Ah yes, stealth in Hitman * proceeds to shoot four guards in the arm, two in the leg, knock one out with a muffin and runs in a straight line through a compound *
the best stealth ever is Chaos Theory, i will die on this hill. No Sun to Worship has a similar system and it's great. Deus Ex (1, HR and even MD), Thief (2 especially), Dishonored (1 & 2), Prey they all have top tier stealth. Hitman Freelnace is indeed one of the most fun things ever, stealth or not. The trilogy is a top tier game.
It’s not the rating system in hitman he wasn’t a fan of, it’s the ability to save whenever you want a reload, the rating system is just further incentive to save and reload mid mission - if I’m understanding him correctly
@@charlielewis4573im currently playing it and trying to do everything and there is still a lot of slow paced stuff but you can skip a lot of it and just focus on the combat which imo is very fun
People can say what they want about The Last of Us 2, but that game has some of the best enemy AI that I’ve ever played against in a game. The way the enemies talk to each other and work together to find you paired with all of the ways you can take them out is impressive.
yeah gameplay wise that game is so fucking smooth. The controls are tight and feel super responsive, the environments give you plenty to work with, and the AI arent completely braindead
Atrioc bringing up an example of poor stealth being Wind Waker and saying he'd like for if you got caught it's not just game over when getting caught in the main stealth section, Forsaken Fortress, puts you in jail on the other side of the castle...
Every time the new Hitman season came out, I'd save scum every level to get silent assassin on each one before actually fully enjoying each level as they were intended. Granted, I was coming from playing all the other games in the franchise and so I had that neurotic drive to get silent assassin. You then are somewhat incentivised to save scum again if you want to get full mastery on each level as quick as possible (save outside a target's room with poison, a garotte and a sniper, load the save and get a different kill type each time) I personally didn't dislike that experience necessarily but it was much more liberating after the fact (playing contracts, escalations, elusive targets, freelancer).
I loved going through the levels slow asf first time around. I think my final time first time in Morocco was like 1 hour 20 or something. But it was fun asf, similar to Blood Money. But then all the add ons really show a different and equally fun way to play
I didnt save scum for five star rating, but I ended getting into the habit because I had a plan and would just get compromised. The ease of reseting means I would just refresh to get the plan done right, but that would result in lose of immersion by the end of the game. (since it is along the lines of min maxxing)
i feel incredibly fortunate that as a 23yr old zoomer, my fam had an N64, PS2, Gamecube, and then i bought myself a 360. Star Wars Rogue Squadron on the 64, The OG battlefronts on the PS2, and Smuggler's Run/Double Dash on the cube were my go-tos
@@bahaman19901 They are. Especially when it come to western RPGs. Ik that some people consider any game with roles like healer and stuff to be RPGs but by that logic all hero shooters are also rpgs. There isn't any other useful definitive characteristic that doesn't include every other game.
Interesting way to look at it. I would say I agree in general, but it’s hard to decide where the line gets drawn in terms of what counts as a real narrative choice. Like the Witcher has 800 dialogue options that don’t affect anything and like 5 that actually matter for your ending. There’s plenty of choice but not much consequence outside those few
The rating system isn't what turned me off to hitman, my adhd turned me off to it because something else caught my attention. That said, when I did play hitman, I refused to play the next level until I'd gotten five stars, or whatever the rating system was.
hitman 2 kinda sucks, the top rated 5 star strategys all involve sniping. Its super boring but also the only time efficient way to finish the missions 99% of the time.

Did he call in squeex again or no
I felt like I was watching a scene in one flew over the cuckoo's nest. It was insane.
I thought this was a joke, but it is not OMEGALUL
The only atrioc rant that actually made me mad. I was losing braincells every minute it kept going on
Where can I watch this 🙏
Ah yes, stealth in Hitman

Optional stealth is fun, and mandatory stealth is hell

20:00 Not Atrioc taking years to finally realize Ghost of Tsushima is an amazing game
19:30 Would love to see a Ghost of Tsushima run if he can get past the 2 hours of yapping in the beginning
this comment made me reinstall because i quit after like 2 hours of playing because of all the yapping

Tlou2 also had more replay ability imo compared to part 1. It seemed like there were many different ways to tackle segments.
@codysterling9974 100%. while I can't say my grounded run was "fun", it was really satisfying to clear an area
It's also horrifying to hear the scream in pain and yell for their dead friends
I haven't played it because I don't like the textures of the monsters lol

stealth-one of atriocs few strengths
Very few
Payday 2 not being mentioned is crazy
Buddy was really yappin on this one
He forgot a lot of his hitman exclusive contracts it seems. 1:50
I sure did save scum the first 2 levels of hitman till I got 5 stars, then never played again because it took too long.

Where's the yapping segment?
Wow the mention of splinter cel chaos theory online multiplayer got my nostalgia chemicals flowing
Metal Gear Online would probably be a very fun game for Atrioc. You have a sniper, stealth class and a fighter.
Where can I find the original Pokémon video from 59:10? Some frames would make great backgrounds
4:13
13:00 conflict between his old sponsor vs his new sponsor. its like watching darth vader vs luke
that stealth intro was a banger
The fuckin guy batchesting when atrioc comes around on ghost of tsushima 😂
Hot take but most JPRGs aren't RPGs. They are games that larp as RPGs but has no narrative choices.
rpgs as a genre are not defined by their narrative choices, though

librarian sighting at 37:03
Space Marshals has great stealth
I can wait for Silksong another 5 years if that's what it takes
link in windwaker using a barrel waiting
I liked the video just for 54:15
35:15 there is actually a new hitman game coming out but it’s a remake of hitman 3 for vr
I think sekiro did an amazing job with stealth. Probably one of my favorite games to use stealth
I agree, just the Ai should have been a bit better
big a NEEDS to play ghost of tsushima its actually so peak
no VOD its been 4 days🤬

These 😯 thumbnails are cringe af
Play more games.

When mission impossible tier list? Gliz-unc
respect matpat
6:50 counter strike... man wants to just play counter strike, or siege, but that game sucks
Unpopular opinion perhaps... Twitch is a human forge, spitting out NPC's faster than any other website.
It's where individuality goes to die. 😂
stealing content as always
