@@Bond-gz6vg they are classic. I was a big fan of ghost king. Though 1000 orcs and the ones after are attacking mithril hall is some of salvatore best works
@@WarriorViking It's hard to separate my personal nostalgia from the actual writing. The Companions if one of my favorites even though it doesn't tell a story of Drizzt. The Halfling's Gem & Servant of the Shard stand out as a couple of the older ones I love. Really digging the last few current trilogies though.
@@Bond-gz6vg The Hunter is a really interesting aspect of Drizzt, but I agree there was a slightly boring period of writing during the Hunter's Blades Trilogy. I'm glad Salvatore is on the other side of that!
So glad you did this one so quick! Entreri is one of my favorite characters from anything ever. I was so happy when he returned in Neverwinter. The more Barabbas dialogue I heard the more I was like "PLEASE be Entreri". His character development is some of Salvatore's best writing within the series, in my opinion!
Yeah he is awesome! I’ve liked his journey as well. It does seem like he needs a purpose now though. He’s just kind of there. Maybe with where things were left at the end of Lolth’s Warrior we will see him pursue a search for Dahlia and that will lead to something cool for his story.
Great video. One of my favorite parts of Artemis' journey was his time with Bregan D'aerthe and his exposure to Drow culture. I think that time put a lot of things in perspective for Artemis, showing where his rival came up from. I love the Champions of Norrath and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games, so I was thrilled that you could unlock not only Drizzt, but Artemis as well. You kind of expect Drizzt to show up in some capacity as a cameo in Forgotten Realms IP product, but Artemis is a rare sighting.
Awesome video! I always was very intrigued by Entreri and his evolution as a character. I also loved the team up between him and Jarlaxle in the Sell Swords trilogy. Along with Drizzt these three characters are easily my favorites in the Forgotten Realms franchise.
Nice! There's a lot more to explore with Entreri in regards to Bragen D'aerthe and his relationship with Jarlaxle. He is also a very different character now but I talk about that down the road. Thanks for the support!
@@TheDrowHistorian YW!!! Have you done any videos on Jarlaxle? I always loved him as a character and the depths of intrigue he always brought with him. It would be incredible to see a deep dive on him! LOVE ur work!
Good grief, somehow the algorithm found me again, and in turn, I found you. Artemis is my favorite character from any book, no matter that I get older and read more books and discover new characters. There is still not a one like him. Thank you so much for this.
Actually one of my favorite books of Salvatore is the one where Jarlaxle and Artemis are the main characters, i can’t recall the title at this moment 😅 But it is the one they travel to cadderly to get rid of the crystal shard.
Even his skin got there eventually. He became pretty grey after life draining a shade. And D&D has continued to portray Drow less black and more grey over the years.
My favorite Artemis factoid is how Salvatore out dnd'd wotc. Back when the assassin god died wotc told Salvatore to kill off Artemis with every other author / assassin, he says no and that goes back and forth for an hour. Right as Salvatore is about to cave he says "I don't have to kill him, Artemis Entreri is a fighter / thief who just happens to kill people for money"
Consider me a new subscriber. Fantastic treatment of the lore and dare I say an actual human reading a script? Thank you for both. Nothing better than a fan site run by an actual fan.
@@TheDrowHistorian to me as well. Quick question if you have time to answer. The actor that played The Prince in Hellboy 2 or the guy that was the cat burglar in the 2 Oceans movies would be my pick to portray Drizzt. Anyone strike you as a good fit?
@@seanmetcalf918 I plan on doing some trilogy TV show cast videos in the future and I'll have my thoughts together then, but I kinda like Daniel Henney who plays Lan Mandragoran in the Wheel of time show. I know a lot of people hate that show, but he is awesome. That being said, we probably need a black actor to portray Drizzt.
Ótimo vídeo!! Artemis eum ótimo personagem, assim como o desenvolvimento de sua história. What scares Artemis Entreri? A halfling companion of his once openly asked this in the presence of Artemis. Artemis took it as a search for some weakness he might possess, but I think the halfling was thinking if something scares Artemis, it ought to terrify nearly everyone else.
Great video, keep it up, Salvatore and Tolkien shaped my early years of fantasy reading. I love being able to jump back into that series in short spurts, I’m currently reading Malazan Book of the Fallen on book three.
Yeah, highly skilled assassins are a dime a dozen in Menzoberranzan. It was like looking into a thousand mirrors and I don’t think he liked what he saw.
I loved when Charon's Claw was tossed in the lava. Entreri was ready to die so he planted one on Talia and welcomed the end. I like at that point how he was more gray that all out Sith, to use a Star Wars parallel. He'll never be good, but the dude experienced some crazy, life changing stuff.
Amazing pictures and collected lore, narration is quite good too. Tho quality jumps back and forth. I need to find some pictures myself too to use as reference in my DnD Legends campaing. Maybe one day we get a updated remake of this video? Also question. What weapons does Enteri use now? Post Lolths Warrior? What about Zaknafein. What wepons does he use post Lolths Warrior? Sunbladewhip in one hand and boring +3 generic sword in other?
New videos every Monday and you’ll get lots of lore and info on all of the characters and weapons. If you haven’t made it through Lolth’s Warrior, keep an eye out for Bluccidere :)
Artemis was my favorite character. He is very complicated. Later on in the books, he begins fighting with his own past and morality, becoming an incredible anti-hero. It's terrible how there are so few books on him
@@theodorecorwin9630 I’m sure I’ll talk about him at some point! Gotta build the channel big enough for a video about characters like that to get seen.
