I think that the main reason is the political conflict between Taiwan and China mainland. As you might know that she had been a symbol of the conflict between both countries. She had been a symbol of the national dispute of two parties of Taiwan. Some people in your country(mainly politicians) and China mainland think that she might become the symbol of Taiwan's independence from China.
China is one of the biggest markets in the world for the global luxury brands. I think that these brands are afraid of the crisis because of political problems.
Some Taiwanese think that Tzuyu could not become the ambassador due to the neglect of JYPE. But they should acknowledge that it's due to the political problem. There are many persons in your country, Taiwan, who don't want the independence of your country. These persons, including your politicians, as well as communists in China, seem to be ready to make Tzuyu the symbol and victims of the conflict as January 2016.
