Hi Robin, watching you do this, I was wondering if acrylic paint could be used to do the design just because I know that it wipes off easier with water as opposed to redoing the whole nail if I would use polish?
I use acrylic paint. I answered this in detail in the comment section of the newest video i have...pink granite! It details everything but my videos explain this all the time. I hope this helps you. Alcohol works better than water for cleaning and causes less damage and time loss on clients. Xoxox
I absolutely never cease to admire how you can come up with new designs like you do, Robin! Your sense of balance and color is such an innate gift! For this mani, your gradient was outstanding, too. I wish you had included it in the video. Sunshine had a horrible day yesterday! My husband had just put her in the car for a trip to the groomer's to get her nails done, then come back into the house to pick up packages to be mailed when... the skies lit up and the entire ground shook with the thunder. End of trip for nails before she got out of the driveway! The rest of the day there was thunderstorm after thunderstorm. Sunshine is so frightened of thunderstorms! No matter what we have done, nothing works with her so she isn't so terrified! She spent the afternoon shaking and panting from stress, jumping in and out of my lap, and running between my husband and myself. Pooooor baby! She would send you her love. but I think she's still pretty traumatised.😞
JayKB i was going to add the gradient but figured its so saturated online with just gradient tutorials why add time to mine! hahahahhaha im glad you like them and send our little lovebug a hug from me. i missed seeing you jan, i have been so busy with the living room but the trim is done and im trying to gain courage to teach a class in a fee weeks. please send me strength!!! Haha!!! huge higs and have a great weekend!!!!
I'm soooo glad that your house is coming together for you!! You have NO idea how much I relate and empathize with you! I know that your class is coming up soon, and even thought of taking Sunshine and kidnapping you for dinner afterwards. 😉. But I know that everyone else is going to want your time and attention, so ... another time! Sighs. You're gonna do grreaaat, Robin. Everyone there is going to want to learn, and all ya gotta do?? Relax and ... teach what you know and do the best. And you should know, YOU ARE the B.E.S.T!!! There's NO ONE in nail art who doesn't know your name! Although there are many idiots out there who know it, are do jealous of it, a.d say horrible things... none of those cretinous idiots are going to be there! Love ya, pal!😘
omg...i just busted out laughing!!!! first...jan, are you near portland...please forgive my bad brain. and?.........your assessment of the cretinous idiots made me more nervous...LOL..i should hope i have not collected throngs of cretinous, ensurient and somewhat prehensile mercenaries basking in the demise of my goals!!!!!!!!! hehehehehe read that to sunshine with a slightly loud and affirmative tone! *laughing hard*
Oh... I CAN'T read it to Sunshine!!! You made me laugh so hard I had to grab my inhaler... I'm still trying to just... breathe!!!😭. You KNOW that none of those.... add ALL your and my adjectives here... are going to pay you $$ to give you anything but their undivided attention to learn... I am going to have to tell you about my worst seminar EVER! When you quit laughing, you will know the ignominy of true failure... which, when all was said and done, was only a failure in my mind. I expect to give 200% for a seminar. I never started one without so many butterflies that I should have been able to just float onstage to the podium! You'll be the same way, but once you start in, it all goes away. No more nerves, butterflies are back out in the garden, and you just relax and start to talk... You'll end up totally exhausted, on a high like nothing else you have experienced, then start thinking of all you could have, should have said but didn't. And your next time... those could haves, should haves, will be added... But every class you give, you are the one who will learn the most! Once you actually get started teaching, you're going to wonder why you were ever afraid. It's the nature of leadership, and you're going to do just fantastic. You, like I, are going to give your 200% ... and receive twice that back! Just expect the normal, 'OMG, what did I get myself into?!' at the beginning, and know that once you open your mouth, the words will be there. Our subconscious saves us from letting us become inadequate! Really!😉
Now that I can actually breathe again after laughing myself into another asthma attack, I came back to read this, in an affirmative tone... to Sunshine. Oops... memo to me... do NOT LAUGH!! Yes, Robin, Centralia is close to Portland. About an hour and a half drive. Much closer than Florence! 😃
Oh, I forgot something I wanted to say. I know people in general want videos that are short and to the point..you know, that instant gratification. (I'm guilty of it too) I would LOVE to see a video that begins when your client sits down until the client leaves. I want to watch over your shoulder for the whole appointment/process. I know it would be long and tedious, but I also know there's a lot of us out here that would love to see it. 👍🏻💅🏻😁💕❤
Those are STUNNING! I love how elegant the chrome comes off when applied over a neutral color. It's so pretty without being in-ya-face! Love the magnolias too. Definitely one I'll have to attempt. As always, thank you for the inspiration! :-)
MissMylaKay haha!!! so was the little word grabbing man in my head!!!!! it makes me laugh how inwas cutting her off because he was yelling it to me and i was determined to snatch that word.out of my mind if it killed me!!! laughing!!!!
