Brian, I would seal up that compartment where you have your hot air duct routed through because any exhaust from the diesel heater outside can work its way up through the compartment and into the camper asked me how I know. You can use spray foam to seal up that compartment. It also might not be a bad idea to use waterproof foil, duct tape, where the hose exits around the bottom of the compartment for further sealing.
These machines burn pretty clean meaning virtually no CO ppm, add in the exhaust is outside and dispersed into the atmosphere the chance of that happening is, you figure out the rest.
You know what's best for you. I never think about the wood stove doing that to you but it's in a small place. I sometimes watch Timmy/Truck House Life and he has a diesel heater in his little camper. I hope it works well for you. :)
That was great to see how the diesel heater works. I agree about using wood stoves. Good sleep is so important at night. I've been thinking I wanted to buy one, maybe I will try that brand as well.
@@GHE2005 it helps when someone like Brian goes over and tests these products out cause you know he will be completely honest and tell you if it's junk or not. This helps out a lot.
I'd prefer not to have a long air duct hanging out of the bottom of my truck. That would probably snag on something and rip off with the trails I go on.
The discount code still isn't working, I just tried it. I may look closer after it is updated and works. Thanks for the great review as Hubby is looking for one. Thanks again.
Would like to know the exact physical dimensions of the exterior of the TB2 Box with and without the hoses and exhaust connected. Also, can you fit a hose to the intake and recirc your air to improve efficiency and how much longer will it run if you recirc your air?
Hello, no I didn't have to use a heat shield. I love the simplicity of setting this up. Can't wait to get my home gym dialed in so I can use the Hcalory in there!
Cool! I’ve thought about a heater and was thinking about running through one of those compartments in my Tacoma as well. Nice to see someone do it. Have you come up with something to keep the dust out when not in use?
Hey Brian! Having searched out several brands I'd like to know more about the durability and longevity of these diesel heaters before purchase so I'll keep watching and see if you begin to have any issues with it down the road. From reviews, 3 months seems to be a stress/breaking point for a lot of models. Thanks for the review, your friend in Las Vegas!
I've found that three months is about the time it takes for a diesel heater constantly run on low (which leads to soot build up) to soot up and need cleaning out. The trick is either to run it on higher settings or to run it on high for a while before shutting down to burn off the soot. That's my experience for what it's worth.
In my experience, if you run it on low constantly it builds up soot and three months is about the time it will take to soot up completely and not start. The antidote is to run it on higher settings or turn it up full for half an hour every time you use it.
Brian, great install and video!! Can you please leave a Amazon link for the long hose you used? Thank you in advance.😊I'm going who run the same diesel heater but up into my Rooftop tent thxs!
@earthboundmartian612 yeah real crazy that outdoor channels are letting us know this heater is a good option to use this winter. You should stick to Amazon reviews because those aren’t at all crazy (or fake)

I have that same hole saw

@sCotto359 Yes very helpful & true he is very honest. 👍🏽
I am thinking about adding a diesel heater to my Kimbo camper set up. Love the fact there's no loud ticking noise, plus the simpliciyy of use.
Keep it coming please. I love watching your videos.
Buy extra ducts and leave them in place. That way you just have to grab the heater.

Nice!! Solid piece of gear.
The bit needed for that screw is called a Double Square Bit which is sold on Amazon. Sometimes a square bit will work.
I think those screws are torx, easy to find driver bits at a hardware store or any tool supply place.
Extend your thermostat into your truck or camper , simple to do and makes a huge difference.
Using the heater on both the truck and camper was my idea. 😎
Yes, but then you have to run your truck...
Good job; did you have to use a heat shield where the hose connects to the camper?

Going by other vid’s they run it at max to stop the soot build up inside the heater, or at least once every day
Tire step mounted mine with an insert for the rear passenger window, not permanent on 3rd gen 4Runner
Drive star bit is what you need. Most likely T-22 size. I could be wrong on the size.

No more camping wood stoves for me!!!!
Specialty bolt. and a hole saw from Lowe's would have made that soooo much easier.
Yet making a 4 hour round trip to pick up one item doesn't make sense. Took me a few minutes longer and everything turned out just fine.

@OffGridBackcountryAdventures
I'm looking to put one in my shed/hobby shop,
do they make a gas vs diesel heater?
Yeah, there are heaters that can tap into your tank if you are using regular gas. They are pretty expensive though (thousands $$).
Very good job 👍 Brian Hello Beautiful meadow kiss 💋😘
Just buy a camper n be done with it gees man.
