My grandad once got a scammer calling him telling him there was viruses on his computer. He strung them along, reacting to everything the scammer was saying as if he was following along, until at the very end when he said “no, I don’t think I do have viruses on my computer”

And my grandad just said

And the scammer hung up

Hey kitboga, I've said this before, but it bears repeating: if you get even a cheap wacom tablet, because it uses absolute positioning, the scammers will not be able to move the cursor for more than a single frame before it snaps back to where you want it to be. You win ALL cursor tug-of-war effortlessly. This is sure to cause them to flip their shit.
Any tablet work not just from wacom. Generalization. But thats a good idea to piss off those scummer.

There are probably 1 or 2 people in the scam centers who either know what they're doing or know a few tricks - everyone else just has step-by-step instructions that they do 20 times a day in the hopes that they'll trick somebody. It's why they hang up or get pissed off when stuff goes according to plan - they don't actually know what's going on much better than the victim does.

Why do they always, always have these childish meltdowns. It’s very weird.
It's part of their culture. Asians, generally, are very driven to be *the best* of the best, and it's where the Chinese stereotypes about proficiency in math and college graduation come in to play. The difference, of course, is that Chinese people are typically quite intelligent. They may walk all over you to get a step ahead, but they have the education to do it a proper way.
I've worked the kitchen with them. They spazz out over the smallest of things and once they snap, everything is a reason to rage.

@Pixies Ostrich Duster Reminds me of my days at Microsoft... Coming from mainland Europe I didn't have much experience with Indian people. It was a very sobering to see how all this looks like in IT companies, starting from tech support ending with some "projects" that were outsourced to India that were utterly useless and took asymptotically infinite time to finish. Years later and then the Boing planes started to fall from the sky I was not supprised a bit that the software responsible for those crashes was writen in India :(
As someone who provides actual IT support over the phone it surprises me how rude they are.

I think it’s intentional. I guess psychologically speaking, you’ll be more likely to try to defuse the situation and comply when being yelled at.
I've had a real IT/service person make me cry. Granted I'm a pussy and was newly adulting and in college, but still they were rude, unhelpful and blaming me for everything.
*not saying all IT people are bad, just that one person sucked. Every other person I've recieved help from was lovely :)

@@tims5994 I had IT pepole yelling at me for not quiet understanding what they were talking about myself. It ended upp with me finding out more by myself, if I had issues with something. I later needed help because I didn't find any ways to fix my problem online. guess what? Same dude, inn his glorius god complex, even he didn't find a fix for my problem, and said I had destroyed my own computer. I argued with him back and forth before just ending the call, and my younger brother found the solution for me. Today, I just ask him if I have issues, he have deeper understanding because he have higher education then I have on IT then I have 😅
The funny thing is, when this scammer says he isn't getting anything out of the $199 payment and is getting paid directly by the 'company', that's probably the only truthful thing he said lol. That money would definitely go to 'the boss' who lives in the expensive part of Delhi

After seeing so many of these videos, I’m still amazed that the scammers actually start getting angry and insulting the same people they’re trying to swindle. Is it just an intimidation tactic, seriously? How do they honestly believe that they’re portraying a convincing and sincere tech support representative. It’s hilarious and never seems to get old when they become enraged and start verbally assaulting the supposed victim. Goodness gracious!

Here's an idea: when he runs the 'tree' command, hold down backspace so he can't type any of his nonsense and keep holding it
until it's done. It'd be interesting seeing their reaction when they realize that nothing they typed is there. It'd make the scanning
process completely useless, unless they try again because it didn't work but you can just repeat the process with backspace.

Although the idea is a great one, If the input is changed, backspace will not work, because it will change the input. For example, if you hold backspace and start pressing random letters, It won't delete anything. You could probably press backspace rapidly and get a similar effect though.

I set up windows 7 on a separate HDD on my machine, along with tons of cracked programs to make it more believable, installed Deep Freeze and disabled command prompt, management console, and regedit, the guy was lost for around 2 hours trying nearly everything to "diagnose" or get the computer to say it had problems

They also have access to your address and if you REALLY piss them off they might find a way to hit back at you. I really appreciate this lil nuance too! Periodically it works if they ask with a pretty good joke, but I mean come on, 99% of us know how likes and following goes on here! If I like something, I will click the like button and most of the time I use it as a clear cut way to mark a video as watched since the time tracking is off sometimes.
