Girl I was in your same position with my skin at your age. I wish I knew what I did now. It’s all about the food and what you put on your skin. Stop experimenting with products. Use a mild cleanser like pure glycerin and cream. Only wash once a day. Washing more than once strips the nautical oils that your skin needs to heal.
As for diet, cut refined sugars, inflammatory processed oils like canola and vegetable oil. Only use olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil. Limit eating out and dairy. I know it seems hard but it truly is what works. Doctors will only give you pills that don’t work in the long run.
Remember you are still beautiful no matter what. You got this girl!❤️

A couple skincare tips I could give from an esthi 💗
-Introduce products one at a time so you know what actually works for you
-cleanse with cool/warm h2o never hot
-always double cleanse at night if you are wearing makeup first cleanse use a micellar water or balm(don’t use makeup wipes.)
    - salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are good ingredients to treat acne but don’t over do it with them cause they can cause irritation( only use them at night and never use at the same time so you could alternate if both work for your skin type)
    - your cleanser should not make your skin feel tight or dry (if it does it’s not gentle enough)
    - your gut health can really affect your skin so eat nutrient dense foods and drink lots of water. Eat foods with probiotics and avoid high amounts of sugar.
I personally love epionce products and I used to struggle with my skin a lot but everyone’s skin is different so find what works for you! 💗💗

Avia, I’m 22 and in college going thru midterms right now and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life after so my stress levels been like a 9/10 😅. Anyways I haven’t had time to watch videos in a while but I clicked on this bc I’m taking a lil self care rest😌, and every clip made me so friggin HAPPY you have no idea. I grew up watching your family on shaytards. The nostalgia is REAL and I love seeing what y’all are up to today, especially from your sweet perspective! Just wanted to thank you for making my day brighter.❤

I’m an esthetician and a lot of times when our skin breaks out randomly our skin barrier might be in an unhealthy state! Definitely look into using snail mucin and a thick cream at night! Slugging could also help by using vitamin e or any face oil + hydrating overnight mask/thick cream! If you slug don’t do it the traditional way with Vaseline since it’s bad for acne prone skin… and anything with salicylic acid is amazing just don’t over do it:) hope this helps love💖

avia! firstly you are gorgeous and other people will barely even notice your acne so try not to let it bother you❤️ from my experience, accutane is a last resort! it can have some pretty heavy side effects so really only give it a try when you are a few years older and you have exhausted all options. the best thing for me was to make sure you are using gentle cleansers for your skin that aren’t perfumed and are non comedogenic so they don’t block your pores (like cerave) and the ordinary niacinimide is so cheap and works wonders! changing up your diet can help a lot too especially if the acne is on your cheeks, maybe try a little less dairy or fast food and lots of water, but don’t let it stress you too much! you are young and it might even clear up on its own in a few months/years. you got this!!

this!! try stripping back before you try anything dramatic - cleaner eats, gentle products and no make up days as often as possible. it can be tempting to spend loads on expensive flashy skincare but it’s often the little things!

Girl I’ve tried soooo many things throughout the years so I get how frustrating it is! Now I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gentle cleansing lotion for sensitive skin which isn’t magic or anything, but I think it’s good because it doesn’t strip my skin and doesn’t irritate it. Then I use the La Roche-Posay toleriane double repair face moisturizer with SPF 30. That’s what really helped because it’s like it changed my skin type to the way it was pre-puberty. It got rid of my cystic chin acne and oily t-zone. I kinda miss the smooth, oiled up feeling of my old skincare products and the good smell, but simplicity was worth the clear skin. Everyone’s skin is different so it might not be for you, but I think it’s worth trying! Hope you find something that works!

For your skin, I would focus on the food you’re eating. I’m sure you eat healthy, but I would cut out sugar and breads and see if that makes a difference. I used to deal with cystic acne a lot, and when I stopped eating so much sugar and switched to sourdough breads it went away. Not saying it would totally work for you but you could try. I know how you feel.

Diet can affect your skin, especially if your diet includes dairy, due to all the hormones in animal milk. Meat (especially processed meats) and eggs can cause acne too. A diet high in vegetables, fruits, grains, plant-based proteins (beans, lentils, tofu) along with some nuts (if you're not allergic) and seeds can help with your skin. I used to have really, really bad skin inflammation but changing my diet and removing meat, dairy, and eggs has done wonders for my skin when no skin creams or skin treatments (even ones my doctor prescribed) worked.

