Hector Bravo joined VladTV for an open discussion about his past as an Army war veteran and former lieutenant with the California Department of Corrections, where he served for over 15 years. The former correctional officer explained the circumstances that created the prison boom in the 1990s, leading to his father becoming a C.O. when he was a child. After graduating high school, Bravo immediately enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Iraq War. After returning from deployment, Bravo struggled with PTSD before following in his father's footsteps to become a prison guard. Throughout the interview, Bravo detailed his experiences working at a maximum state prison. He described the prison lifestyle, the tactics of prison guards, and the corruption he witnessed from the top down.

I'm 5 years into my Correctional Officer career, and I will say this: everything he's saying is damn true, I work with the rawest of the human populace, and as long as you're straight up and down with them, they'll be straight up and down with you.
I haven't had alot of full on issues with the inmates I work with and have worked with. Somehow, I work the pod by myself ALOT. I start to think I've pissed somebody off at the top.
However, I haven't had any major issues with the inmates I've supervised unless it was for a previous issue that I didn't know about upon entering the pod.
I've run into more than a few of the inmates I supervised while they were incarcerated, and it's still the same respect, one to another. He's not lying about that at all.

One thing I remember about the Alabama DOC was that cigarretes ARE LEGAL and we smoked the hell out of them. I quit for a few months upon my release lol. Shit was raw though, usually hand rolled filterless Buglars.

One of Vlads last questions to LT “Do you hope that prison is more by the book and c/o’s are not involved in this type of thing”, proves how confused and clueless he was about this entire interview.
As if inmates do their time “by the book”. Inmates are able to get college courses for free, complete sex changes, the best and most expensive medications, they are put to the front of the line for any kind of transplants (while you and your family member waits years to get theirs), ALL PAID FOR BY TAX PAYERS. Wake up California!!!

I dont think you or me could say for sure what wed do in the same scenario.

Should have asked him some questions about your other guest X Raided. I believe they were both on the same yard at the same time. Hector was on Echo Yard at Donavon, same as X-Raided. Something Hector said makes me think he knew Raided and had interactions with him. Hector talks about CO’s retaliate against prisoners and Raided said there were CO’s that were fans or his and warned him against dirty CO’s plotting to get revenge. Hector was a whistleblower against these dirty corrupt CO’s. I wonder if he warned Raided about the CO’s that were plotting against him.
