I used to decorate my main home as well as our vacation home. We had 7 children and so far our 24th grandchild due in a couple of weeks. It was a blast. Two years ago we sold our main home and moved into the lake house. Even though it is only one hour away I don’t have the kids popping in all the time. I do miss that. I have been going through all my decor to reduce the amount. It helps that I have a decor shed. I enjoy watching your videos so much because it reminds me of me when I had everyone around. Enjoy this time. It goes by fast.

My husband's father passed away almost 2 years ago and we have been cleaning and organizing the garage. He had so much woodworking tools and benches loaded with stuff and feels great to have it clean and organized. Thanks again for your helpful videos❤

I was thinking on your last video.. when you go from your bedroom into the bathroom, there is an indent on both sides. On the one you have the table with the books and things on it. Have you considering putting doors in there with shelves. It would be so much storage for you! You could do all the sheets/blankets and then some maybe.

I am excited to just go through things and see what I want to do this year. I haven't the slighted idea yet!
I love decorating for all holidays and I love smart scan labels to keep me organized. They have them on Amazon and you get a package of QR Codes and you download the app. I apply one QR code to each box and on the app you take a pic of every item in that box. So all my stuff in storage is on my phone and if I need a certain item I search on my app and it tells me what box it’s in and you can even put a pic in if where the box is. So I love it. The first year is free and after that it’s $13 a year. Love it. No more buying stuff I already have and as I’m in a store I can check what I do have from my phone. Just an idea. First time is time consuming taking pics but when you put away you know what box it all fit in and where it goes. Hope that helps.

@@LaurenNicholsen It was a game changer for me. I even have a QR code on my deep freezer so I remember what’s in there lol. It’s easy to delete stuff and you can move things from the app to another box. It also helps now when I ask my husband for a box he isn’t pulling them all out. Just the specific ones. I still have label of what season/holiday on the outside with the QR code. Saves time. Hope you have an amazing day and I love watching all your amazing videos. ❤️

Our homes are very similar and I’ve been having a very difficult eight years trying to figure out my style when the previous owner just did a major renovation before her divorce…my home was a divorce sale (I was unaware of it at the time). She loved this home so much that she kept on “visiting” for the first four years of living here. So…, I’m very grateful to you for helping me see what can be done to my home. And to answer your question about the garage, mine looks like a cross between a rummage sale and junk yard 😂…Keep up the beautiful work. Thank You!
I don’t have much storage in my house either, here in Orlando. I have a 3-car detached garage and you’d think that would be great for storage. The house was one year old and the previous owners installed overhead shelving in the entire garage. I thought it was a dream. So, moving from PA with a basement to Florida with no basement, I stacked all of my decorations on the shelving. Big mistake. Huge mistake. Florida summers are oppressive, so anything soft plastic or rubber, melted. Also, we have palmetto bugs, commonly known as roaches. They got into my tubs, unknowingly to me and I brought them into the house. Yeah, I still have nightmares. So, I have two storage closets in the house, one for Halloween and one for Christmas. I really have to watch what I purchase each year due to storage issues. I will say though, I have the cleanest and most empty garage in the neighborhood. 😬 Love your channel.

I live in Utah. Parking our vehicles in the garage is a must. My husband has built shelves all along the walls to the ceiling and they are all filled with camping equipment, garden supplies, totes of kids treasures and of course, seasonal decor. I’m so happy to have all that storage.

I have never seen someone decorate on this level which makes your channel so fun. I remember the first garage clean out video
Our garage is pretty organized. We have some wire shelving on the wall near one side of overhead door where we store our large coolers on the top shelves. Then the lower shelves are for things like small garden tools and fertilizer and any type of chemicals we don't want in the house ( bug spray, etc). We have lots of hooks on the walls to store things like lawn chairs. My husband has a very large standup tool box on casters that all the tools go in. Then we have a long 15-16 ft workbench that has an old laminate type counter on it and under that we have a section that stores our shopvac and air compressor. Then the other section has a shelf built for some larger tools that can't go into the tool box. We also have an section with a 36" sink base with a utility sink in it. We keep our large construction sized trash bags, bbq grill tools and other miscellaneous items. The other side of the garage has some more large hooks for ladders and such. We have made it an effort to try to keep things off of the floor for easy cleaning and so we have room to get our vehicles inside. Thankfully we have a small basement that we can store all of our seasonal decor and other miscellaneous items that don't have a spot in our garage. We also have a seperate shed for lawnmowers. When you have little kids and all of their extra items like bikes and things, it definitely makes it hard to keep up with the organized chaos. Thanks for sharing! I love all of your videos!!! I try to decorate for every season, and try to not break the bank when doing it. Pastels, yeah not doing the pastels its not fall!! I need to get into our garage and clean and organize all of my things. to see exactly what I have and what needs to be replaced. I basically try to buy only what I need and what needs replacing after years of use. I do change things around each year and try to put things in different places. My biggest struggle believe it or not is the fireplace, I always struggle with it for fall and for Easter. Christmas is easy. Love the videos and thank you for the inspiration!!

