Agreed, I follow the Audrain Museum channel here on TH-cam because Donald Osborne is involved with the channel. He is very knowledgeable about any Era.
Anyone else notice Jay start to well up talking about his parents with the tarp, it's pretty special that they were involved with his life that knew to do that, when I turned 17, I had to remind my parents it was my birthday.
I'm always impressed when someone nowadays is truly knowledgeable and passionate about an actual hobby. I could listen to Jay tell stories all afternoon and never be bored.
The most famous and well loved "every day" guy. Jay's huge and important car collection is well done. They are all drivable. All of them. He actually gets his hands dirty working on them. Plus his 1946 Indian chief is just like mine ;-)
I remember when I heard that Jay was leaving the Tonight show I was bummed. These last many years I couldn't be happier, he is in his element and a joy to listen to.
My dad was not in a high paying job when we were kids in the late 60's but he loved to look at used cars at the nearby used car lot. Every few months, on pay day Friday, he'd surprise the heck out of us with a different used car he just traded our old one for. He came home with a huge, 62 Buick, baby blue w/fins, a early 70's convertible Corvair in midnite blue that looked straight off the showroom floor. He let us kids, me n 3 sisters, put silver racing stripe decals on the hood. My mom would just sigh n say, "Oh now what did you buy". It was always a treat for us when he'd drive home with, always, a different used auto. He once brought home two, '71 & '74 Pontiac Le Mans in all black and a lovely bronze w/white vinyl roof. I can't recall so many others. Just a great memory for me of my childhood here in SE TX. My lovely dad just passed away last Monday. He would've been 93 this Feb 2022. RIP dad.
Jay, I love most everything you do especially with cars, but this video was a real highlight of the day when I saw it. You and Donald work so well together. I really hated for it to end.. Thank you both for doing this.
I go to Pebble every year but I am cheap, so I just buy the regular admission ticket to the concours. Then I come home and watch youtube videos of all the other events that took place during Monterey Car Week for FREE! This was a real treat, I must say.
Thank you Ronald, last part of the show, made me so enjoyable, felt so loved, as Jay's parents put on plastic sheet to cover his pick up car from getting wet inside the cabin, many other things about growing up. Really made my day....
The best of your many car-themed programs. For sixty years I had thought and hoped that steam-powered vehicles would make a comeback. At last I have an simple explanation of why that probably won't happen. Thanks for all the great stories and for sharing your collection with us in your programs. High compliments to Donald Osborne.
Let's All Not Forget and Bear In Mind that Jay Leno for Years and Years on Television made some horrific Horrific Remarks about various famous people (including Monica Lewinsky) under the guise of Humor. Not funny then; Not Funny now. And recently he had commented that folks, late night and otherwise are being unkind. Hypocrite !
Excellent, I really enjoyed watching this - Jay and Donald are a really entertaining and knowledgeable duo and it was really good to see them getting younger members of the audience involved too. Thanks - keep up the good work. All the best.
What a great 1.12.56 show.Jay & Donald.!!.we need more of your shows Jay..& humour..the world has forgotten how true humour is instantaneous.and the lol's Jay.. do get a chuckle the way you get to reel the unprepared .in.takedowns..& up's...Cheers.!!
Well, that was just fabulous to watch! Being a JLG (Jay Leno's Garage) fan, I may have heard some of the stories in the past, but here was kind of the rest of the story, or had another entertaining spin. Jay and Donald were very entertaining and covered enough of the interesting parts of Jay's collection in a kind of THIS IS YOUR LIFE, (this is your collection) vibe. Well done and saved to my automotive video file! Thanks for sharing!
I see the 2018 pebble beach Jay and Donald discussion in my "up next" feed - excellent - keep em' coming! These guys do make a great duo as so many have already said.
My first legal car was a 1965 Corvair rag top, found a maintenance book from the 1st owner, went up to 295 thousand miles. Drove it two more years, great car, lotta fun !!!
So apparently Jay likes cars that made an statement in car industry, the first of..., the last of..., etc Anyways, Jay Leno is a real true enthusiast of machines, specially motorcycles and cars. I have a big affinity with these type of persons and I just realize that all my best friends are the same!!! Donald Osborne and Jay match as duo who makes interesting car stories.
I was lucky enough to be at the 86 Pebble Beach event. It is one of the most beautiful places in the country! If you come home late, there are deer walking around front yards! An amazing place
Jay, with reference to TurbIne powered cars the Rover company were running one over here (in a country that quote: "barely had piston engined cars" ) in the early 1950's.
when you have talent and passion and modesty in one package , you have Jay Leno , even tho i cant accept some of his jokes , considering how he grew up , i have great respect for his character and what he has accomplished.
There are so many funny stories from Jay's growing up years that he really needs to produce a "Wonder Years" type of T.V. series with an actor playing him as a youth and Jay narrating it. His mother and father alone are hilarious characters! I laugh every time I hear one of his stories.
I am fully aligned with Jay. All I own is a Lotus Elan, a Focus RS and a couple fast Mustangs, but if I had the means I would do exactly what Jay does -- I just wouldn't be entertaining while explaining the stories. He is my hero as a result. Donald is such a great straight-man for Jay -- who needs Ed McMahon -- he is a perfect way to pull out great stories from Jay.
Wow,, who doesn't absolutely love Jay Leno. When you think about who's who in the automotive world Jay comes to mind. I wonder, is there anyone on the planet who knows more about cars than Jay? He's an encyclopedia of automotive history and can recall automotive information faster than Google. This was an awesome, interesting and fun video.
Wow, this video kinda snuck up on my recommendations list. I have seen no link to it from Jay's channel. C'mon, Jay, we can't wait to find these things by chance. Hook us up.
Hearing Jay talk about the steamer and its 13 tons going six miles an hour and being frightening...Listen to Fred Dibnah's anecdote about his steam wagon getting into trouble coming down a steep hill in the wet...He was talking about going well over 40 mph with it in full reverse and the thing becoming airborne after hitting a slab of solid stone... That had to be scary!
Having lived in Big Sur and worked at Nepenthe I have been to the Concourse d’Elegance a number of times. Pebble Beach is not a ‘snooty’ as you might think . . . it is in California. No matter how many times Frank sings “it’s cold and it’s damp . . . that’s only Monterey. If you drive north to Santa Cruz or south to Santa Barbara, the Sun will come out “Tomorrow “. Any if you’re a “Car Person” (must be PC). This Car Show, and that is what it is,this must be on your bucket list. They always highlight a manufacturer, so watch for your favorite and go. And don’t forget to drive south 30 miles to Nepenthe and have a 🍔 burger . . . Cause that’s what Nepenthe is; a hamburger stand, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright with a Million Dollar View. And if you have a fast car, the drive is magnificent.
Um show fabuloso! Jay descontraido, no seu estilo "The nice kid next door with lots of toys who had everything and anything"... And Donald, the intelligent and classy guy who was the neighbor's best friend -- he called the shots regarding who played with what... As Micro-Chips oxidam, toda a electrónica fica deteriorada. The story about the owner of a prize winning horse, who had the animal stuffed by a professional taxidermist . The preserved animal's body looked alive. However, it only had sentimental value -- the glorious racing days were over! Is that going to be the McLaren's case, 20 years down the road? .
I'd be fine with Jay and Donald just doing the "assess and caress" bit for the entire show. It's fascinating to see someone with that much automobile knowledge.
The really good stuff starts 29 minutes in. I always thought he was a good follow up to Johnny Carson. He still makes me laugh. Those two were the only ones I ever watched.
Donald Osborne needs his own car show...his combination of car knowledge and personality is a winning package...
Hurt my back today, so spent 3 hours watching Leno's Garage and this. Jay is a National Treasure!
I'm always impressed when someone nowadays is truly knowledgeable and passionate about an actual hobby. I could listen to Jay tell stories all afternoon and never be bored.
That is why he is a professional comedian.
The most famous and well loved "every day" guy. Jay's huge and important car collection is well done. They are all drivable. All of them. He actually gets his hands dirty working on them. Plus his 1946 Indian chief is just like mine ;-)
Jay and Donald make a great duo.
The best
Donald Osborne is pure class and style.
I remember when I heard that Jay was leaving the Tonight show I was bummed. These last many years I couldn't be happier, he is in his element and a joy to listen to.