U're aaalwyas an inspiration...I thought about the two branches that make a kind of circle on the nail...well....with a chrome nailpolish it could be a kind of flower cameo...yes yes...that's a crzy idea:D:D have a wonderful weekend my dear xoxoxo
Hi Robin I love watching your videos and I have a request with your next video could you please please film the whole process for us so we can see everything you do ?? also it will be a longer video for me to watch cos I get sad when your videos are almost finished lol gorgeous finished product
you are just so dang sweet. thank you so much for all of your kindness. its very difficult for me to learn names and who belongs to which title and on which platform but let me say.....i see you!!!! haha! i see you and i am so glad to see you every time. you brighten my days :D *huge hug*
Que bello tu trabajo. Siempre intento hacer tus diseños pero en el país donde vivo se me ha hecho difícil conseguir los pinceles. Seguiré buscando... Beatiful job. I always try to make your designs but in the country where I live it is difficult to get the brushes. I'll keep looking. I write in Spanish for your "gracias" jajaja
Wow! this is truly beautiful and elegant. love love love all the way from the Caribbean island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I am graduating from nursing school in June and I wanna get my nails done. I'm thinking a deep red, plum looking colour with gold designs. Any suggestions?
after i polish i get my paints ready.....then, the whole time i am painting the polish is drying underneath so it dries as i paint. when i topcoat, i just have to wait for that to dry 6 minutes and they are out the door! xoxoxo
Woooooow! Those are gorgeous, Robin! I wasn't happy with my cnd vinylux polish. I had 4 or 5 bottles and ALL of them had clumps. I don't mean itty bitty ones, I'm talking if they were any bigger they wouldn't have come out of the bottle. I was so disgusted, I threw all of them out. I'm glad yours are better.
