2 big pots of boiling water, and the powerful bathroom plunger ( disinfected first!) did it for me after a full minute or two of extreme plunging. I'm proud of myself for clearing it all by myself. Yay me!

Thank you! I had tried the L wrench and the reset and that didn't work. I tried the plunger, that did not work. My sink was not draining at all but I could tell the motor was good. I then used your idea of plenty of boiling water and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much!!!

I started with the vinegar and baking soda, but it was slow going in my bathroom sink. Then I read about boiling water and Dawn! That did the trick! I used about 6-7 pots of boiling water from my tea pot with just a squirt of Dawn! Woke up to a sink drain totally cleared! Yay!!! Thank you!

I like how she conveniently didn't mention that if there is a clog and standing water, your drain's u-trap will likely be full of water, and so you should have a container to catch it all as well as I recommend taping off the faucet so you'll not be stupid and turn the sink on before you replace the u-trap. Anyway, good luck out there

dont go hotter than what comes out of your tap..boiling water loosens/melts the mastic seal around pipes and the drainer underneath, pvc pipes also can distort,,dont do it,,,im speaking from experience it didnt end well for me using boiling water,,😭😰

Put all the pipes back together an viola works just fine. I'm suprised it worked at all b4. What a hassle. Didn't get to use the oatey bc it's only accommodate 2". But if I want to change out the coupler to one that goes frm 11/2" to a 2" which they make, it would probably work. I put the ole black one back on. Good luck!