I watched it all. Jay Leno has become my favorite celebrity.
What a privilege to have a proxy seat at the table with two iconic car guys. A video camera in the right hands can be a wonderful thing.
Absolutely love these segments with two gentlemen who share a love for classic cars. I could watch these all day. Keep 'em coming!
May God Bless Jay Leno, He is trying to help & share his Automotive Wealth with all of us, THANKS JAY!
I’d probably do that, as well haha🌞
Thank you Ronald, last part of the show, made me so enjoyable, felt so loved, as Jay's parents put on plastic sheet to cover his pick up car from getting wet inside the cabin, many other things about growing up. Really made my day....
I do not drive at the moment and don’t know a lot about cars, but I love seeing the cars and the stories behind them.
It is truly remarkable the history, numbers and names that Jay remembers when it comes to autos..!!!
What a great conversation. Laughed, loved it!
The best of your many car-themed programs. For sixty years I had thought and hoped that steam-powered vehicles would make a comeback. At last I have an simple explanation of why that probably won't happen. Thanks for all the great stories and for sharing your collection with us in your programs. High compliments to Donald Osborne.
why can't they use a electrical heater to turn the water into steam? why not a hybrid steam and electricity.
I love listening to Jay and Donald. Great show.Thank for the history.😊
Love this story
Donald and Jay are a very slick and funny classic car duo.

