I hope someone reads this - it's my hope that someone actually tells me that I am being too cynical - although something tells me I am not. But I would like to know your view on this, if I got things right or wrong, partly right or partly wrong, etc. I believe in everything you talked about in your video - but I believe there is an over-arching, darker, more sinister purpose to it. Sorry for all the symbols, but I want to make sure that my message doesn't fall prey to the You Tube po!itical po!ice.
      1. The !eft-!eaning $ocialist @genda - unlike the r!ght-!eaning @genda - seeks to c0ntrol people by way of debilitating entit!ement programs, disarming us, and by making people believe in their tri!!ion do!!ar programs. Their tri!!ion-do!!ar programs - paid for with our m0ney - serve only to make them more powerful. $ocialist !de0logy, by its very nature, has a global intent - hence $ocialism and globali$m are one and the same.
      2. $ocialists can’t c0ntrol people as long as the people continue to be!ieve in a h!gher being - a perfect infa!!ible entity which in Western cultures has always been the Jude0-Chri$tian G0d. People of fa!th know that humans - including the people who run our g0vernments - are fa!!ible. People who believe in G0d will always present a threat to the $ocialists. They can rise up against them if they don’t agree with their p0litical p!atform - think of the reaction from the r!ght to !ate-term ab0rtion - for one. Throughout history, it was not only the $ocialists who tried to find ways to stop c!vilian !nsurrections against the g0vernment, it was also the fa$cists and the nazi$. How did they all try to solve this issue? Turn people away from G0d.
      3. Throughout history the fa$cists, nazi$ and the $ocialists always failed because they did not know how to effectively turn people away from G0d. Fa!th, in the end, was always stronger. But in these last 50 years, the $ocialist/globali$t @genda has learned that in order to control people you need to completely and literally eradicate rel!gion and fa!th and to succeed in this they had to increasingly normalize pr0gressive ide0l0gy. Pr0gressive !deology is based on ‘$cience’ - to the pr0gressives, we are not made in the image of G0d, we are made in the !mage of man and $cience. That’s just what the $ocialists need in order to succeed.
      4. The $ocialists have nearly won in their quest to eradicate Jude0-Chr!stian values in Western culture. Think of how many millions of people (in Eur0pe and in the Amer!ca$) have left their fa!th (and hence their m0ral compass) and how many millions not only left their fa!th, but embraced pr0gressive ideology. The millions of people who embrace this ideol0gy don’t actually believe it to be just - they have just been !nd0ctrinated to believe it is just.
      5. Do you believe there is a way to stop this progression? I am hoping someone says . . . yes.

@Ello I'm in my early 30s and I've become a progressivist. This video is largely inaccurate. That or maybe my idea of progressivism is different from Democrats. I have quite a few reasons for being Progressive. At least my version of it.

    • @denverlilly3669
      @denverlilly3669 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@Ello I'm all for diversity! I believe it takes all types to make the earth spin. I don't want us all to be equal in the sense of customs and culture. I just don't think those differences should insight war. I'm not a religious person and I do believe in science. I believe in some form of higher power but I won't even try to define it. I don't understand religion.
When I say I'm progressive, I mean it in a sense of evolving. Change is the only constant in the universe. Our species as a whole can't and won't stay the same but some people are afraid of change and thus dismiss it out of hand. To me, being progressive means allowing things to change and trying things that haven't been done before. We can't treat economics the way we did in the 20st century because our economy and way of life aren't the same.
      That's just one example.

I do not identify with any political belief system. However, I wanted to say something in return for the conservatives on capitalism in regards to your comment, if that’s alright?
Capitalism creates an opportunity for lower income people to create small businesses and create a healthier lifestyle by giving them better options to chose things like their own healthcare packages and/or less political regulations on who or when they can start a small business. Thus giving the average American citizen better opportunities to do something new* and fresh* and exciting*.
      Thus, creating “change”.
In my unbiased opinion, all conservatives are not totally “against change”. Instead, I would like to think that conservatives would like the change to be in the hands of the “average” working class American tax payer and not in the hands of multimillion dollar corporations or the select few that get “chosen” to be the leading politicians in our country.
Either way, if we wish to abolish the hate in our great nation during these troubling times.... We should be able to agree to disagree with certain beliefs and find commonalities amongst our communities and nations.
There should be no boarders on how open our minds can be.✌️