😍😍😍 This is my kind of nail design! If only I could grow my nails to a decent length without them braking on me 😭 I used to have nice strong nails, then I was diagnosed with diabetes and with all the years without treatment (damn doctor wouldn't listen to me), my nails, along with my hair, have become thin and break so easily 😟 But at least I can dote on your client's nails and drool over your amazing designs 😆
Chromes need gel topcoats to really work. I have tried so many other topcoats until I gave up and got an LED lamp and a gel nowipe topcoat. Chromes are also exceedingly messy to learn to use. Robin makes it look so easy! But if you really want to learn chromes, be prepared for a learning curve on the mess factor. :-)
Ansje Loef it is not hard but it us difficult to have the extra products around if you dont use it a lot. you must use gel at this time for them to stay nice and really shine but i think its worth it ig you do a lot of art. if you love hand painting always this is just an added extra you can do ❤❤❤
agreed.........if you are on a time limit, it could set you behind. If you are in a shop, Id go in with the other techs on a bottle of gel and a tub of chrome and share a led light...........that way you guys can all keep up on a trend without investing a lot of extra money......MAY I BE SO BRAZEN as to compare chrome to a really bright and super pretty highlighter on your face..you wont use it every day most likely but (some girls do) and its GREAT to have in your make up drawer...LOL but? also pretend its very hard to get off and you have to get a special make up remover.....its THAT kind of thing....its great but its a pain also...*laughing*
Robin, These nails are just stunning!! How long does it take you to do a clients nails from start to finish including the base coat, nail polish, the nail art, and the top coat as well as the drying in between? i am just trying to get an idea of how long it will take me to do mine. Of course I can probably double that time since I am a beginner :)
that is an unfair question!!!!! LOL okay.....so!!!! .....how many times have i done designs like this one before this one is just uncountable!!!! how many times did i fail and have to start over until i got it down.........tonnnsssss.......... and then how many times did they mess it up and have me fix it etc. it is THOUSANDS and thousands ..i cant even count how many times i have done things like this. i have 150 tutorials on flowers now on youtube in the last handful of years ...over 1,200 total....i have erased about 500 videos for poor quality.....and thats just 6 clients who let me film. at any time, i can have up to 120 clients and i have done over 2 million nails...so, my speed is ONLY because of my experience painting for so so so many years in so many ways. i can do the fill, the paint and have them out the door with this design in an hour and 15 minutes. with filming, longer....and with filming on a bad day with interruptions even LONGER....but the filming is what takes time for me now and while you are struggling with time on nails, i am struggling with time on filming so i can learn this...its like, we are all learning and i do my very best to get it to you so you get faster and skip the hard parts.....but i will say when i first started, designs took up to an hour per nail......i would set aside an extra hour and do one nail with a design...that is how i started...i hope this helps you and that you feel okay with being exactly where you are....because it is just about having fun and trying to stay on your own time so you keep your clients happy :D xoxoxxo
Thank you so much for answering my question in such detail. I love your suggestion of starting with one nail. The problem I find with myself with is that anytime I want to try something new, I jump off into the deep end and try to do the hardest thing. I have in mind what I want to do, so I am just going to buy the acrylics and your brushes. I messaged you about what a good starter kit would be, but I think I am just going to buy what I need for doing my first nail and then build from there. I used to do my own acrylic nails, but I am going to try the acrylic dipping with nail tips. I heard it is supposed to be faster than the traditional acrylic. I got so tired of how long it took me laying the acrylic down on my nails, because I am not professionally trained. I have only done one other person's nails and that was a little girl of a friend of mine who was so fascinated with my nails that she wanted me to do hers. I actually can't do other people's nails because I don't have a license or a degree in nail technology. I just watched the lady who did mine and then started doing it for myself on my own nails. It definitely took me twice as long as it did her. This nail art is just something I am wanting to do for myself. Thank you so much for making these videos. You are the best!!
HavenLily you are so welcome. the nail part of.tjis is a whole.other room. lol. it took me years to learn the nail part of it. however, i jump in the deep end too and make so much extra workbfor myself and why i do these....to help others skip the mistakes i made in my career. i use only 2 art brushes and they are at robinmosesnailart.com and i wish you tons of success but mostly ..tons of fun and joy in this craft that lasts a lifetime 😊❤😊💙😊
Thank you so much. I know I am driving you crazy with questions but promise this is the last one--at least on this video :) :) I saw some nails done the other day using the one stroke paint method. Have you ever use that and what do you think of it?
