Thanks for the review. The extra port is not an external mic jack though. It's a micro HDMI port. If you have a micro HDMI to HDMI cable, you could connect the camera directly to your TV to view photos and video. I just got my camera today, so I haven't tried it, but my regular camera and tablet both have this port.
Amazing the number of "GoPro" style matchbox cameras there are on the market now and, from the reviews, most seem to be good value for money. I recently bought one (not the Lightdow) to try for myself. Once it stops raining over here, I'll shoot some stuff and post it up.

No, I was using something different on both of those occasions. I did a video a couple of days ago called Camera Stuff that shows the flex tripod I use and the car dash tripod I used.
I had trouble with that too but once you figure it out it's simple from then on. At least that's what I remember before I gave the camera to my nephew. Hope it worked out for you...thanks!

I got one of those, cost me just a a bit more and it has wife.. Is amazing how those gopro look alike has come down in price.. Still use my drift for the bike.. Just for the remote... And the song as100v when walking for the stabilization but otherwise that cameras are jus awesome for the price. Take care man.

The only negatives I see is that, like most action cameras, the lens does give the video that fisheye effect and with the waterproof case on you are not able to pick up the audio well, again that happens with most cameras with a waterproof case. The only thing I noticed, was that it took a bit of time to adjust to darker, and lighter. I am interested, I might just get one and put it through the NT8 paces!! Oh on more question, which side of the camera is the external mike Jack on? on the non button side? In the case I mean.

You mentioned that the video cycles, so it records 3/5/10 minutes videos and then it starts a new one. When you edit the videos to splice them together, does the video come out seamless or will there be a gap between videos where one video stopped and the other started? just got my ld6000. to capture audio, I am using digital usb mic. found on ebay and amazon for $4. or $9. clip it the actor and can shoot 100 yard to get good audio. syned with windows movie maker

Thanks for the review. I just purchased this camera to go on my Mule610 side by side because this one has a removable battery and my current camera does not and has bit the dust. Do you have any recommendations on how to mount this to a side by side ATV using the waterproof case?
There are 3m stick on mounts and several different clamp type mounts that should hold. Always a good idea to also tether the camera to the ATV just in case.
I disassembled one of the mounts (the small one that comes apart in the middle, and used that to attach to my current mount. It works ok. How would you tether the waterproof case?
Hard to say without seeing your setup. If there's now way to attach a line, super glue might be an option. Again though I would have to check out the setup before figuring out a tethering option. Good luck and hope the camera works out for you on your ATV (bet you get some great shots).
I actually use the camera as a dash cam. I have to run on a state road between my place and my dad's and people think our two lane country road is an Interstate. However, since I have checked this camera out and now been using it for a few days, I may well start making videos with it. As for attaching to the vehicle with a tether, that is easy, I just need to know how to attach the tether to the waterproof case.
Yes, all these action cameras like this have a single photo mode which you can snap photos. Most of these are super wide angle lens on them, so the photos will come out looking a bit fisheye look to them. So if that bothers you, then maybe this isn't the best camera for you.
I just take the video card out of the camera, put it in an adapter and plug into a usb port on the computer. I use Magix and Windows Movie Maker. If you are just starting to edit video Movie Maker is the easiest and it is free. Hope that helps!

Can someone help me. I just bought this same camera but my daughter kept touching the settings. So I've tried the Camera a couple of times and the screen turns off after a couple of minutes while is recording. It keeps recording normal. But the screen turns black and to see the screen on again, I just touch any of the side up and down bottons and I can see the screen again but it's annoying. And, since I don't know much about this camera I have no idea what is going on, is there some type of energy saver for the screen or what. I was moving around and everything, so is not that the camera is not moving. I reviewed the videos and they kept recording the whole time. Is there something we touched in the settings. She just had it for like 1 minute and touched the settngs. I don't know if she turned something on. some screen saver on or off. I dont' know. or is it defective? It records fine, sound is ok, video and everything but just that problem that the screen turns off after a minute or so but it keeps recording.
I wish I could help but I gave this camera as a gift. It does sound like a settings issue. I would suggest using the amazon link in the description and posing your question there. Good luck!
Go to the settings menu and scroll down to "screensavers." You have choices of 1, 3 or 5 minutes or to just turn it off, so that the display will always be on when the camera is on.
The built-in microphone is right by the USB port, but there's no microphone input jack anywhere. The list of features he's reading from doesn't list a microphone input, so I can't guess where he got this idea from.

Might be able to put a strong band of some kind around the case to tether to or to the mount where the case attaches might work.