Here’s my best unbiased take at the difference:
Conservatives seek to protect what they see as the American tradition. They have a deep rooted distrust of centralized power, and tend to trust individuals to solve problems more than collective institutions. This is manifested in a preference for the nuclear family, private enterprise and charity. When government is needed, Conservatives want power decentralized to the local level, where constituents have greater influence over their direct decision makers.
Progressivism emerged as an ideology in the early 1900’s as a counterweight to private powers, notably the “robber barons” such as Rockefeller and Carnegie. American progressivism took root after the Civil War ended the power of state secession, and solidified the US as a single nation instead of a loose collection of individual states. This empowerment of national identity necessitated a stronger, central federal government. This new version of the American federal apparatus paved the way for a more active governing role. Now instead of merely protecting the negative rights of citizens, such as the right from suppression of speech and assembly, this new government could enforce positive rights, such as the right to affordable housing and social security.
Ultimately, Conservatives and Progressives differ on how they view the role of government. Progressives are far more willing to cede power to the national powers to solve problems they see as too complex for individual initiative. Conservatives tend to be more optimistic about individual prowess, and more distrusting of potential tyranny by the state or unintended consequences of bad policy making by central experts.
The side you take largely depends on your view of human nature, and whether certain people can be trusted to wield omnipotent power to solve our biggest issues.

what progressivism really stems from, is this basic idea: that people should not be limited in their ability to live a life of self-actualization based on the accident of who they were born to. It started with abolition of monarchy and nobility, then with the abolition of slavery, and now in this capitalist economy where there are those born to upper class families and those born into poverty who suffer much different life outcomes the focus is on eliminating these wealth disparities by providing those born into poverty with the same access to institutions and resources as those born into privilege. The goal of progressivism is to eliminate the monopolization of society’s resources by an owning and ruling class and to make sure that the wealth of the nation and of the world serves to benefit and improve the quality of life of all people. Conservatives would prefer to see the world in terms of a competition between individuals in which the winner takes all.

    1. Undependable charities are greater than guaranteed welfare.
    2. Seeking to understand some of this country’s policy shortcomings in regards to minorities and women is not appropriate.
    3. Making sure everyone is covered for any possible medical expense is too restrictive.
    4. Progressives are opposed to voucher programs/charter schools, even though people like Bernie Sanders have openly supported them.
    5. If some law a state passes is unconstitutional, it should remain in place because the people in those states supported it.
    6. It’s really realistic for someone to just get up and move if they don’t like the policies of the state they live in. Especially if they’re like low income and they hate how their state refused to expand Medicaid, so now they’re being crushed with high out of pocket medical costs.
Seems very logical to me. Conservatism for the win. Trump 2024! 🇺🇸

An important point to add is the significance of what many people in the early 20th century saw as fundamental to progressiveness, such as increasing government power and measures seen through institutions like the "welfare state" that are intended to provide greater assistance to society and increase social justice among our citizens. We must remember Thomas Hobbes' analyses of how citizens are willing to given up increasing levels of their freedom for security and protection (e.g. transfers, regulations, other assistance). Progressiveness as a socio-political philosophy openly challenges the principles of conservatism.

