    Can confirm this bike is incredible, picked one up the exact same model last week off second hand market and rides as great if not better (and lighter) than my mates carbon bikes. Great value for money. Great review thanks

    Thanks for the video. I just bought the TCR SLR 1 2015 matt black model with Ultegra for an amazing price as was the last on in a store. From 2600 AUD down to 1800. Extremely happy with this bike so far. Very responsive, Very easy to climb Hills e so light!! I bought a set of Shimano Ultegra pedals for it for like 120AUD. So total price just over 1900AUD. I think this bicycle with a weight under 8 kgs with pedals is an amazing bargain.

    I test rode one of these today. not too many left in Aussie stores these days. the store reckons I can have it for aud1500, so I'm pretty keen. cheapest bike I've seen with 6800. a few major impressions:
    - they use proprietary stems and seat posts.
    - the bike's P-SL1 wheelset weighs 1780g. which is not a race set by any means. The C24's weigh 1384g from memory.
    - the weight is very good for alloy, though not as light as a CAAD10.
    - if you keep it dry and out of the heat, and don't smash too many potholes, this frame should last 100,000km imv. I'd never say the same about carbon.
    - I agree 6800 is absolutely brilliant. No need for Di2. 6800 is leaps and bounds better than 6700 too.
    - the geometry on this thing is the same as all TCRs, which is pure race breed. I usually ride a 575mm effective top tube with a 120-130mm stem. But I don't feel cramped on the M/L of this bike, which has an ETT of 570mm. I test rode it with more bar drop which can reduce reach.
    - My current ride is a Madone with Di2. I've seen a lot of bikes get trashed in criteriums so would prefer to race a cheaper alloy bike.
    IMO, at aud1500 in March 2015, this bike is the best value competition bike available.

    I would spend a bit more money and go ultegra 11. It's absolutely fantastic! Functionality on par with dura ace. My other bike is a lynskey helix with di2 and I love the giant just as much. I have always been a fan of well made aluminium bikes and giant is one of the best. A much better buy than a lot of carbon bikes.

    Hey, two questions. Few questions if I might.. Would you use that bike for commuting? Is comfortable enough for going over all the uneven spots? Do you know how big wheels can it handle? How would it perform with some marathon/ cyclocross tubes and heavier terrain?

    Hi there, i ve just bought a tcr slr 2 (2015) as my first road bike to train for triatlon. Groupset 105. Do you think it will be enough for me?

    • @Plasmo20
      @Plasmo20 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plenty. 105 is excellent. Don't over spend. Rode the wheels off it, see if you can wear it out before thinking of an update. I have spent a lot of money on 'expensive' bikes thinking more money = better results. Not true. I now ride an old Titanium bike with old 7800 duraace, cost me $680 and I have no trouble keeping everyone honest. The bulk of the performance is in the rider and the riders skills and smarts.

      It will be an excellent bike to start of with and keep going with. You might at some time down the track upgrade to faster wheels. It's about the only thing that will make a difference in performance. I wouldn't rush it though.
