Words often can not convey the depth of emotions inspired by events...this song was my anthem, accompaning me on trips on loop...yes last three minutes amoung the most beautiful melodies ever written.....thank you
They should have gone with this full album version for the single version, at least the full synth intro, instead of the edited version. I just love that synth intro. Still proudly have the Running In The Family LP i bought in 87. One of the best albums from 87 for sure. This song is one of my favorites.
This song and background music are what's missing today in music. What an incredible time the 80's were. Song writing and musical instramentations were surmountable. I long for those times again.
The most heart-breaking, of break-up songs. Lyrics by 'Level 42' guitarist the brilliant Boon Gould, who tragically took his own life on April 30th 2019 aged 64, after a lifetime suffering depression/bipolar disorder. What a musical legacy he left us - rest easy Sir, and thank you.

@@acordybs u mean because of the video or musically? Musically u said u liked the additions? The guitar and harmonica (played by Boon?) are missing in the original and after hearing those, for me they're always "missing" in the album version. I'm also planning on editing videos to the best long versions of Level 42 and other songs.
@@tanelehala6422 Yes, I liked the addittions here. But in the full version in the last part of the song there are some addittions I think they were not necessary. In the part of "I can feel the tears". I think that part should have been like the original one. It's not bad anyways, put I prefer the other.
It's nice to hear this album version of this amazing song. I bought the Level 42 album "Running In The Family" for my youngest sister as a present at Christmas of 1988. She loved it. A great song from a truly great band.

Love is a complicated feeling.
All we can do is accept it.
And embrace it.

I agree with the comment below. The jazzy sudden turn at the end is amazing. Video is on point too.