There really isn't any comparison. No conservative President since Eisenhower has presided over a balanced budget. Contrast that with Democrats who have done it three times since then.
I'm not sure how one can call themselves a "think tank" for any sort of policy initiatives they cannot demonstrate work. Conservative "supply side" economics, still a call to arms for many conservative policy idealists still ring out every term even though in the nearly 40 years since their implementation, they cannot point to any positive economic impacts.
Contrast that with the progressive model, which created more than 50 years of economic growth in the mid 20th Century. Despite the intentional demonization of policy by those with alterior motives, or just those ignorant of 20th Century economic models and their impacts on the economy ie "Tax and Spend", which intelligent and intellectually honest people realize is propaganda at its worst, Progressive economic successes are largely unacknowladged by conservatives, and thus, their rigidity and lack of innovative curiosity forces them to miss opportunities to impact Progressive Economic policy and offer real improvements to its proven success.
It should be noted for those who think "tax and spend" is accurate...it's a lie. The idea is not, nor has ever been the redistribution of wealth. Some current proposals by self-styled "progressives" actually DO bring this caricature to life, and they cannot succeed, because they lack insight, despite being offered by politicians who should know better. During the successful 50 years of progressive economic policy, we saw top marginal tax rates move between 70-94%. The latter was only during war time, which may explain why unimaginative conservatives think it is a government revenue program at a time they should be pumping everything into the business of war. That top marginal rate was rarely if ever paid. That's because it worked as designed. Conservatives have warned that our top marginal rate would collapse the economy if we were to move it any higher. If it were a revenue grab, as they think, they might actually be right. We don't know, because in the 50 years it was more than double, it had the desired effect of encouraging businesses to REINVEST their profits, rather than hoarding large sums of cash. This is the problem with money not being mostly concentrated among those who drive the engine of the economy - the middle class. So if wealthy people begin hoarding wealth, we warned, the econom y suffers a lack of liquidity. Money isn't moving around. It's not having the compounded effects of a true bottom-up economy. They said we were talking nonsense, that we didn't understand how it worked. Yet, look at the present (and I'll even exclude corona-era metrics from consideration as agesture of good faith. We have corporations, in the absence of policy which drives them to reinvest or be taxed at extraordinary rates, doing exactly what we warned. Most of these corporations making quasrterly "wait and see" comments are sitting on record amounts of cash. Completely liquid. And doing absolutely nothing.
This very basic concept is probably the reason conservatives will never tell you, or will try to play a shell game with, the fact that the two largest returns for every government dollar spent are Unemployment, and Food Stamps - two programs they continuously assault with denial, even though it has been the case for a very long time. This shouldn't confuse them. No one is an advocate for fraud within the system. We all agree that we should attempt to make fraud and cheating as scarce and improbable as possible. But every dollar of those programs are returned to the economy. Now you may THINK that is artificial stimulus, but the dirty little secret is that, while actually not entirely untrue, it wouldn't be sustainable if it were abused and it isn't a preferable economic engine starter, the "artificial" impacts are only partially true for the first step. But once they spend those benefits, and they spend every dime of them, those have real and substantial impacts on an economy struggling to fire on all cylinders. The grocery store has increased sales, the sales drive employment, increased demand drives more shipments, more demand for produce and farm commodities, increased sales mean raises and higher wages, and more workers. It has profound, and granted I am oversimplifying a bit for the sake of digestion, but those rippling effects aren't our THEORY, just like Progressive Economic Theory has 50 years of data we can look back on and agree that they just so happen to correspond to the nation's most prosperous years (all citizens and economic groups considered) and the world's largest middle class, which conservative policy has notoriously decimated and blamed on the very same progressive policy growth we can show, and they cannot duplicate.
If you think I'm full of crap...GREAT. Let that be the start of more questioning and fact checking from multiple sources. Weigh the data. Look at the claims. Look at the results. Are conservatives consistently misguided, or is their continuous spread of misinformation part of a plan hatched in the early 20th Century to undo the legacy of FDR and to invalidate every one of his many achievements, which...if they were actually intellectuals...they would capitalize on his success and point out (rightly, for once) that his ideas were heavily influenced by his cousin and a personal hero of his - Teddy Roosevelt, one of the founders of the Progressive Movement, and not hypocritically so at the time, a lifelong Republican.
My grandfather was a real conservative. He would have been sickened by the "conservatives" of today, who despite caliming themselves to be the authorities on economics and business, only seem to be able to show success when they actually make policies that do exactly what they say the Democrats want to do - give money away. Except the citizen they waive the flag for and rile up with their vitriol are at the bottom of their concerns, as is any real progress in economic policy, evidenced by their more than 75 years of misinformation and denial and a complete failure to give any progressive initiative the credit it is long overdue.
