this is just mind-blowing!...the whole plot is gripping and the climax made this an absolute classic short-movie!...Love the actors & their performances....needless to say the cinematography is awesome!
This was so good!!! The shot towards the end, screaming out the TV, that was awesome! I admit I was just looking for FX3 footage, but this was just incredible.

This was absolutely awesome! I loved it and thought the storyline was so unique and creative. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have been able to come with a story as cool as this one. Amazing job! The girls were fantastic actors as well; they portrayed their roles flawlessly and it didn't even seem like they were acting, they were so natural/genuine as if they were in a real-life situation. Congrats on one amazing film! I'd love to see another one of these where they show them all meet up again and escape being in the tv. Thanks for sharing your work and uploading it; I enjoyed it a great deal 👌👍

This is truly amazing, thank you! You have definitely demonstrated the Sony FX3's cinematic abilities. I also read the case study. Also very good. Not sure if I can afford MasterBuilt lenses, but am using the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM. From the article, I am understanding that having a good story can help. However, I would like to learn how you did it, as far as the color grade and best exposure settings. and am willing to take a course or pay someone to teach me for the right results. Thank you.

Fitting that Sony would make a horror film expounding the evils of VHS tape.
Started off a bit okay, then turned it up to 11 at the midpoint! Awesome story!
Amazing, my only complaint is that in the intense moments of the monster, the camera movement was too steady and stabilized, I would prefer hand held or shaky footage, to match the moment and desperation of the characters, however I came for the footage and stayed hooked, good job. 😊
since FX3 is approved by Netflix, this could be easily an episode of Black Mirror :)

Something feels very inorganic. I think the dialogue is just so unrealistic it kills everything.
FX3 footage is wonderful, the story is so predictable but nice, the acting is unwatchable.
Well the lighting is not really "Cine" Sony. There is definitely room for improvement but it's cool, that you actually produce short films.

I needed to not be the one to say it. And I can’t place my finger on it, maybe it is the light, it looks super “video like” maybe it’s just the unshaped light.

DISCLAIMER: i don't want to talk bad about the work of those people i just want to clarify why in some shots it looks more like an iPhone video which is not the fold of the camera:
Exposure: Windows are blown out (which you can get away with but then you'd have to fully blow them out) but there is still a little info.. not enough though to make a picture out of it.
Texture: they could have dirtied up the picture with either haze, a well textured (older) cinema lens or glimmer glass or by adding more grain in post (which maybe wouldn't make much sense cause they wanted to show of the quality idk).
Lighting: Even though for the most part it's lit very well and "cinematic" i.e. backlight, upstage lighting etc., sometimes they have decided to go frontal lighting which always looks like a comedy. But of course it's way easier to achieve. Also in some shots the sun has been very high (mid day) which of course lets you shoot fore more hours a day, but going for golden hour for exterior establishing shots makes much more sense when it comes to cinematography.
4:04 for example: very harsh lighting and way too much fill light, contrast ratio could have been a little higher so the right side of her face is more in shadows.
5:35 very unmotivated drone shot. Would have been much better using a wide shot with some push movement. Drones nowadays always look pretty cheesy for the most part. 🙂 But it of course comes down to personal taste. 🙂
@@david_garibaldi yep. The unshaped light is what’s doing it for me. The haze would have fit as well for the location. Right on.
