Love my dehydrator! I just bought a vacuum sealer right before my last backpacking trip and it worked great making my own meals. Helped with saving space in my food bag as well. Looks like a nice shelter area!
@@DorisHikingAdventures I too have dehydrated a few meals. It is pretty hit and miss though. Making the food is pretty easy - the problem is rehydrating and eating it! Some dishes simply do not work. I guess you need to test out what works for you. One issue is the time it takes to rehydrate - some dishes you really have to presoak for hours. The other problem is it is hard to add the right amount of water. I tend to end up with a soup like dish. Not good if you are trying for a spag bol or beef curry (my two favourites). I find soupy spag bol to be very unappetizing. I can handle a soupy beef curry, but it takes so long to rehydrate. In the main I have gone back to asian noodles.
@@DorisHikingAdventures just reached balingup! Loving it so far and the best is yet to come. Wet though! I think I made the same mistake, if it was around the Perth discovery centre. Should probably remark it
Great video! One of the best I have seen on the Bibbulmun. I would love to see more about your tent and gear. What you like and now find you perhaps don't like so much with your gear. I had planned on doing this hike last year, but Covid stopped me. Not sure if I can do it now, but hope springs eternal! I am keenly anticipating the next video
Thank you so much Kerry! 🤩😀🙏🙏 I hope you can go out soon, I am planning to do some sections again next spring :D... such a beautiful time of the year with all the wildflowers etc. What time of year are you thinking of going? Still very happy with my Xmid 1p tent and my quilt from "undercling Mike". Can't wait to test them also in winter some time. I will have some video updates coming soon, still editing the Bibb Track videos haha😀
@@DorisHikingAdventures Well, I had planned on April last time (S2N). Not sure about next time, but probably roughly the same. The problem is my chronic backpain has become so bad I am not sure I can even do it now. It is a problem of getting old, I guess!
Oh no! That's no good! I also suffer from lower back pain and knee pain. I do find that stretching morning and evenings helps a lot. To be honest, I prefer to put a muscle relaxer in my first aid kit, in case of really bad pain that always helps for me.
Very cool video, like it very much. Next year in Oktober i will walk bib end2end. Great look to the track. Greetings from germany, black forest, Daniel
Thank you! I am so glad you like it. I hope you are able to travel to Australia from Germany :D On the other hand, I can't wait to do some hiking in Europe 😂😄
Hey Dori I am back watching your old videos. I miss you. Need some more videos popping up on my screen. hope your well. Planning a trip just cant decide what to do and thought one of your smiley videos might convince me. I am from Bunbury WA thinking about walking to Perth then bussing it down to Albany and walking home. Whats the date your starting your hike here in this video. I have heard that down south at certain times of the year you can walk through water all day and deep! Anyway thanks for making all these videos. Ray.
Beautiful, I like your landscape. Thank you for showing me these beautiful places! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I have tagged you for a little video, If you like ;o).
@@DorisHikingAdventures It's not a big deal. Just go out, show us your favorite drink and say a few words. But only if you want, there is no compulsion. 😄
Hi Dori, really enjoyed the video! I have a vested interest as am planning on doing the same type of video/vlog( with drone and GoPro etc) later in the year. Looking fwd to your next video... ps what tripod did you use? I may well pester you re editing software down the track as I have only used basic IMovie this far.
Oops just saw your other TH-cam vids ( which were very informative) regarding camera gear so think you have answered my questions already ( gorilla pod) etc.
@@DorisHikingAdventures well it was going to be next month but covid ruined my plans a bit ( need nsw family to come look after my house and dogs here) so am thinking spring now.. maybe Septemberish? Plus I kinda need to get a bit fitter and still some equipment to buy. Look fed to your next video!
So you're a stress chicken? 😂 Is that Flenglish? 😂 Not to hard to start! Good way to get your body used to hiking! Have a great Sunday or what's left of it! Glad t finally see you out there! Groetjes Kaat
@@DorisHikingAdventures thanks! I'm trying to... 😁 Did you see that you're nominated by Petra to #showusyourbrew? Het is maar dat ik niet weet of ze je verwittigd heeft en toch wel goed om weten al moet je dat uiteraard niet doen, hè. 😁 Groetjes Kaat
