Another one of my favorites. I used to live for jumping on those armadillos. The music for the water levels is so relaxing. I loved the industrial level.
My first game I ever played and by far my favorite. I remember it like it was yesterday. I came back from school and I had got a whipping at school from the principle and I was givin a letter to bring home that I got a whippin, But I just threw it away, So I get home and get another ass whippin, Cause the school called them. And right after that My Grandpa had surprised Me with The Super Nintendo and Donkey Kong. It's weird cause it wasn't My birthday are nothing just a random gift on a random day. So it was a very shitty day with a very happy ending I guess you can say....
sounds like me I would never do my homework and stare at the snes and watch my brother and his friend play it so they sent me in to the dining room so I could do my homework I was so upset and wanted to play it I do miss those days back then but I got me a snes and sega genesis so im good now and still play them I don't like those new systems at all anymore they keep coming out with the same games that do the same from befor and I got tired of it snes and sega genesis forever ^_^
Grace By Faith I guess I would say you were meant for videos games dude cuz it sounded like you had a struggle of what you said and that videogame s must've made your day ^_^ that's good
+SplinteredX It was a great game, but for me it didn't aged as good as the other two DK Countries. DKC 1 just feels lacky in comparisson to the next two games: The bonuses meant something, there was actually a big difference between the Kongs and the normal/true ending were kind a cool thing that made you search for every corner to find that DK coin or a hidden bonus level.
I know I'm probably the only one who thinks this, but I actually find some older games more appealing to look at than most modern games, for example games like Yoshi's island, Donkey Kong Country, Megaman X, Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Thunder Force 4, Pop n' Twinbee, Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, Actraiser 2 etc. I know their graphics are "technically" inferior but I just find them so much nicer to look at then modern games that all try too hard to be realistic and gritty and brown.
P.K. tendo I know, Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Donkey Kong Country tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D world all look amazing. I find it funny that people bitch about the Wii U being less powerful and yet it's games look better.
Yea your right, older games really demanded your full attention and they really had a lot of variety but now its like I can't really get into the games they put out now because there so boring -_-
Slayermetallica69 Stop generalizing modern games as gritty and brown! For God sake, there are plenty of modern games bursting with great graphics and gameplay to boot.
I remember saving up my allowance for months, going into to Toys R Us and buying the SNES with Donkey Kong Country. Man, I was the happiest kid in the world when I walked out of the store.
Donkey Kong country game has been a on my contacts list with the by money dollars worth it was an awesome weekend for the children boy and girl scouts who sent me some pictures over here going on the jungle South Africa question first after game calling "Donkey Kong Country series" right away from its original title play against me.
first game i remember playing. played it with my mom, who was the queen of these games. she beat all the SNES DKC games before i could even get halfway through the first one.
my cousins and i would stay up all night playing this too lol, the best! and wed get my uncle to beat the levels we were stuck at cause we were like 8 years old and he was the king when it came to the barrels
I remember after school and EARLY Saturday mornings my brother and I used to play SNES! Actually, HE did most of the playing and occasionally I'd have the honor but then when I couldn't pass a level he would "help" me and then continue playing the entire game. Watching Ravenlord playing this takes me back to those times. Good times!!!
No wonder my childhood was so fun, because of games like these. This is definitely an all time classic that has certainly stood the test of time. All-round excellent gameplay, graphics & soundtrack. What more can one ask for? : )
I love this game! My brothers got donkey kong country snes for their fourth and fifth birthdays in 1994. They showed me how to play, shared the Nintendo controller with me, and laughed when I always died. Some of my favorite childhood memories!
THANK YOU YOU THE ONLY PERSON WHO NOTICED IT THIS WHY I WENT BACK PLAYING NES,SNES,SEGA GENESIS THEY STILL THE BEST SYSTEMS THAT THEY HAD AND THEY FUCKED UP BY MOVING AWAY FROM THEM.
Ob Pavuk The reason why is, too many top-level executives being hired into video game companies that know NOTHING about video games, but got the job due to their past leadership of other non-game companies that sell goods. Once hired, they'll look to market data and see what sells the most, then make those games. It doesn't matter what kind of game, as long as it sells well. That's why very, very few established companies take risks with a new product anymore, and why we see endless amounts of sequels to games like Assassin's Creed, and dozens of Candy Crush clones. At least we can rely on Indie devs for original content, and more and more proven game developers (like Keiji Inafune and Koji Igarashi) are going indie these days in response to executives who don't give a damn whatsoever about the gaming community other then selling the same ol' shit to them for as long as possible.
I love the music to this game, some levels especially the water-based ones where very haunting in the sound. some of the levels gave you feelings of isolation and hopelessness but you always reached the end and triumphed
I completely agree! The music alone just brings back all sorts of memories and feelings ! nowadays the music is all frantic and hectic.....prefer the older games,
How relaxing is the music for the underwater scene! you just wouldnt get that nowadays everything is hectic busy music. thanks for this upload. i know the music by heart!
Look at this game folks, i mean really look at it. I remember as a kid playing this on Christmas morning 1994 and being blown away by everything about it. Gameplay, graphics, music, characters, simple story, it had the lot. Fast forward 18 years and it's still fucking legendary. It still confuses the mind as to how the SNES pumped out this serious power. I mean look at the level backdrops, they may seem simple now but back then was totally unique and stunning. RARE owned back then.
I grew up when the n64 was the console everyone was on, however my uncle passed onto me a snes once with all the donkey kong country games, mega man games, mario rpg, etc.. I could not be happier with these games and donkey kong country is definitely a favorite