Some skincare advice: Acne on cheeks could be a number of things so make sure you are addressing the following:
    1. Change out your pillowcase every week
    2. Think back on your eating habits, acne on cheeks is related to gut health
    3. clean your beauty blender with non-scented (ivory) soap and water before using.
    4. Use non-scented cleansers/moisturizer- fragrance can cause skin irritation
I recommend Curology, I struggle with hormonal acne and I've been using them for over a year and my skin has completely cleared up.
    Hope this helps!

skincare routine before makeup will alwys help!!! i exfoliate with a natural loofah, real good making sure all the dirt is gone. i then use a toner with no alcohol, then burts bees blemish stick with tea tree oil all over my face( best skincare product ive ever used). then a water based serum/moisturizer. dont ever rub it in, slap/tap the product on and wait for it to dry a bit. rosehip oil is the last product i use. i also tap it on. its best to tap the product on as you are not pushing anything into your pores, and it helps blood flow!!

Pan Oxyl cleanser and La Roche Posay effaclar duo have worked wonders for my cystic acne on my cheeks and my biggest tip is, don’t touch!! As hard as that is to do it was only making mine spread and leaving scars. Also Cerave SA cleanser great for morning!

Hi Avia! I recommend you go see a dermatologist. My dermatologist had me try different things over a couple months and I finally saw results on the 4th month or so. I didn’t have to go on accutane. Just know that patience is key and for me personally having a dermatologist made me feel more confident that I’m on the right path towards clear skin and I’m not randomly trying different things out there. Good luck!

Hi Avia! Lisa G here! I actually suffered from Cystic Acne a few years ago and I tried not to be put on Accutane either. I was recommended the Tea Tree Skincare line from The Body Shop and it worked an entire miracle for my skin. Also invest a satin pillow case, that helps a lot too! One last thing! Mario Badescu has a drying lotion that is AMAZING for spot treatments. He also sells Dry patches that work great! Hope this helps. I promise your skin will find its balance! You’re beautiful and I really enjoy your vlogs! Best to you! lol

  • @Paintress

I studied beauty therapy and acne on the cheek area signified that it is caused by your diet, acne on the forehead is caused by stress, acne in the hairline is from incorrect hair washing, acne on the chin/jawline is hormonal. It will help by drying that area out and cleaning it at the same time.
Dairy causes a lot of acne, when I reduced my intake by about 80% I saw a huge difference within 1 week. I’d also like to say that tea tree oil can help as well as it is anti bacterial and antiseptic. Dilute a few drops in a small bowl of water and use a cotton pad to dab it on the acne prone area.

I have gone through it with acne and salicylic acid really helps unclog everything! But also I would suggest stripping back your routine and don't overload your skin with too many products because although they might all be good for you, too many things can actually make it worse!! Id recommend a gentle cleanser, Paulas choice salicylic acid toner and then just a moisturiser. try that for a few weeks to a month and let your skin get used to the new routine because these things can take time to take effect!! Hope this helps

a friend of mine who has acne prone skin uses the strawberry glow recipe BHA stuff! it’s good for blemishes! she also says the ordinary salicylic acid 2% solution is good too! she uses the strawberry stuff every few nights a week because you don’t want to over do it, and she uses the salicylic acid only on the blemish spots! you are seriously so gorgeous avia and I hope this helps❤️

Finally what helped was this face wash called AcneFree. Omg I can’t tell you how much it helped! The AcneFree little spot treatment works like MAGIC also. Now I use Neutrogena clear pore. Also, the face mask from Origins called “out of trouble” is absolutely amazing.

I know this sounds weird, but Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo worked WONDERS for my breakouts. I use a pea size amount to wash my face daily. It works really well to keep pores clean, but it will seem like it's causing more breakouts at first, but after a couple weeks of consistently using it, your skin will be so clear!!

Change your pillow case often- if not every day. Hairspray and products, oil and bacteria build up on it and we rest our cheeks against it. Also try not to lay your hand against your cheek when you sleep.
An alternative to Accutane is Spironolactone. I take it and it changed my life. Be patient though because it took about 4 months to see results and after about 6 months I stopped getting zits. The only side effect I experience is needing to pee more often. The medication is great because I feel less bloated and my skin is less oily. A dermatologist can prescribe it- but I just get mine from my doctor(pediatrician).

