Nothing quite like a barn owl. Lovely captures
Thanks for watching. Has to be one of my favourite birds to watch!! 😀
Nice video, beautiful content..
Thank you so much 😀
Great images of the barn owl both inflight and perched really impressed so i have subbed your channel 👍 i look forward to seeing what you manage to film regards Dave
Thanks for the sub! And thanks for the comment, both very much appreciated
3000 dollars is not cheap. But for this hobby, the rf 200-800 mm and Canon R7 is a killer combo. Thank you for so effectively demonstrating that. Well done.
Thanks for watching John. I'm using the Ef 100-400 mk2. I haven't got the funds to upgrade to an RF lens yet, but not sure that I will as I love the quality and the combination as it is 😀
Nice video. Thanks for sharing & big like
Thank you for watching! 😁
Some wonderful footage, you were in luck to such an extended amount of time filming the magical Barn Owl, thanks for a great video 👍
I was very privileged. Thank you for watching 😁
Fantastic video. Barn owls are so majestic. I loved 11:36 when he is looking right at you! ☺️
Thank you 😃I didn't realise it was so close, it heard me shuffling about 🤣
Enjoyed this,l nearly went for the R7, but decided to go to the Olympus set up instead, not that it matters liked your video so l subscribed!
Thanks for watching! I love the R7, I was a bit dubious before I got it and there are a few things that niggle me about it but I've always had Canon so decided to stick with it
Some wonderful video and stills. Do you have your R7 on 30fps burst ! ? I tend to get better results with the electronic 1st curtain at 15fps.
Yeah I've been using 30 fps. Haven't had a situation where rolling shutter's been an issue yet. But I can see it being a problem with faster (and closer) subjects. I've seen some really bad examples in some people's shots and worry that I'll ruin that once in a life time, diving kingfisher shot or something! 😬. Have you seen many issues?
Great shots. Could you share your setting on the R7 and how you machined to track the owl in video and also for light shots. I find the R7 jumps in and out of focus in video mode for moving targets like birds. Thanks
Thanks. I'm quite new to the video side of it. Never really tried it when I had dslrs, so everything's in automatic mode in terms of shutter speed, aperture and iso. In the focus settings I have subject tracking on, animal detect and eye tracking enabled. I found it did a fairly good job of keeping the owl in focus but it did lose it a few times
Such creative videos you’ve on this channel. I just subscribed!
Thank you very much. Really appreciate it!