oh my gosh what a classic! This brings back so many memories being 6 fighting over my brother taking turns to play this game even though it was his and i wanted to play cause it made me feel important lol!
I miss you dk .. When will i ever play u again? Especially on ipad nowadays...you are better than mario bros.. The most unforgettable game ive ever played is dk next is diablo....
Donkey kong country returns for wii ans DK country tropical freeze on wii u are so addicting. They still have that DK feel to them. You should look into them.
When I was a kid I had the Game & Watch Donkey Kong II. It is funny to see the giant leap from the lcd with static images to this for the next generation of kids.
This game feels and looks so solid. Every hit has an "oomph" to it, and the sound-effects are mesmerizing, not to mention the legendary soundtrack composed by David Wise himself!
As young child I remembered my parents drove me and my brother to his friend's house and after we where done eating a little lunch I watch both my brother and his friend playing donkey kong country for the super nes.My favorite level is tree top town because of the level graphic design and the temple levels I also like the realistic tree shrubs in the background of the temple level even now I love the level design.Years later when I was in elementary school my brother download this game on my emulation system with three donkey kong country trilogy games and I so excited to play the first donkey kong country game on the super nes for the first time.I enjoy the first donkey kong country alot as child was able to beat the last boss I remembered my brothers had a little bit of hard time beating the final boss especially when the fake staff roll ending [with the main enemies credited] tricks you that is not over yet until the last bout against the final boss or otherwise lose a life to never see the real ending but on the other hand this game wasn't that hard but easy to beat but other sequels become harder then this game but anyway brings back good old memories from my childhood Thank you for uploading this video yeah.
I don't even really game anymore, but I'm considering getting the SNES again just to relive this game. There's something special about it that can't be fully verbalized. It's not just nostalgia because I played many games of that era, but this and Mario were true classics and have never been forgotten.
I remember playing this when it came out and being amazed at how much better it looked than all of the other games I had previously played. It was such a beautiful game to look at for it's time. I really miss it (I don't have an SNES anymore), and there's been many times I've thought about trying to buy an old system just so I could play this and the Mario games again (been a Playstation gamer since 96).
Ebay my friend. I've been a game collector for a while so its natural for me to collect nintendo sony microsoft atarii games but my favorite systems have to be the Gamecube SNES NES N64 and GBA. i love sony too but they don't get me Nostalgia drunk like Nintendo.
I remember my mom buying me and my brother the Super NES Donkey Kong Country set for Christmas '94...and being sick as a dog the next day, watching my brother play it. Still a great game.
Everything about this game is amazing the soundtrack is superb the gameplay graphics for a 20 year old game is top notch miss games like this.i remember when my cousin first got it fantastic dont make games like they used to.
Oh my god the nostalgia hit me so hard I almost cried! I've got so many good childhood memories with this game. The music is just so pretty and some of it super sad. Now I'm crying :D Oh I had an amazing childhood :')
Thank you very much for sharing this excellent extra long version of gameplay and soundtrack for my most favorite SNES game of all time, one of the best sellers for SNES and a game that made people buy the SNES if they did not own one!!!
Love this game man years go by quick !!! I'm 27 now and can't wait to buy back my Super Nintendo and revisit my childhood awesome times thank you for this video
Some of you best memories are of this game. I was 4, almost 5 when the game out. I was scared to play so my older brother bought the players guide for me so I could read it to him as he played. We kept that up through the N64.
this game came out in 1994 and here's the best thought no one was going to share. level 2 of monkey mines. the mine carts. no one and i mean no one was ever going to find out about the barrel at the bottom of the side scrolling screen at start of the level. we thank you for your loving attitude to play the entire game in 1 to 2 hours. try and beat it in 50 minutes minimum.
I always loved playing the stage that had the snow storm that started as light clouds, then turning darker, then light snow, then heavy blinding snow towards the end of the level. Then if you wanted to reverse the snow storm just play it backwards. Feels like 1995 all over again!!!!
The graphics in this game are still amazing/insane, even now! The music rocks... what more can I say that hasn't been said? This game is a treasure! ^^
This game brings back memories. I always get a laugh out of what Diddy Kong does when you lose a minigame while controlling him. For those who DON'T know what that is, he throws his hat on the ground and starts stomping on it. Said act can also be seen if you enter the Banana Hoard room controlling Diddy before taking out King K. Rool.
This game was the best game for Super Nintendo at the time, best in graphics and platforming [well maybe tied with mario :) ] Ahh the nostalgia from the good old days.
My parents have a video of my older cousin playing this at my house when I was a baby. Everyone was over for my baptism, and my brother was sick with chicken pox... It really makes me feel old now.
Another one of my favorites. I used to live for jumping on those armadillos. The music for the water levels is so relaxing. I loved the industrial level.
jaja coom
My first game I ever played and by far my favorite. I remember it like it was yesterday. This game is so damn good.
But in some places it can be very unforgiving.
Grace By Faith I guess I would say you were meant for videos games dude cuz it sounded like you had a struggle of what you said and that videogame s must've made your day ^_^ that's good
For 1994 you gotta admit the graphics are pretty damn good
+SplinteredX Yes it was one of the best for it's time
+SplinteredX you are right... this bring back so much beautiful memories as a child
+pablo venegas Real good times playing this game back in the day. They should bring it back for the Xbox 360 console. I would play it all night.
+Conrad Knoblock They can't because Donkey Kong is of Nintendo. Rare may have made the game, but they are not its characters.