For Your skin :1. Drink as close to a liter of water a day as you can.
    2. Whenever possible do not apply any makeup to your cheeks or nose.
    3. When removing makeup from your cheeks and nose use clean fresh water not make up remover.
    4. If you have to apply makeup to your cheeks do the lightest layers possibles and do so only for the time it is needed and rinse it off with cool fresh water immediately when not needed.
    5. You have to let your skin breathe
    6. Never go to bed with makeup on your cheeks or nose
    7. If you are in any situation where you know you will be hot or sweating do the best you can to go with as little makeup as possible.
You should see pretty good results within 3-5 days.
It’s a vicious cycle with makeup the more often you wear it when you don’t need it the more you will need it. The point is to go without it on your cheeks or nose as often as you can . Under eye concealer and the lips chin and eyes are usually fine and not heavily affected.

I am not an expert, but my acne looked like yours (but worse) for YEARS and what I honestly believe saved my skin was 1) Good Genes from Sunday Riley and 2) way more hydration. My skin was so dry it was oily and breaking out, and calming stuff down actually helped a lot.
I can tell you’re taking good care of your skin because the overall clarity and texture is so beautiful! You’ll get through it, and as a random lady from the internet I can tell you that I don’t even notice your acne until you mention it. I promise. ❤️

I had very bad acne as a teenager. Went to multiple dermatologists and did every type of treatment, in the end tetracycline worked for me! It was the step before Accutane so im glad it worked and I didnt need to take accutane since its pretty intense. Have not had acne come back since. My advice is to not try too many over the counter products, go to a dermatologist and get started on something prescription, they most likely will not have you take accutane right away

  • @AlexMarie522
    @AlexMarie522 2 ปีที่แล้ว

A dermatologist will not immediately put you on accutane, especially if you want to try other routes. They will likely start you with a topical cream/gel that you will apply all over your face nightly or every other night. Differin used to be prescription only and is what many dermatologists used to start with, but it's now over the counter. So you could start with using that and then go to a dermatologist after 3-4 months if you're not seeing results after consistent use. They can prescribe a stronger dose of Differin or a different cream/gel. I've been to the dermatologist several times for my skin

You can visit your doctor and they can give you a cream, or you can use retenoid oils.
Acne comes from imbalances within the body so it could be hormonal, stress or food intolerances, or diet such as too much sugar, oil etc. You could try to eliminate certain food groups and see if your skin Clears up or get it tested at a doctor.
I struggle with acne too but these tips have helped me! You are beautiful either way ❤️

Give antibacterial soap a try. I was trying to have a influencer-worthy skincare routine but I think I was using too many products. I stripped it and just got a bar of the blue Dove Antibacterial Bar Soap. I wash with just that and take an ice cube and rub it all over my face morning and night after washing. It feels nice to close up my pores. I then use 100% aloe vera gel as the moisturizer. Maybe try that for awhile and see if it helps clear you up a bit. Sometimes less is more when it comes to resetting the skin.

The only thing that fixed my skin was signing up for a SkinandMe subscription. You get allocated an online dermatologist who will analyse your skin through photos and a quiz, and then they create a formula that gets sent in the post monthly.
I used to use around 5 products on my face every day/night, but now I just use cleanser, my prescribed SkinandMe formula and moisturiser. It has completely transformed my skin, and no accutane in sight!
My advice is to stick with it because you don't see results for the first month or two and I almost cancelled, so glad I didn't!
    P. S. Not sponsored by SkinandMe, I just think they're awesome.

I use a gel from my dermatologist and it's like Differin gel but stronger. I used Differin in the beginning before my dermatologist put me on the stronger one. You can get it at Walmart! I hope it helps you. (once you use it a few times it will dry out your skin a little bit but keep using it. I had so many people ask how my skin was glowing and what spa I went too so it works)

