We have to first sort out the problem of “us citizens voting in the kind of leaders we have”! They couldnt be drunk on power, if we did not give them that too much power.

We need to be careful about demonising globalisation. We need to be specific about the issues which are that tge current model of globalisation has priotitised the movement of money and capital at the expense of people. We need a people centred globalisation with a different economic model. An economic model that is not based on consumotion.

Exactly and globalization has had it's merits. Many of the freedoms we have today are a result of globalization through the propagation of shared values such as the ideas of good governance, global citizenship, sustainability. Many fights have been supported by a a globalized world such as the tearing down of apartheid, or even the independence of our nations (JFK and Martin Luther King supported Kenya's independence struggle through Tom Mboya). All this is a result of globalization. It allows us to trade as well, or even travel. I'm with you sir

About owning plantation i don't think Africans are well prepared for, immediately Africans takes ownership of the plantation they will start sub dividing the land to small uneconomical portions then slums will start coming up . A case in point is eatecland in eldoret when east African tanning company lease expired the land was grabbed by moi and his thugs and sub divided to small portions, that if you go there right now, what used to be a cool canopy of green trees is a dusty and dirty slums villages and lots and lots of criminal activity taking place , that's not what development is all about

Before I pass judgement on the good professor, I invite him to read Theodore Roosevelt's The Man With the Muckrake and the Man in the arena.
It's easy to critique and pass judgement but given the opportunity, few have the moral courage to do exactly what they preach.

No, the vetting was a sham event. If National Gov is too big to work for Citizens maybe federalism with States that are autonomous to some degree might work? What would be the solution to ensure citizens are more involved in governance, get good service and are not subjected to idiot presidents? Why does Kenya need the Executive? Is the Judiciary and minimum Legislature enough? What are the other systems of Government that would ensure Kenyans don't find themselves at the mercy of power drunk tyrannical maniacs?

  • @alexwahome7631

The reason why Kenyan leaders are the way they are is simply because Kenya is not a sovereign state but a hegemony of the West. As such whomever is the president of Kenya has to follow and obey the hegemonic power. In short Kenya is still a colony and our so called leaders represent the colonizers not Kenyans.