Slayermetallica69 Stop generalizing modern games as gritty and brown! For God sake, there are plenty of modern games bursting with great graphics and gameplay to boot.
Retro gaming/games are 100% better in every way. I completely agree with your opinion.
Wheels8504 There are ways that modern games are better than retro games, you know.
I remember saving up my allowance for months, going into to Toys R Us and buying the SNES with Donkey Kong Country. Man, I was the happiest kid in the world when I walked out of the store.
Jon Rojas Nowadays: MUM GIMME MUNEY TO BUY CALL OF DUTY NEW GAME BST GAM EVR IF NO MUNEY I SUE U
@@salomonthefish that's garbage tbh
Gotta admit, the graphics are pretty good for 16 bit.
Yeah dude it was the first fully rendered game
Layne Longbrake it wasn’t pixels tho.
Donkey Kong country game has been a on my contacts list with the by money dollars worth it was an awesome weekend for the children boy and girl scouts who sent me some pictures over here going on the jungle South Africa question first after game calling "Donkey Kong Country series" right away from its original title play against me.

Plot
Donkey Kong Country is a reboot of the Donkey Kong franchise, set long after the events of Donkey Kong (1981) and Donkey Kong Jr. (1982). The original Donkey Kong grows old, moves to Donkey Kong Island 🏝, and takes on the moniker Cranky Kong, passing the "Donkey Kong" mantle down to his grandson. One night, the Kremlings, led by King K. Rool, invade Donkey Kong Island and steal the Kongs' hoard of bananas 🍌. Donkey, alongside his nephew Diddy, sets out on a journey to reclaim the banana hoard and defeat the Kremlings.
The two Kongs travel throughout Donkey Kong Island, battling the Kremlings and their henchmen, before reaching K. Rool's pirate ship, the Gang-Plank Galleon. The two take on K. Rool and seemingly defeat him, initiating a mock credits roll claiming that the Kremlings developed the game, but K. Rool gets back up to continue the fight. However, the Kongs persevere, defeat K. Rool, and reclaim the banana hoard.

