    Well done and congratulations Qualcomm! This means that finally Windows will produce an official ARM64 version and it will no longer be an eternal beta version. This means that many software will finally be available in ARM64 Windows, including Sentinelle products. 😱👏👏👏

      Not apples to apples. They didn’t share enough tech specifications to understand exactly but it looks like the max is still in a tier of its own. They were really careful with the benchmark but you can read between the lines the max is still faster.
      Need to understand more about power consumption and it looks like they dedicated more realestate for AI compute than the max has.
      With time we’ll know more but the M2 Max is probably bigger physically with higher tdp and probably more gpu realestate.
      Overall it’s a good start and glad that we now have a more open Arm solution for PC but looks like it’s still a generation or more from pro users. PCI 4 and 4k @ 60hz is a far cry from a modern PC. It looks like it was designed for office work and windows GUI graphics. Not for gaming/video editing

    • @The.JZA.
      @The.JZA. 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ye849 Yeah it’s definitely and awesome start and they did mention that there were many more to come to maybe this is the entry level chip and there will be more powerful ones coming soon. I just thought it was weird that they compared against the M2 Max for single core and then compared against the M2 for multicore. A bit sneaky of them.

    • @ye849
      @ye849 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@The.JZA. Not sure about more chips, i think what they said referred to next year chips. But i hope your right. I yearn for the day you can assemble a PC with an Arm CPU same as you would with x86. Current solution are extremely expensive, offer little support and are server focused.
      And yeah, the entire slideshow benchmarks were cherry picked, this chip probably can’t compete with M2 Pro and we’re 4 days from the M3… a bit frustrating, but better than nothing

    • @quantuminfinity4260
      @quantuminfinity4260 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@The.JZA. There are quite a few things about the way things are phrased and tested in this that raise some odd, somethings a bit off here flags. I’m sure it will be pretty good. But they do seem to be presenting it in an extremely odd way for something that’s supposedly “The Best Period”. Especially when there will be several competitor, announcements and launches way before this reaches market.

    Snapdragon X seems good on paper, but the launch will be DoA. Intel's Meteor Lake 14th gen mobile comes out in December, Apple's M3 is right around the corner too. Snapdragon X comes out in--- mid 2024. Snapdragon X uses Windows on Arm, which means 99.99% of Windows apps will need to be emulated, hurting performance, efficiency and app compatibility. No benchmarks outside of Geekbench, no gaming demonstration, no real world usage shown. No actual laptop designs shown. No mention of prices, anyone can make a very expensive chip that out performs others. Also ARM is currently suing Qualcomm over Snapdragon X/Nuvia/Oryon, as Qualcomm illegally used a license they didnt have, ARM is expected to win and if they do they are demanding no designs using Nuvia be sold, effectively ending Snapdragon X.

    • @fanban2926

      Everything you just said is misinformation. M3 won't do anything since we know the P and E core performance already from the A17, even if arm wins it makes no difference to Qualcomm as both Nuvia and Qualcomm have the appropriate licenses required, they are only debating which to use as one has a lower fee.

      There are some impressive claims In this presentation, But there are so many things in this presentation that raise some flags to me about how they compare it, Comparing the single threaded performance of M2 Max, which has a similar single threaded performance to M2, so there isn’t much of a point in that, but then, comparing the multi threaded performance to the M2. They also didn’t show anything about GPU compute. Based on the super limited information, it seems to be literally less than half of the on paper performance of the M2 Max. M3 Will be out close to half a year before it comes to market. Don’t get me wrong. I’m interested to see some arm competition on windows. But this isn’t even close to out yet, so we can’t make any claims on how it will actually impact anything. Same thing if it was AMD same thing if it was Intel. It’s all theoretical until it’s in people’s hands.

      It’s not a leader in anything until it ships, which won’t be for quite some time yet. There are some impressive claims, but the way they claim it is pretty odd. Comparing the single threaded performance of M2 Max. Which is similar to M2. But then only comparing the multi threaded performance of M2. And then not even touching the GPU performance of M2 Max. M3 Chips will be out over this next month.

    Ah, I would prefer Microsoft and all other companies to not cooperate with snapdragon. We do not need dragons in this World anymore. It was very hard to make them go instinct and you name things after dragons now again, that wherever dragons appeared chaos was there and dragons killed entire villages sometimes, until some Knight appeared that could kill and mess also with dragons, dragons did not stop killing humans until the dragons got killed by those Knights.
