One thing I liked about the scene with the Deer is when Carl goes down both Rick and Shane sprint over to him and Rick drops down to Carl’s aid but Shane immediately takes a shooting stance and scans the area for targets out of muscle memory even though he’s disagreeing with Rick they still work like police partners.

The scene with Daryl and Rick cutting open the Walker was a tribute to Jaws Chief Brody and Hooper with the shark.
That walker they opened up in this episode actually gave me and my family a tour in atlanta of all the locations from season 1 of the show it was really interesting

You can thank Greg Nicotero and his team for the ways the Walkers look He’s been around Zombies since the 80’s when he worked with the king George Romero He’s also a great director which you’ll see later on in the series.
The Dale and Andrea situation makes me think of Kratos apologizing to Freya for saving her life. He did the right thing, yes. But as he said, the choice between life and death was not his to make and that he would never again rob her of that.
I want to mention something without really any big spoilers. They originally planned to shoot a scene where the crew return to the old people's place (from episode 4) after the CDC blew up. But found everyone there dead, by gun shots. It's never brought up in the show, the old people are never mentioned again, I don't think it's ever been revealed who killed them, but fans of the comics and show probably can easily guess who it is (Once again never brought up in the show, so not really spoilers?). I don't think they ever shot the scene, or if they did anything shot is probably deleted. Idk encase you 1 of you guys saw this, I thought you should know

I wanna address this so bad but my answer would be spoilers haha 😂
I look at the deer scene as a parent. You need to raise a kid who is capable and doesn’t hesitate to do the violence that will be necessary but his brain isn’t finished developing. How do you do it without creating a heartless psychopath. He has to also learn empathy and compassion. He has experience peaceful moments in this violent world so he won’t become a danger to everyone. It’s nuanced and complicated. Carl is going to need both sides to become a man who makes the right decisions.
And just like that you guys are in a loop of addiction to this show im telling you this will be the best few months for you guys when watching this show

Oh wow that’s a good observation with Daryl’s arrows. I never thought of that before how he assumingly uses the same arrows for killing walkers and also hunting food. I would be paranoid no amount of cleaning would be good enough from killing a Walker to using that arrow for a deer etc later on.
Just to let you know that the showrunner has changed now Frank Darabont was the showrunner for Season 1 But now Glenn Mazzara is the showrunner for Season 2 There was a lot of issues that happened behind the scenes that resulted in Frank Darabont getting fired as the showrunner But as of now in Season 2 he’s an executive producer and plus he directed this episode I thought he did a great job as the showrunner last season and a great job with the casting.
Daryl/Norman Reedus has his own show called Ride! He rides his motorcycle with some very famouse people

Fun fact: in the books, Sophia and Carl become a couple and by the end of the series are married with a daughter!

crazy how the walkers were so smart in the first 2 or 3 seasons, picking up rocks, unlocking doors, and investigating cars, but get so dumb in season 3-11

Her mental state was fucked. She couldn't make rational decisions. I feel like stopping her was right. If she still wanted to do it after her mental state got better then so be it.
Alternative reason the cars are all there, sure, some may be out of gas, but once the roadway is blocked a lot of those cars wouldn't make the off-road trip. With a semi and trailer turned over, you're not moving that out of the way, it takes heavy equipment to clear that up. It doesn't take many panicked drivers to clog a highway quite well in normal times. lose a tire to debris, someone hits the stopped vehicle, all adds to the blockage.
Mostly closed up tent, Georgia heat, dead body for weeks... Yep, likely going to be humid and very nasty smelling in there.
Based on not hearing the church bells before, I'm guessing this was a Sunday and the bells are set to ring on Sunday at certain times. (It's a Southern Baptist Church, so Sunday would be the day if they are set to ring on a specific day or days)
I am not overly familiar with Moose, but I am familiar with deer. A moose is huge by comparison, and the antlers are quite different.

Moose is like 4 to 5 times the size of a deer on average it’s bigger than a horse and its antlers alone can be 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet wide the males are 1200 to 1600 pounds and are bigger than females but the females are still huge animals anywhere from 800 to 1300 pounds

Answering your question about the Walker in the RV in the earlier seasons the showrunner was different so you'll see some Walkers seem a little smarter than the others

this is how a new season starts! i watched the deleted scenes on disc - thank god they removed them! they were going to pre-release to people who haven't read the comic an extremely important part of the plot.

In all honesty, the show heavily deviates from the comics pretty early on. The show still adapts some of the bigger events (and the characters obviously), but a lot of minor details are different especially in who lives and dies later on.
Can’t wait for them to see how each character grows. I wanna say so much but I won’t spoil anything

Try not to hate on the kids to much, they are growing up in a nightmare of a world but are still just kids they are not always gonna make the best decisions and they arent always going to listen. The walkers remain pretty much in one spot unless something draws their attention, you saw it in Atlanta when Rick first enters there were some on a bus that seemed to be just sitting there but when they heard Rick's horse they got up. Thats what happened with the ones in the church. Im glad you guys left in the bit with Carol praying in the church and she mentions Ed looking at Sophia in ways no father should. Alot of reactors think Shane goes to far when he beats up Ed and then seem to completely miss when Carol says that, its never full on mentioned but it's implied he sexually abused Sophia. There is another hint earlier when Ed says he wants Sophia to stay with him in the tent and keep him company he has very creepy look on his face so Ed got exactly what he deserved lol. Rick thought seeing the deer was the sign he had asked for and he wanted Carl to have a beautiful moment in a world that is one long never ending nightmare thats why he didnt want Shane to shoot it.

Dale took her choice away. Andrea understood exactly how bad it was. The world has ended and life will be a struggle beyond anything they was used to. Expecting gratitude for taking away a quick death versus the daily fear of being torn apart limb by limb and possibly being sick before turning is the worst option.
Also I can't stand Lori. Yes Shane aka The Punisher was a bit much but she took no accountability for her actions. Rick deserves better.