Jealous Snowflakes online. I completely agree with your comment Roland.
Jay was on Fire!
Jay Leno is such a great car guy. I mean, he has the CORRECT love for cars
Jay's definition of interesting: "if it rolls, makes noise, or explodes..." Sounds like a winning formula to me. Pick any two.
Excellent, I really enjoyed watching this - Jay and Donald are a really entertaining and knowledgeable duo and it was really good to see them getting younger members of the audience involved too. Thanks - keep up the good work. All the best.
Very slick, splendid duo. Respect these men for knowledge and laughter.

Donald Osborne and Jay match as duo who makes interesting car stories.
Leno is certainly deserving of being in the Automotive Hall of Fame
I gotta say it, I love Jay Leno. What a guy! Thanks Jay.
Donald Osbourne is an incredibly talented writer. Always enjoy him in SCM. Jay's stories are even more interesting than the ones in Leno's Garage.
Love it. Also Osborne = my Doppelganger LOL.
Not one single negative comment that I could find. A first for TH-cam. (edit for grammar.)
Wanna have fun? Look at bad comments from casuals on other videos that jay appear, people light up whoever talks sh*t 😆 don't mess with jay 😤
no conan fans here
I was lucky enough to be at the 86 Pebble Beach event. It is one of the most beautiful places in the country! If you come home late, there are deer walking around front yards! An amazing place
Great video. Thanks guys!
Jay, with reference to TurbIne powered cars the Rover company were running one over here (in a country that quote: "barely had piston engined cars" ) in the early 1950's.

I grew up in Massachusetts and am familiar with places he grew up in!

Jay was brilliant here.
I wonder if Jay regret’s introducing and praising John Lassiter?

Fantastic🤩
I would like to see a 60s Sunbeam convertable in Jay's collection. I had one as my first car.
He has featured a Sunbeam Tiger on his channel th-cam.com/video/fyqo03zmzZw/w-d-xo.html
@@jacobmoses3712 thanks Jacob.
*MAN !! JAY IS A COOL GUY ALL THE WAY AROUND*
This Donald takes ages to get started, I’m here for Jay.
jay is a car encyclopedia
Corvair. One of the most beautiful cars (Even if the list is very long...So in my top 100). Tremendous.
Love that.
And he makes the best out of distraction like the helicopter by 36:00 🤣🤣🤣
The really good stuff starts 29 minutes in. I always thought he was a good follow up to Johnny Carson. He still makes me laugh. Those two were the only ones I ever watched.
Great relaxing to listen car conversation wout been pedantic or boring