Air tight bags work great for sheets and blankets, space saving.
I spend most my summer reorganizing my decor, a little at a time! I have a 4 horse enclosed trailer with living quarters, that we dont use [have others] for hauling horses, that are bigger. But I keep most of my seasonal things in my upstairs loft, you know the small stuff [breakable] etc, in those rubber made bins...But all our big pieces stay in trailer. Because of our very long winters, I cycle stuff in and out. And around Sept...depending on early snows...I bring xmas trees in so I dont get caught, slipping and sliding ice with big items...LOL Anyway, awesome video of real life...STUFF, that most of us have! Cant wait for fall!

Have you heard of Totescan? Totally changed my seasonal decor organization game! It's basically scannable labels for your bins that list exactly what's in each one on your phone. Plus you can search for specific items, and it'll tell you which bin they're in. Total game changer for those of us with LOTS of seasonal decor!
I keep all my large florals in one area on shelves under the stairs. I keep all the smaller decor items in a double wide closet with shelves ( 1 for each season ) I keep pillows and some Christmas things that are more fragile in another big closet we put shelves in instead of hanging room. Then we bought really tall metal storage shelving units and a ton of clear bins so I can see what I have. I box according to holiday/season and write on note cards what is IN each one for a full detail. We had completely torn out everything in our utility room for that project. I took a back wall and hung all he wreaths on there so they aren't all stacked up smooshing each other and I plan to tear out some old cabinets and hang all of my wall art on that wall. I want everything up off the floor!

Just today, I was counting the days until September 21st and Hallowe’en. Summer and Winter are my least favourite seasons, sadly, but I’m always hanging out for my most favourite which is Autumn. Your video came at the perfect time ❤

Such a side note here Lauren, but I’ve never seen your garage before, in detail. Just a thought btw. If you were to divide the gym area in half or less than, with a stud wall, you could relocate the washer dryer under those wall cabinets and have a laundry zone in that corner, including the wire linen shelving along the new stud wall.
In front of the window could still remain your gym space.
Or additionally, another wall in front of the window to enclose it like a box frame window-could be decorated seasonally like a Christmas display window, etc and that way from the front yard everyone would see some of your holiday decorating too! Imagine your Lemax Christmas village set up on snow mountains and a seeet village backdrop and could be changed out throughout the year. Infect the wall itself could just be a blank built with a castor wheel base so it can be wheeled against a wall, out the way and open otherwise. It could be a mobile privacy wall, a back ground and even have room to use as hanging on the reverse. Or build it entirely as a cubby cube wall, with wheels so it can store tubs of decor year round too. So the back is storage, the front for display.

Never! I love decorating, it is so fun and such a creative outlet for me. So grateful to share it with friends here who are getting excited for the coming season.
I decorate for seasons and holidays. I have 30 bins on shelves in my garage that my husband built. I cannot get more, they must fit in the bins. I have all my soft items in laundry bags in my attic. Each season has two laundry bags. I have limits because I want my stuff at my home. If I get something new, something must go.
These are some tiips that help me: (1) If I really love how someturn turns out a take photo on my phone so I can remember what i did to get to look that great. (2) I Whenever possible, I pack items in boxs that I can carry and move. It is too frustrating for me not to be able to deal with a super large and heavy box. (3) Placements and napkins that are multi-seasonal I store in boxes by color. I use some red items for Valentne's Day, patriotic theme and Christmas (4) I never stor anything that I decide I don't want to use again. When I undecorate, Ii put those items in a donate pile.

