You're insanely good at excell. most videos from other people I just dont get it or they dont explain properly, thanks to you I've created the best methos of recipe storing, creating and costing I've ever had, just wanna say thank you very much :)🤩

This is great! I suspected a hidden tab in the Excel file because Microsoft's spreadsheet compare tool showed it, but I could not see that tab in the Excel document. This helped me locate and remove it! (I had to make it visible first, save the code, and then I could delete it like normal back in the Excel file.)
Hi Sharon. Great video. Is there a way to put a password on individual tabs to prevent them from being opened. I know you can do whole workbook but want to add a layer more.
Hi Hector, yes, you can protect just one sheet in your workbook. Go to the Review tab and in the "Protect" area, click on "Protect Sheet" instead of "Protect Workbook." I hope this helps! Thanks for watching my videos!
@@SharonSmith sorry I meant password protect tabs from being opened within a document. Similar to how access is limited to a full workbook without entering a password, but on the individual tabs.
@@SharonSmith Can you please help here. I would like to hide the Purchase Order form. When I used "VeryHidden" option, I got an error message Run Time Error "5"..Invalid Procedure call or argument. When I removed the option, it worked.
Great suggestion and demo. I always come back to your channel when I want to make my sheets look legit. You have easy to follow instructions and very useful topics. Thank you for all that you do.
Thanks for the tip. The only issue I have hiding tabs this way is the links to my buttons and macros don't work. Is there any way that I can hide the tabs and still use the buttons and macros from my home page?
You could also highlight all the data and change the colour of this text to all white (same as background colour), then protect the sheet to make it uneditable and then implement the very hidden technique.
Hello madam, After I change the visible property to xlsheetvisible, I got message , unable to set the visible property.... Please advise What to do. Thanks
Hello - was this the only tab on your sheet? It will not let you hide if there are no other tabs on the sheet. Not sure if this was your issue or not. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Hello! Same way you make it very hidden, you can right click the tab, view code and set the visible property back to SheetVisible. Thanks for watching!
You should be able to access the Visual Basic editor from the Developer tab. If you don't have the Developer tab enabled, you can customize the ribbon to enable it or you can try the keyboard short cut (Alt+F11) to open Visual Basic. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching my videos!
That would be a nice feature if it was available. Excel does not offer a direct feature to set a password specifically for unhiding a tab. However, you can protect the structure of the workbook with a password, which prevents users from unhiding, moving, or deleting sheets unless they know the password. Here's how you can do it: Protect the Workbook Structure: Go to the Review tab. Click on Protect Workbook. In the dialog box, check Structure and enter a password if desired. This prevents any hidden tabs from being unhidden without removing the protection. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
I hid my sheet. Now I cant see to get it back. I am not given the options for the sheet nor any other sheets in the workbook when I go back in. Those left side windows are gone. H.E.L.P😅
Very very hidden would be to password the tab before following the step in this video. Or to password VBA access. Adding passwords will make it very hidden and locked. Should a user find their way to that menu
Hello Sharon, Thanks for a very useful and simple example of the Very Hidden function.

How to unhide very hidden sheet after?

How about if there is no tab available anymore? All the sheets were VERY VERY HIDDEN and there is nothing to right click on.

Why cant they have a password to unlock the unhide
That would be a nice feature if it was available.
Excel does not offer a direct feature to set a password specifically for unhiding a tab. However, you can protect the structure of the workbook with a password, which prevents users from unhiding, moving, or deleting sheets unless they know the password.
Here's how you can do it:
Protect the Workbook Structure:
Go to the Review tab.
Click on Protect Workbook.
In the dialog box, check Structure and enter a password if desired.
This prevents any hidden tabs from being unhidden without removing the protection.
