love your videos Igor and I recommend them to everyone I know that's interested in chess. they are only getting BETTER! love learning new tactics and your incorporation of music and jokes is money keep up the great work every time I get an email that you have a new video I get excited
Thank you, I finally won against a Wayward Queen attack today. I think it's such a greedy opening trying to capitalize on an inexperienced player and deserves to be punished. I didn't remember the whole sequence you showed, but I remembered a few of the knight positions and ended up winning messily later thanks to them.
So, for better context: We play Black. White: pawn E4 Black: pawn E5 White: Queen H5 Black: Knight C6 (Protecting the pawn on E5) White: Bishop C4 (Attempting the Wayward queen attack) Black: Pawn G6 (Blocking the threat) White: Bishop takes Pawn on F7, Checking the King. Black: King takes Bishop on F7. White: Queen F3, Checking the King. Black: King E8. This is still problematic for Black. King can not castle, and it's still risky even if black is up a bishop. The king is still vulnerable.
I didn't think a day would come when I laughed out loud at a chess video! I can't wait to try this as on lichess one opponent in 4 tries the wayward queen on me...
another idea worth exploring is actually e4 e5 Qh Nc6 Bc4 g5, repelling the Queen, Most players will the play Qf3 and you could then play f5 shortly after. If white takes with Queen, play d5 IMMIDEATLY, with a discoverd attack on the Queen (Bishop on c8) while simultaneously attacking whites Bishop on c4, winning it. Sure, it isnt as devastating as this, but it works too if you arent a fan of gambitting pawns.
Thank you for this. Your videos are great. I'm low level elo, but have won the last several games in a row. I find those tricksters immensely resign when they lose their queen. Bunch of no chess-playing fools
Took up chess.. again.. after 50 years. Rated at 1150 ish and as I encounter different openings ( and in this case ..lost ) I check out your tactic recommendations. Thanks for your vids...Should take a while but I should turn out to be a decent player...at least in the first third of a match.
6:36 Isn't that just a M3 for black? With Be3. If Knight blocks then you just take it and win. If Bishop recaptures, you retake with knight and have two different Mate threats that cannot both be stopped. Qd1 & Qd2, each square is protected by one of the knights. You can take one of them or move the white knight to cover one of the squares, but you can't stop both.

The 'Butcher' has just created a course on Chessable with extensive analysis that covers the Wayward Queen Attack and deals specifically with your gambit lines. What do we do now?😮
Why would they worry about the pawn forking their pawn and bishop at 3:00 when they have checkmate in two and don’t need to get distracted by this? Also, what should you do if they don’t take but move the pawn forward to threaten the horse, as it’s got no where to go?
i think he showed both possibilities, at 3:00 he showed if they took your pawn, and at 4:50 if they ignore your d5 pawn and go Bh6, of course the light squared bishop is not on c4 so f1 is an available square for the king to go to, but then you just take the bishop with your pawn that has been hanging for several moves. and if they push the pawn and threathen your knight, simply take their bishop with your pawn, and after they take your knight its mate in 2 for you, Bb4+, wherever the king goes to you finish with Re1#. hope this helps
I have a great idea for an episode. Brumenfeld countergambit. It ain't so known and can be pretty good for black. Maybe you'll be interested. Btw great episodes. I love them.
for white at your level i would suggest the london system, its a very sound and robust opening suitable for beginners alternatively for more dynamic positions you can go for ruy lopez, and for black i first played the king's indian defense. hope that helps!
Good day igor, i want to thank you for this "effective" way to overcome the wayward queen "nightmare" since i have suffered a lot. Your way of explaining this line is faboulous & simple to learn. I promise you to study it very well in order to make an agressive, brutal & massive attacks. Have a pleasant day...
They don`t need to move their queen to g3, they can simply play Nc3 or Bd2 and your great discovered check is useless, you wasted a pawn for nothing and gave the whole center to the opponent. Just play Nc6, defend the pawn, then push the queen back with Nf6, make the opponent waste moves with his queen and lead in development yourself. Playing in this video only works if the enemy is a complete noob and has no eye for a discovered check against his queen, if he does you are in a bad disadvantage. Defending the pawn and just doing normal development made me win every game against an enemy who tried to pull a wayward queen attack so far.
Yea bro u have to learn to counter it. It is our own fault for knowing that people play these lines and still not studying how to punish it. Just relax and write down these lines somewhere. Watching this felt illegal, it is nasty work 🔥 Cant wait to try.