These really are beautiful! But what happened to the part of the tutorial where you add color to the white petals? That was the part I wanted most to see! I do enjoy your videos, thanks for all the beautiful work!
hahahhaaha! you made me laugh beks! so...the SKILLS come with practice and dangit, i cant find anyone with bigger nails either!!!!! cherry bomb just got another job and it conflicts with scheduling...hahahhaahah so, if you dont give up, i wont! but, most of all, thank you and just be patient and have fun, it truly does come together and you amaze yourself at what you can learn. i didnt know how to do this.........i just couldnt fail...i had too much to lose and so i just went all in and practiced until i cried for many years. i didnt have any new ideas or any videos to help me.....i had to just make them up and practice.....and now i am so so grateful i can share this here, with you! y ou dont have to cry as much as me and for that, i am so happy. so, dont give up if you feel you are failing because i feel like i fail every day still :D *huge hug* :D
oh so sweet of you and I'll just keep on practicing - I guess that one day I will be satisfied (in some way)... or maybe I'll grow some bigger nails 😄 but until then.... I keep watching you, it's just so inspiring! Thank you for making a lot of my days!!! 🤗
I think that is why I laughed .... because girl.... i fear so much ..even now!!!!.....and what i have learned is to just paint those tiny nails or whatever nails you have in front of you and enjoy making your art exactly how you like.... there are so few things that make us smile....and, for me, when i can lose myself and just have fun and over time, my work shaped up and i got better at it!! hahahah!!....knowing i can have fun AND make others feel beautiful far surpasses ANYTHING i have ever painted, no matter how perfect others tell me it is.....isnt that so strange? it is so strange but so true..and when i know i made your days and you are painting, that is more satisfying than a portrait i do on a nail any day of the week :D
I can only agree with you, I would imagine that I would have the exact same feeling and I am also "in heaven " when I can play with all sort of creativity, that's just the best! No matter how good I feel I am 😊
I love the chrome but everything I've watched shows it being used with gel/UV only. It doesn't seem very successful on regular polish, any feedback on that? And Robin...have you ever done art with magnetic polish? If not, I would love to see what you would do with it. Thanks!
Beautiful sweetie just like u I love love ❤️ all your work I'm going to try these beautiful nails amazing inspiration you are thank you sweetie for sharing your amazing videos beautiful nails amazing art and you are amazing friend thank you for helping me get to ware I am is was a hobby for me at first but now it is my life every time I am I've got my handbook writing things down colours and flowers I'm always taking a photo of everything I got that from you and you got me in glitter I'm a glitter junky and I love love ❤️ glitter thank you robin you are so beautiful sweetie it's amazing that you take your time to help others thank you from my heart u are so beautiful as well and you got such a beautiful smile the best smile I ever seen you are so beautiful girl xx I will love you and miss you intill the next video I see you in your other videos lol love ❤️ love you sweetie have a lovey weekend robin xx xx 😘💜👀💅🏻🌺💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🐶🐶💋💋
Was loving this tutorial until you missed a whole chunk out, one minute the flowers were white then they had two different colours on top, where did that part go?? Still beautiful but wished we'd seen the whole process !!
Julie Bromley me too. went out of frame for 3 secomds amd ruined the middle of this design. its light mauve then dsrk mauve in the center done exactly like dozens of others in my flower playlist. i wont give up on filming ...😉😉😉😉
wtf! iwatched this whole damn video and she shows how the white petals are done and then skips how she finished them? really? your gonna film EVERY petal in real time and then not show us how you finished them.aint that some bs; ( damnt. beautiful design, wish i knew how it was done. at least i learned half? thanks lol
Xoxox
Robin always A1....
I’m glad you’re back. I can spend hours looking at all of your beautiful designs. I don’t do nails, I’m an appreciative admirer
Relax and

I love these nails!! They look like fairy gardens
Oh, I forgot something I wanted to say. I know people in general want videos that are short and to the point..you know, that instant gratification. (I'm guilty of it too) I would LOVE to see a video that begins when your client sits down until the client leaves. I want to watch over your shoulder for the whole appointment/process. when you use a polish like opi how long do you let it dry before you begin your beautiful nail art?
after i polish i get my paints ready.....then, the whole time i am painting the polish is drying underneath so it dries as i paint. when i topcoat, i just have to wait for that to dry 6 minutes and they are out the door! xoxoxo
Que lindas
Awesome!