Like the box saids it’s a Incredible 3D adventure
Oh the memories being 9. staying up all night with my cousins passing levels for this game
first game i remember playing. played it with my mom, who was the queen of these games. she beat all the SNES DKC games before i could even get halfway through the first one.
my cousins and i would stay up all night playing this too lol, the best! and wed get my uncle to beat the levels we were stuck at cause we were like 8 years old and he was the king when it came to the barrels
Those were the days my friends
I remember going to my cousin's house and playing this game, along with mortal kombat 3
Lol, I used to do the same thing dude, every kid in the 90's played this game! :)
Great times my friend. The new donkey kong for Wii and wii u isn't for me though I must admit.
Good times!!!

makes me sad to know kids nowdays grow up with trash like CoD and such
Ob Pavuk I moved away from next gen systems and went back and im enjoying my sega genesis
Ob Pavuk yes because CoD is the only game made in this generation, not like there are quality titles on every platform, nope, just CoD
0nly1truth
One of if not THE best game on the SNES I've played!
+Doom Video Vault I am doing a playthrough on it right now if you want please check it out
I like how Rare made the Kong letters you collect in the fashion of their logo
I need to say it! The boss music from King.K Rool is awesome.
I literally sitting here with my controller playing along. So much nostalgia.

Ob Pavuk Yeah, it's a darn shame you can't play anything else besides CoD
Ob Pavuk CoD isnt the only other game out there... there are plenty of better games then cod

I miss my old childhood. Games and shows. I'm never too old to forget what I grew up with.
I love the music to this game, some levels especially the water-based ones where very haunting in the sound. some of the levels gave you feelings of isolation and hopelessness but you always reached the end and triumphed
Nostalgic memories! THANKS!

I grew up when the n64 was the console everyone was on, however my uncle passed onto me a snes once with all the donkey kong country games, mega man games, mario rpg, etc.. I could not be happier with these games and donkey kong country is definitely a favorite

This game is truly a hallmark in Nintendo gaming history--and I don't even like it that much.
I passed the game 49%. All levels have been completed.

What a great game!
It is a masterpiece that the years do not pass through, it does not age, it is timeless

Literally makes me want to cry :'). I remember playing with my brother at my grandmother's like 7 years ago.
It is also to relive all of these great moves that took awhile to figure out, though the strategy guide helped when you got stuck.
I was 3 when I played this game ! aww the childhood...bring it back!!
How many homework has been neglected because of this awesome game! (^_^)
ALOT I hated doing my homework and wanted to play my snes
daminmancejin Same with me.
What beautiful memories this game of my childhood brings me, thank you
Everything about this game is amazing the soundtrack is superb the gameplay graphics for a 20 year old game is top notch miss games like this.i remember when my cousin first got it fantastic dont make games like they used to.
I remember playing this game on Christmas Day! Now that King K. Rool is in smash, what could make me more happy? I should say.
Oh my god the nostalgia hit me so hard I almost cried! I've got so many good childhood memories with this game. The music is just so pretty and some of it super sad. Now I'm crying :D Oh I had an amazing childhood :')
I used to love playing this game.
Same here. Great memories from that Christmas 1994. I still have that game and my SNES in a box somewhere. Anybody up for a retro weekend ? :)
The level of nostalgia is literally off the charts right now!
*Thank You for Viewing*