Hey Avia! I know your acne looks worse in your eyes but your skin itself is beautiful. It’s nothing you’re doing wrong. Hormonal acne is very very annoying and hard to get rid of because hormones are causing it. I would suggest going to a dermatologist cause they can give you products that aren’t over the counter. Many dermatologists don’t jump to acutane unless it’s absolutely necessary because it is very hard on the kidneys and other organs. Also, test out other makeup brands. I know you have the ones you love that you don’t really want to change but 9 times out of 10, the makeup I used made me breakout. One product that helped reduce break outs for me was Clinique’s acne solution foundation. It has salicylic acid in it which is great for treating acne. Another great tip is to wash your face after any activity that includes lots of sweating, dirt, or any sort of debris. For example, wash your face in the morning before the gym and then wash it again after. This will help keep it from sitting on your face all day until you do your nightly routine. Make sure you’re moisturizing with this method cause it can dry out your skin. Also, be careful with face masks. They say “brightening”, “clearing”, “lifting”, etc. but really they just have a bunch of nonsense that doesn’t do a whole lot for your skin. There are good masks out there but there are also a lot of not so good ones. At the end of the day you’re just going to have to test out a bunch of different products to see what works for you. I know it’s frustrating, I went through the same battle at your age but I promise once you find your combo of products, you usually can stick with those for a very long time.

Go to a derm Avia, they may not necessarily put you on accutane, and you can talk about your options! ❤️

Honestly I’ve been using the brand Good Molecules. And it’s cleared up my skin in an insane way. My skin is the clearest it’s ever been. It’s also very affordable. I like the acne clearing face wash, Niacinamide toner, and the BHA skin serum. I use only their products now!

I go to the dermatologist and there are a lot of medications/steps they can take before they put you on acutane! I personally didn’t want to go on it and my derm came up with a plan that cured my skin beautifully

    1. Try drunk elephant, really high quality and worth the money (you can try their travel pack if you want to try it out first)
    2. Drink more water
    3. Avoid touching your skin when you have breakouts. Maybe use pimple patch to avoid anything touching the pimples
    4. I use aloe vera at night after moisturizer
    5. Clear skin:))))))))
    Hope it helps

its the food you eat...if you eat fried foods or greasy foods you'll break out. Eating foods with water in them, and just anything that isn't fried or greasy. Maybe like once a week you can

I don't know if you have already tried prescription topical creams for your acne but you can ask a dermatologist to reccomend/prescribe you stronger topical facewashes/creams to help. They can also look at the different types of acne you have to find the best combination of topical products for you. If you just tell the dermatologist that you are not currently interested in acutane they should be happy to work with you to try other options.

Re acne: the best cure is less foods with additives which is hard in the US. Products can help but food is the main culprit. I ate differently for 4 weeks and got acne for the first time in my life. To fix it I when back to my usual no sodas more home made food, veg (the obvious). Used antiseptic once then treated my face normally (left it alone). It took 4 weeks to totally go. Research food and acne. Also track when it gets better & worse. Find the cause find the solution. Talk to your GP about possible triggers.

I didn’t start getting acne until I was about 20. I’m 26 now and here’s what made it stop- FACE MAKEUP!! I only wash my face with neutrogenia gentle care face wash and only at night to take off eye makeup in the shower. In the morning I only splash my face with warm water. I never put products on my face for experimentation. You never know what’s in them. Dermablading your skins (shaving off the fine hairs) will also cause serious acne. I would avoid that as well as products that are “trendy”

I remember I was a total zitface back in 7th grade like really bad acne and my mom took me to the dermatologist and I got put on Accutane ... it solved the problem eventually but I remember the worst side effect was my lips were so dry and chapped all the time.

I actually had way more acne, and i used to cry every night or every time i saw my face. My friend recommended to try Curology and I had heard of it, and I was a bit skeptical but at that point I was like, whatever... and let me tell you... in two or three months it got SO MUCH BETTER. And now I literally have NO ACNE. I only get one pimple before my period and that's it. Try it and let me know. (Also, the freezing roller for your face before and after sleep. Hope it helps!

I'm an esthetician in LA and I'm a certified acne specialist through Face Reality, and I would suggest finding someone on Face Reality's in your area! The products are great and do a great job clearing our clients. Mandelic acid is such a game changer, and is one of the main serums that is used in Face Reality's line.

Try to get in touch with Jill from It's The Donnelly's and ask her what her son Brennen is taking for his acne. He had it real bad and he went to the doctor where they prescribed something and it cleared his face right up. You can no longer tell he even had it. Watch some of their older videos, about a year ago, then watch some now. The difference is amazing!
