Wow, just *wow*. I was kinda tilting my head a bit at some parts because the tactics seemed a little crazy (like the very liberal use of the shotgun early on vs Zombies) but then seeing how it all came together in the end; I was especially impressed at some of the cheese tactics, like knifing the scorpion, abusing the pathing on the Plague crawlers and straight up YOLO 2nd tyrant fight, like he wasn't shit. Actually I think the most ingenious move was using the Hookshot a 5th time to bait that Leech clone away from the rail car - would NEVER have thought of doing that. I'm only a couple of trophies away from the platinum, and now I feel confident and doubling up on S Rank and Hard. Sucks that I don't think I can avoid having to do Leech Hunter one last time though since my only full clear of it was on Easy. I'd reeeeeally rather not do it on Hard but it's either that or do yet another full run on Normal with an S rank to get the rocket launcher on top of the hard mode run, and I'm beyond sick of the campaign at this point >_>
@10:23 that is one slick dodge. Most people don't even know you can control the partner character lol, but you made sure she stayed safe, while you ran the line, and then warped her through to you. I was making sure I remembered correctly, wondering if I would see any good use of this in the run, and then right away I spot one, yeaaaa boi. I like it, this gets me excited to see if you make any other good uses. I am going to learn a lot of tricks and how this game works watching this. You've clearly mastered this truly underappreciated classic.

Good video my dude. How do you get the shotgun to decapitate every time? I swear I've had it fail about a third of the time and I end up grabbed. The zombie reacts like it's been slapped instead of shot in the face with a boomstick.

Have you been able to understand how to consistently get the final boss to attack you and not Rebecca when she's turning the valves? It's sporadic how the distraction turns out. I can fire about 6-8 magnum shots at him and he still goes for Rebecca and then there are times where I shoot him once and he comes after me. It's one of the poorly designed parts with this fight.
The distraction has some weird RNG elements to it. But it is only a problem at the beginning of phase 2 and mostly because in some rare cases the Queen not only will take long to lock on you but she may delay on going to you by doing that slow animation of raising its body (which is random after enough damage apparently) multiple times. For the next distractions, it doesn't matter because you have a lot of time/distance and you can shoot several times to guarantee the distraction. What I found and I've been meaning to explore more is that if you stun the queen with magnum/grenade launcher (which is consistent, after each stun, it has a cooldown time - equivalent to three steps he takes - until the next stun) and provoke his tail attack during its recovery, you can get him to aggro on you consistently. Then you can evade that attack by staying at some point between his tail and his center. What I did in this video is a lot simpler though and works for most cases except for the rare case I mentioned before. Most of the attempts I lost to this boss fight were either the first acid spit in phase one (it's always a close call on 60 FPS no matter what) or a random long-range spit somewhere in phase two when I have to stay not too far from the Queen (and cannot use the item pickup trick). On PC version, the acid speed is affected by the framerate and on 60FPS/120FPS it's very easy to get hit by the acid in a weird situation. On 30FPS, this fight is way better in terms of acid RNG. The other two parts where you're in a corner and the Queen is coming at you are absolutely consistent as long as you follow the strategy correctly. The key to those two parts is to have the Queen locked on you by the time Rebecca completes the valve, then when the Queen approaches you (if you don't shoot it at all after Rebecca completes the valve), instead of attacking you, it will climb on the wall and start going to Rebecca. You can use that animation to run past it, along with one magnum shot stun animation to get some distance from it. On the other corner, I use that behavior to delay the Queen from going to Rebecca at the final valve and have the boss between both characters until the fight ends.
Every part of this video was great except for the bit at the end where you DIDN'T show getting the effing red chemicals for the battery. Good thing I made a save cos that's some bullshit...
@@diamondgirls6541 oh I forgot to mention but the final boss is better in the gamecube version because the acid spit is affected by the framerate. The higher the framerate the faster the acid spit is. In this video, I play on PC using 60 FPS, but it is a lot easier if you are on 30 FPS.

It's a little complicated to describe but I'll try to explain the nuances of the strategy with words. So, this boss has multiple phases which are damage-based. You trigger the second phase (where the little bats spawn) by hitting two flame rounds. You can't sustain a no damage fight with the little bats around so you want to avoid it and get the stunlock from phase 1 to its death. The bat can attack you in different ways: the good RNG is when it tries to attack you with its head almost and the bad RNG is when it tries to hit you with its claws (grabbing or just hitting you). I call the first one as the good RNG because he will be flying closer to the ground and you'll be able to stunlock him to death very easily by shooting from that angle (I dare say it's 100%). When you get the bad RNG though, he will still try to attack and you have to stop him by shooting to not get hit, but you should not commit to shooting more rounds because there are some chances you won't be able to stunlock him to death. If you shoot just once however, it won't trigger the second phase yet, and you have another attack cycle for a chance to get the good RNG. But if that second attack is also the bad RNG, you don't have much of a choice and the best you can do (from my experience) is to shoot a bit early to prevent him from escaping the stunlock by flying to the corner right above you and at a specific pace between consecutive shots. It also helps that you will now have to nail four shots instead of five. Now, why does the pause the help? You can easily identify the RNG you get by whether you see the bat's face on the camera right before the attack (notice how at the last pause you can see the bat's ear on the left side of the screen - that angle was pretty bad but usually it's very easy to tell that you're getting the good RNG by seeing his face) and make the right decision after that. The timing it decides to attack you is not consistent and when you commit to the stunlock at the bad RNG, it's best to shoot as early as possible and to wait a bit between consecutive shots. When you want to unpause and shoot the bat, make sure that you are holding up and you press X to unpause (instead of start) so that Billy will unpause and shoot immediately saving you from getting hit by the bat. It's still not a guaranteed win, but it's a high success rate strategy making no save no damage very reasonable.

My method for dealing with him is the same method of standing in that corner, only I don't really factor in such depth like what you described. He never seems to do the grab when I'm in that corner. When the fight starts, I listen for him to do 6-8 wing flaps, spam L1 to keep my sights locked on him, and if Billy isn't turning much when I'm spamming L1, it most likely means that the boss is heading for you, so I shoot him and time my shots. The boss seems to descend slightly when he recovers from the stun, which is why I time my shots. Of course, if he ends up moving sideways while stunned, that's a problem and I have to rely on the D-pad to hit him.

I was doing something very similar to what you described before I realized this pausing strategy greatly helped making the right decision and removing the RNG of the timing it attacks you. About timing the consecutive shots, it's very important indeed especially when you get the bad RNG, you need to wait for him to descend enough but not for too long or it will get free from the stun animation.

I think it doesn't pause the timer just like RE1 Remake. Not 100% sure though.

There’s a button to switch characters mid game in every version of RE0.

You can pick red chemical up in the facility at the end part anyway- you shouldn’t have had to back track to far.