I have that same problem with my nails. (and hair sadly) I am very sorry you're going thru that, but happy to know that I'm not alone😊
I wanted to see how you did the ombre as I really struggle with ombre
Beautiful nails as always. I especially like the chrome ones. Is it hard to do chrome? I would like to try it.

HavenLily you are so welcome. the nail part of.tjis is a whole.other room. lol. it took me years to learn the nail part of it. however, i jump in the deep end too and make so much extra workbfor myself and why i do these....to help others skip the mistakes i made in my career. i use only 2 art brushes and they are at robinmosesnailart.com and i wish you tons of success but mostly
..tons of fun and joy in this craft that lasts a lifetime 😊❤😊💙😊
Thank you so much. I know I am driving you crazy with questions but promise this is the last one--at least on this video :) :) I saw some nails done the other day using the one stroke paint method. Have you ever use that and what do you think of it?
HavenLily i do not do one stroke. its a super long answer as to why, but it doesnt give ME joy...but if it gives you joy that makes me so happy. 😊
you are too strings it is superb, love love love 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞angélique. sorry for my english 😰 😰 😰 😰 😓😓
Amiga tus diseños me encantan mucho son muy hermosos .pero te puedo hacer una pregunta cómo se llama la pintura que empleas para hacer tus diseños?
These really are beautiful! But what happened to the part of the tutorial where you add color to the white petals? That was the part I wanted most to see! I do enjoy your videos, thanks for all the beautiful work!
Hi what is the name of the dust that gives that gorgeous glassy effect please? 😊 😊
its called chrome pigment and this is a white fairy dust version of it. i dont have a brand on mine. it was 1.00 on ebay
oh I wish I had your skills and some bigger nails 😣 (mine are kid size)...
hahahhaaha! you made me laugh beks! so...the SKILLS come with practice and dangit, i cant find anyone with bigger nails either!!!!! cherry bomb just got another job and it conflicts with scheduling...hahahhaahah so, if you dont give up, i wont! but, most of all, thank you and just be patient and have fun, it truly does come together and you amaze yourself at what you can learn. i didnt know how to do this.........i just couldnt fail...i had too much to lose and so i just went all in and practiced until i cried for many years. i didnt have any new ideas or any videos to help me.....i had to just make them up and practice.....and now i am so so grateful i can share this here, with you! y ou dont have to cry as much as me and for that, i am so happy. so, dont give up if you feel you are failing because i feel like i fail every day still :D *huge hug* :D
oh so sweet of you and I'll just keep on practicing - I guess that one day I will be satisfied (in some way)... or maybe I'll grow some bigger nails 😄
but until then....
No matter how good I feel I am 😊
hi robin... did you use a topcoat before doing the chrome or straight over vinylux?
Maybe Magnolia Tree blossoms?!?!
The actually look like blossoms from what we call a Tulip tree...not sure of the "real" name. Love your videos!!
I love the chrome but everything I've watched shows it being used with gel/UV only. It doesn't seem very successful on regular polish, any feedback on that? And Robin...have you ever done art with magnetic polish? If not, I would love to see what you would do with it. Thanks!
What brand of the fairy dust are you using?
Tracy Dale it was on ebay for less than 1.00 from hong Kong that came in blue and green.xoxo
Thank you so much!! I want to try this on my mom's nails... LOVE watching your videos and trying to recreate them!
Are you using acrylic paint? Or is this all nail polish
Where can I order your brushes Robin?
Diana Tingle robinmosesnailart.com ❤

Oh no you ddnt show the pink petals ..........pretty though.
Aww it's such a beautiful design, if at first you don't succeed . . . with the filming 😂😂
They were lovely without the flowers!!!
wtf! iwatched this whole damn video and she shows how the white petals are done and then skips how she finished them? really? your gonna film EVERY petal in real time and then not show us how you finished them.aint that some bs; ( damnt. beautiful design, wish i knew how it was done. at least i learned half? thanks lol
