carson can cook!
I'm surprised you didnt call it sal-mon

Uncooked middle lol
It's unfinished 'chef'
Serving it skin side up it will you 3 days in jail once I'm president 😂
It was still raw…
That's undercooked
No butter!

Thickness and amount heat. It’s a demo; not a comparison of what you do at home. Let’s see your video so we can compare.
Poach. It. Then quick sear in herbs to flavor. Lemon, dill, butter sauce. Sprinkle with capers

That wasn’t undercooked.
Flaky fish is overcooked.
It's still raw😢
Flesh side down first way better. Then basting will go into the meat.
I always take the skin off before I cook. I can't stand it on there.
I'll dry *your* fish...
“You” got a technique…. Yeah I’m pretty sure you invented basting too!!