Great! Have fun surprising him.

You just turned my tears to tears of joy
This some GM level counterattacking! Beautiful lines.
Just used your plays and destroyed the Wayward Queen attack...felt so good! Thanks
@GMIgor Smirnov I just want to thank you for your new course. Perfect timing! You addressed the problem I've been having. I'm ready to Level Up!!!
Fantastic!

I love the video. Thanks a lot👍
👍
Thanks again and again
Thanks Sir
Much love from South Africa.
5:26 what to do if bishop takes on f7?
You simply take with your king as the knight is blocking the queens vision, and the queen can't take because your bishop is guarding it.
What f7? That bishop can't capture on f7
You are a marvel, Master Igor Smirnov.
Thank u master...thank ❣️
Thank you 🙏👍🫡
Would you say this the new go to strategy to punish the early queen attack over the standard variations?
I didn't think a day would come when I laughed out loud at a chess video!

that being said. some people take with Pawn (exf5) you will have to study how to go from there, i honestly forgor XD
Bb4 double check, followed by RE1 mate
Thank you oh wise and mighty one...
Question at 2:57, what if he just goes bishop h7 you said he would? Aren’t you kinda screwed?

what if at 3.04 after black plays d5. white still plays bishop h6 threataningcheckmate?
Brooooo... You are something else

Bd3 will delay the mate
Played against about 10 different opponents who all used wayward queen. One of them made the supporting moves your revenge requires
Thank you! I'm so tired of facing this attack.
❤I like the way HE teach BRILLIANT IDEAS
❤
Thanks for this video! You helped me crush my coworker who annoyingly always opens with wayward queen! It was 10 minute time constraint, here's how it went:
1. e4 e5 2. Qh5 Nf6 3. Qxe5+ Be7 4. Bc4 O-O 5. Nh3 Re8 6. Qf5 d5 7. Qf4 dxc4 8.
e5 Bd6 9. O-O Bxe5 10. Qxc4 Bxh3 11. gxh3 Qd6 12. Qg4 Nxg4 13. hxg4 Bxh2+ 14.
Kh1 Qh6 15. d4 Bf4+ 16. Kg2 Qh2+ 17. Kf3 Qh3+ 18. Kxf4 Qxf1 19. Nc3 Qxf2+ 20.
Kg5 f6+ 21. Kh5 Qh2# 0-1

Niiiice) thank you
What if at 5:26 after Bh4 white plays Bxc2 offering a queen trade?
Why would they worry about the pawn forking their pawn and bishop at 3:00 when they have checkmate in two and don’t need to get distracted by this? Also, what should you do if they don’t take but move the pawn forward to threaten the horse, as it’s got no where to go?

This video has the exact thumbnail and title style of gotham chess that came out more than 2 years ago

Thanks for the suggestion.
@@GMIgorSmirnov Love your videos. Helped me a lot in climbing. Still helping.
Your vids seem so cool. Seem? My opponents have never moved the way you say they most often do? So far I'm 0-14 when trying to apply your lines lol
How is black castling when they got checked on move 3?
You only lose castling rights if you move your king.
I will be wishing i get such an opponent from now
Dancing queen? Am I hearing strains of ABBA in the background by any chance?
I am new to chess and just got destroyed on an online game from this move! Thanks.
White should play 4. d3 0-0 5. be2 ... to guard the King and castling soon. Don't waste a Queen move.
I'm stuck at 730. What's the best opening for black and white to learn ?
for white at your level i would suggest the london system, its a very sound and robust opening suitable for beginners alternatively for more dynamic positions you can go for ruy lopez, and for black i first played the king's indian defense. hope that helps!
Hello
Thanks GM Smirnov, i just got beaten by this trick😂😂😂
They block a lot with pawn e3 and it's SO ANNOYING!
They play that constantly in chess univirse.
I think you hold the record for amount of marbles you can have in your mouth and still talk - sort of.

Can you type like a normal person
this things rarely work for 1500+
lol this is called the kiddie countergambit

"Hey mate that's what I call strategy!"
I had to come here because so many people are playing this and it is p*ssing me off

I play wayward almost when I'm with white and it's good to know the counters
