There are a lot of barriers. You can find beginner deckbuilds online. Sadly they didn't really put out any well constructed starter decks either. If you want to see it in action, check out team covenant on YT?. They have a playlist of games. If you start at the top, it's pretty informative since they're navigating the rules together as they play.

Great pack rips. Mara Jade and Thermal Detonator were may favorites. I wish this game was easier to play, might be fun to revisit it.