Hey Lauren I hope you guys are well it's so good to see another video I love them they truly keep me going throughout my day. I don't have any decor I have four kids and they would love for me to decorate I always inspired to do so but I get so overwhelmed with trying to decide on decorations and where to buy them from. Any tips on how you choose your decorations and how you style them you always do a great job
Hi! When I was a new mom, I didn't decorate as much. We didn't really have the money and I had not identified my real "style," I was just kind of surviving. When I started decorating, I would put the kids art in the windows, and on the refrigerator. Then I found a garland that was cute and a few small things I would add to corners of the kitchen and the fire place. I would always add cute things to the yard for the kids in the neighborhood. Over the years it because more elaborate, I loved sharing it with friends and family. Some things my kids loved; seasonal plates with pumpkins, Santas and things like that, small magical traditions like Santa bells, Christmas music and decorating the tree. I would just start small and make it magical for the kids. They also loved Christmas books, we always had stacks of fall, halloween and Christmas books to read to them at night. I think the level I decorate now would have overwhelmed the kids when they were little. Now they love it, they say it feels like being in the North Pole. In some small way, I think I do it for the little girl in me that never had magical holidays.
OMG our garage is a nightmare! We have a wonderfully large two-story garage so it's in two levels of disaster LOL We keep our boat, which we haven't used in a couple of years, in the lower level of the garage, so before we can do anything organizational we have to sell the boat. Upstairs is where we keep all the holiday bins and general household storage. I need to do like you just did and just clean out holiday bins and toss what needs to go. My older daughter lives at home with us, so I'm letting her decorate the upstairs however she wants, and she loved all the pink and orange Halloween stuff at Michaels, so that's going upstairs LOL

Summers my fave season. So i like to enjoy every second of it before i fall decorate in late september. I give u credit for having so many things and organizing. While im here tryin to keep as little less as much as i can to keep of whats in my house. Cus i hate having so much and then i gotta keep up on it and maintain it all. I like my house empty and with less few things. My husband wants to buy a toaster oven and i wont allow it just cus i dont want another thing to clutter and maintain in my kitchen😂 and all these knick knacks souvenirs from our travels that i hate strewn all over my house i wont allow either. I said magnets on fridge is ok but too much knick knacks and decor is sometimes sufficating the house

We have the metal garage lockers/work bench and overhead cabinets. Our garage didn't used to be that bad but my husband has let it go so many times. I don't have the energy to do it for him again, and it's very cluttered, and a hot mess. I'm trying to not let it bother me but it totally does! I just focus on my areas and common areas.

Girl, you have got me in the mood. The Halloween/Fall mood. Honestly, I'm always ready for Halloween. All year long. It's spooky and fun and I have gone crazy over it since I was a child. All of our Halloween is one attic (fall too) and Christmas is in another attic. It's semi organized in bins and I want to get it down soon to purge. Fifty one years of collecting has netted us a bunch of stuff. Our garage is an organized disaster that needs an overhaul. My husband insists two of our three cars are parked in there so that takes all the fun space away. Wish I had a storage unit but get nixed on that, lol. Maybe someday I'll get to build the storage unit on our property that will house everything and no more crawling in the attic in Texas weather. I follow crafty girl and what she started to do recently just started doing is taking pictures of her decor space by space, piece by piece and making a photo album for each holiday/season.

Love your vlogs! I wish we could use our garage for storage/work out room but our cars are just too expensive to leave out. We bought a really nice storage shed from Home Depot and painted it the same color as our house so at least I have storage…no work out room though. Peloton in the bedroom.
Do your blankets and sheets get bugs and dirt in them being in the garage? You’re putting your sheets and comforters away clean so Do you have to rewash your linens before using them since they are outside?

Can you share your Poshmark details in case people want to follow you? Also instead of filling up the dump just donate everything. I kinda mimicked the bed sheet bands except I went to Walmart and bought narrow elastic head bands in black. I just mainly use them to hold everything together like the flat, fitted and pillowcases. I also roll my blankets and comforters to get the most efficient space out of my linen closet. You could get different colors of headbands for the different sizes of bed linens and blankets. I might start decorating for Spring, but for now it's just fall and Christmas.
Don’t even want to think about fall. Summers are to short, as it is.

Hi Lauren I agree as to what in the heck Michael's is doing. Not me! My daughter is a pink girl(kitchen, bedroom), but even her house will be like mine....traditional. I saw some pink Halloween at Home Goods yesterday, so I'm wondering what they have yet to come. I also saw Johanna Parker Halloween dolls. What a surprise! As a former teacher, I decorate for ALL seasons! lol. One thing I've begun to do is to get my tubs out a few months before the holiday, and go through them, tossing things out if needed. That way when stores start loading up, I know what I have, and I don't buy what I don't need. Enjoyed this video, as always. Take care. See you soon. x

Michaels and the pastels 🤦🏻♀️ Any who, we keep a fairly organized garage. We are currently in demo/move in stage, so it is a disaster!!!! This gives me motivation though, and we are having a bit of a cold front here in OK, so I might tackle it this weekend!