This really brings back memories as one of my first game to play on the SNES.
Rare at their very, very best.
Also has one of the finest game soundtracks ever - especially Aquatic Ambience (9 minutes).
Great longplay!
love all donkey Kong games one of the best games ever created on super nintendo
There is hardly video game music as beautiful and calming as the Donkey Kong Country games.
Ohh how many memories! I loved this gamee
1:16 my biggest fear as a child in one little song tune 😂😂😂
Thank you very much for sharing this excellent extra long version of gameplay and soundtrack for my most favorite SNES game of all time, one of the best sellers for SNES and a game that made people buy the SNES if they did not own one!!!
I like that they did a little bit of donkey kong arcade at the opening.
Awww the nostilga... i played this 24/7 back in the day, sitting watching now in bed brings bk old memories

This game takes me back to my childhood. Donkey Kong Country Returns may have been cool, but it does not beat this EPIC classic!
It’s crazy how quick these games can be beaten in. I couldn’t get past the 2nd level in this game. 🤔
this game had such chill music! especially when they go underwater.
I’m so happy this is part of my childhood. Such an amazing game 🥰
This is one of the first videogames I ever played, first one being Super Mario World
this game came out in 1994 and here's the best thought no one was going to share. level 2 of monkey mines. the mine carts. no one and i mean no one was ever going to find out about the barrel at the bottom of the side scrolling screen at start of the level. we thank you for your loving attitude to play the entire game in 1 to 2 hours. try and beat it in 50 minutes minimum.
I still play this game even today, with my Super Nintendo that My dad got like in '96. Freaking thing is old as me and still works!
I still got my snes im ever giving that system up ever again next gen can't beat these old games
holy nostalgia, havent played this game in years and i can still humm the theme music
Back when video games had the balls to be different. Shame I wasn't born in this era :/
Nostalgia hits hard with this game. Played this when I was 5
man how much fun was this game! this brings me back
I always loved playing the stage that had the snow storm that started as light clouds, then turning darker, then light snow, then heavy blinding snow towards the end of the level. Then if you wanted to reverse the snow storm just play it backwards. Feels like 1995 all over again!!!!
Man I remember beating this game when I was like 8. Cant wait to buy a new 3ds so I can play this again
Old Cheetohs I have it also you can pick form two different modes
Great memory of my childhood I love this game and I used play all day
this game is amazing it has a large place in my childhood played it alot
This game is what sold SNES systems at Christmas that year!! Awesome game!
I remember playing DKC on the SNES as kid, sooo much nostalgia!!
I really enjoyed watching your video please continue to make more
What a good memories , wonderful game and it seems never finished
The graphics in this game are still amazing/insane, even now! The music rocks... what more can I say that hasn't been said? This game is a treasure! ^^
This game brings back memories. I always get a laugh out of what Diddy Kong does when you lose a minigame while controlling him. For those who DON'T know what that is, he throws his hat on the ground and starts stomping on it. Said act can also be seen if you enter the Banana Hoard room controlling Diddy before taking out King K. Rool.
This game bring back so many memories
In Donkey Kong Country for SNES, find all of the bonus rooms for each level and ignore the KONG letters.
Lucky SevenDX good for you. But too bad you don’t get jack shit for doing that >:(
DKC in the house! I loved, loved, loved this game when I was younger, between Street Fighter II Turbo.
I feel SO old now..
I love that game lol
what will kids nowdays say 20years later...man I dont remember what I played but it fucked me up
This game was the best game for Super Nintendo at the time, best in graphics and platforming [well maybe tied with mario :) ] Ahh the nostalgia from the good old days.
MEMORIES
My parents have a video of my older cousin playing this at my house when I was a baby. Everyone was over for my baptism, and my brother was sick with chicken pox... It really makes me feel old now.
