What a special episode! You are so right, Katie, it should all be about the journey, not the destination. That being said, we're really looking forward to August when Uepi will be our destination.
Seghe has been closed for several weeks for the final stages of chip sealing and our alternative during that period for domestic flights was Ramata (2 hours by boat) but 3 days before Seghe closed it was decided that Ramata was unsuitable and so our closest domestic airstrip was Munda (3.5hrs + open ocean) which had been hugely difficult for us with many cancellations 😒
@@TheIslandLifeofUs Ramata was the replacement strip already during the 2008 Seghe issues if I'm not mistaken, but Munda, that must have been tough. Hope all will be well now with Seghe for many years!
Hi guys, really nice videos you are uploading here on youtube, thank you!. I would like to see more of the island where you live, how do you shop, where? Is there any local market around? Do you meet local people? How they live? What animals do you have there on this island? I didn't see you growing chickens, which is strange because you are relaying mostly on fish?! Simple things like this I will love to see if possible of course :-)
Love reading comments like this as it gives us such good prompts for what you all want to see in thev videos...It is easy for us to forget the things we assume people already know. Actually, the episode I am working on right now has more about how we feed the family... some elements of where our food comes from.. I think you'll enjoy it so stay tuned for the next video :)
A belated Happy Birthday to you. What a joy to share that day via TH-cam. The fruit bowl is gorgeous and your perspective of “being in this life at this moment” is such a good strategy for peace and calm. Thanks for sharing that - will try to do more of the same in my own life. 😍
Seems a simple task to live in the moment but it really does take conscious effort to keep that healthy perspective... to me life is a balancing act of changing emotions is it not?! Funny how you can feel so contented with life and still yearn to be better at taking it all in! Thanks as always for watching and especially for the bday love for this old 37 yr old ha ha
