@@jamesjohnstone5496 it was only an exhibition he did , there was the usual raffle and I was fortunate enough to win to play a frame ( i did buy lots of tickets) I can't remember the frame score but I do remember that I could win with pink and black left, he potted the pink to win. I have never been more happier to lose in my life.
@@jamesjohnstone5496 I didn't really get that close to him except from the frame, his popularity was such that it was almost impossible. I do remember him drinking milk stout in the afternoon and he was on shorts in the evening. He stayed with the owner of the club, an ex-friend of mine also played him that evening, Luke Simmonds who went on to win the world amateur and world under 21 titles, sadly he didn't do much after
He's the reason I got to love snooker, but did you know he only made 43 ranking centuries !? Sadly he was so inconsistent that pretty much any professional these days is in fact better. But lacking the flair, and that's what counts !
The reason Alex higgins was so popular and made snooker popular is simply because he was the greatest entertainer the game ever had he loved to entertain the crowds / viewer's and we loved him for that there will never be another like him ever RIP legend
keep these edits coming!!!!!!!!! can't help but think that this channel removed the famous snooker channel 'tequila' on grounds of copyright infringement, and then started making their own crazy videos.
Alex was the only reason snooker had survived because he played shots no one else would and he still potted balls with an absolutely horrendous technique
Snooker fans today simply dont realise that without Alex snooker would be NOWHERE.Without him, good and bad, snooker would have stayed with the working mens clubs and pot black.Alex really was the Hurricane who blew it all apart.Genius.
Tutorial how to become a world champion twice not playing a single safety shot for your whole career : ) I'd like to see his match against Selby and see what Alex would be able to pot.
I had the privilege of playing Alex in 1991, quite simply the greatest sporting day of my life .
How did you get on wae Alex and what waz the score

Wow Alex Higgins
2:40 reminds of judd trump shot against Higgins in WC .
Damn what a god created that man
Dont listen to everyone, be yourself. That's the lesson alex higgins would give from his gameplay

Они.сделали.Снукер..!
But no one noticed by the comments that he pocketed 2 balls and kept on playing. At the 58 second mark.

👍
His technique has always confused me, I tried using a twitching technique and the amount of times i would miscue or miss a pot was unreal
He played with so much side on some of those long pots.
Just ridiculous
